The country's capital, Honiara, is located on the island of Guadalcanal. The country takes its name from the Solomon Islands archipelago, which is a collection of Melanesian islands that also includes the North Solomon Islands (part of Papua New Guinea), but excludes outlying islands, such as Rennell and Bellona, and the Santa Cruz Islands. The islands have been inhabited for thousands of years. In 1568, the Spanish navigator Álvaro de Mendaña was the first European to visit them, naming them the Islas Salomón.Britain defined its area of interest in the Solomon Islands archipelago in June 1893, when Captain Gibson R.N., of HMS Curacoa, declared the southern Solomon Islands as a British protectorate. During World War II, the Solomon Islands campaign (1942–1945) saw fierce fighting between the United States and the Empire of Japan, such as in the Battle of Guadalcanal. The official name of the then British overseas territory was changed from "the British Solomon Islands Protectorate" to "Solomon Islands" in 1975. Self-government was achieved in 1976; independence was obtained two years later. Today, Solomon Islands is a constitutional monarchy with the Queen of Solomon Islands, currently Queen Elizabeth II, as its head of state. Manasseh Sogavare is the current prime minister. The 36-year-old actress is set to be the first biracial person to marry a senior British royal. And while we don’t expect their union to have any real impact on race relations or conversations across the pond and in the United States, it’s nice to see a woman of color get something of a fairy tale ending. But Markle isn’t alone. There are plenty of women outside of the British monarchy who have married men who have royal blood. If you’d like further proof of this, hit the flip for more Black princesses, queens, baronesses, marchionesses and more. Ariana Austin Austin’s story made headlines after she said “I do” in September. The African-American and Guyanese Austin married Joel Makonnen, or Prince Yoel of Ethiopia, the great-grandson of Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie. The couple reportedly dated on and off-again for more than a decade, and in the early stages of their relationship, he kept his lineage a secret. Queen Sylvia of Buganda Born Sylvia Nagginda in the U.K but raised in Uganda, she married Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II in 1999 to become the Queen (or Nnabagereka) of Buganda, which is a kingdom in Uganda. Emma McQuiston McQuiston is the daughter of Suzanna McQuiston and Nigerian oil tycoon Ladi Jadesimi, so she had some pretty elite blood already. She married Ceawlin Henry Laszlo Thynn, Viscount Weymouth in 2013. He is a British businessman and the child of the seventh Marquess of Math, Alexander Thynn. A marquess is a nobleman of hereditary rank who is above an earl but below a duke. As for McQuiston, she is Britain’s first Black marchioness Princess Angela of Liechtenstein Angela Gisela Brown is the wife of Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein. When they married in 2000, she became the first person of known African origin to become part of a reigning European dynasty through marriage. Baroness Cécile de Massy Born Cécile Irène Gelabale in Guadeloupe, she is the fourth wife of Christian Louis de Massy, the son of Princess Antoinette of Monaco, the Baroness de Massy. He is also the nephew of the late Prince Rainier of Monaco (who married late actress Grace Kelly). Queen Masenate Mohato Seeiso Seeiso married King Letsie III of Lesotho in 2000 and became the first commoner to marry into the royal family of Lesotho. Countess Mary Von Habsburg of Austria According to Black Enterprise, the Sudanese native married Ferdinand Leopold Joseph Count von Hasburg of Austria’s Hasburg royal family in 1999. Princess Keisha Omilana of Nigeria Keisha is the wife of Prince Kunle Omilana of Nigeria, or better put by her, “Prince Adekunle Adebayo Omilana from the Arigbabuowo ruling house. The crown royal dynasty, Ipetu Ijesa of Yoruba Kingdom, Nigeria.” Countess Lei von Habsburg Countess Lei, a lawyer from South Carolina, is married to Franz Ferdinand (sometimes referred to as Frank) Habsburg. He is a son of the Archduke Geza of Austria. They wed in 2013.

She paved the way for William to do the same with George When he hung out with her favorite band A true '80s gal, Diana adored Duran Duran. Two decades after their hey day, William and Harry hng with band members When he begs the paparazzi to leave George alone Diana's deth was due in part to her being ruthlessly, dangerously pursued by paparazzi, and William refuses to let his life be dominated in the same way. The Palace has issued warnings to the press to leave little George alone, and he and Kate release portraits regularly to satisfy the masses When he shows off his sassy kid Prince George displays some of the cheeky playfulness of Diana's other son, though: his uncle Harry! When he posed in front of the Taj Mahal We imagine these pics are framed together in Kensington Palace. When he recreates Diana's famous photos While in Australia, William and Kate also posed in front of Ayers Rock. When he and Kate traveled down under with baby George Charles and Diana were met with some controversy when they took their infant on an official tour of New Zealand and Australia, but William and Kate imitated the trip with their own son. When he threw a concert in his mother's memory William and Harry hosted the Concert for Diana on July 1, 2007, what would have been her 46th birthday. Here, they are dancing to Rod Stewart. Proceeds went to Diana's favorite charities. When he interacted with the President of the United States William may have Diana beat on this one: His relationship with Obama seems a whole lot more relaxed than hers with Reagan. When he took the family out for a day of polo Any excuse to see those cute Windsor kids rolling around on the grass. When he serves in the Armed Forces It's part of their royal duty to pay respects to the military, but we imagine Diana would be really proud to know her son has trained and served in the Royal Air Force and British Armed Forces for 10 years. When he smooches his kids Though it'd be hard not to kiss those cheeks. When he dresses his children the way Diana did Prince George often wears actual hand-me-downs from his dad as a nod to tradition. When he focuses his attention on One of Diana's most iconic moments came in the late 1980s, when she hugged, shook hands with and held people with or at a time when people were terrified to do so. In this photo, her sons play with children affected by at a camp in Lesotho. When he took his family skiing There are never enough photos of adorable kids in puffy ski jackets. When he dances He may not display the skills that Diana did during her famous spin with John Travolta, but he has mastered brushing his shoulder off. When he's around children Diana never hesitated to sit, chat and cuddle with kids, and William has also officially designated the needs of children as one of his charitable focuses. When he proposed with Diana's ring Kate Middleton wears the same sapphire ring with a diamond halo that Diana picked out more than 30 years ago.

13 Ancient sites from Ramayana in Present times
Credits : http://detechter.com/list-13-ancient-sites-ramayana-present-time/ Music : Vass - Rowdy Arabia [FREE DL] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-YckAxrOXM Ramayana is not just a story; it's an allegory, which is an indispensable part of the Hindu religious canon. Today, there are various kinds of rudimentary debates or perspectives regarding this ancient mythological epic. Ramayana highlights the tragedy that can result from disharmony in the family, followed by painful consequences of forced exile, abduction, waging a war and eventually lessons about proving purity. Even though, there was a long period of oral tradition before the Ramayana was actually written, No one can prove or disprove anything when it comes to Ramayana. But what we can do is trace down the chronology of places as they are mentioned in the Ramayana and put to analysis the level of differences back then and now. Ayodhya 1. Ayodhya THEN: Ayodhya is where Lord Rama was born and where his 14-year journey in exile began after King Dashratha granted his youngest wife Kekayi her wish and banished Rama to the forest. NOW: Ayodhya, adjacent to Faizabad city in Uttar Pradesh, now hosts thousands of devotees every year during the festival of Ram Navami. A plethora of temples, if you're visiting this sacred land be sure to experience spiritual transcendence. Nepal 2. Janakpur THEN: Janakpur is the birthplace of goddess Sita as well as the site where she was married to Lord Rama. The legend has it that the King of Janakpur ploughed the land here to get rid of a devastating drought, and it was in the course of the ploughing that he stumbled upon an earthen pot out of which Sita emerged. Thereafter, the place is also known as Sitamarhi. NOW: Formerly a subdivision of Muzaffarpur district in Bihar, Sitamarhi is now on south-east of Kathmandu, 20 km from the Indian border. Tens of thousands of pilgrims visit Janakpur to pay homage to Sita at the time of Vivah Panchami, the marriage day of Sita and Ram and on Ram Navami, the birthday of Lord Rama. Allahabad 3. Prayag THEN: Lord Rama along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman crossed the river Ganga from here to go beyond their kingdom. The trio spent some time at the Ashram of Sage Bharadwaj here, before travelling ahead. NOW: What was then known as Prayag, is better known today as Allahabad today. The sanctity of this city is manifested by references in Purans, the Ramayan and the Mahabharat. Apart from that, the city is also famous as Amitabh Bachchan's birthplace and for the Kumbh Mela, the largest religious gathering on the planet. 4.Chitrakoot THEN: This was the site of ‘Bharat Milap’ when Bharat informed Lord Rama of Dashratha’s demise and persuaded him to return to Ayodhya and claim his rightful throne. But when Lord Rama refused, Bharat took his slippers with him to Ayodhya to place it on the throne until Lord Rama's return to the kingdom. NOW: Presently, the town lies between the present-day Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh as a renowned place for a number of Hindu temples and sites mentioned in Hindu scriptures. 5. Dandakaranya THEN: Dandakaranya is an important place in Ramayana as this is where Surpanakha met Lord Rama and fell in love with him. When he turned her down, Surpanakha had her brothers Khar and Dushan attack Rama who killed them in the subsequent battle. Its an important spot according to Hindu mythology since it is considered as a place where one observes penance for his bad deeds. NOW: Dandakaranya is a vast swath of territory which includes parts of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, and Andhra Pradesh states. You can go there for a spiritual stay or to visit the surrounding Dudhsagar Falls and Sula Vineyards. Nashik 6. Panchvati THEN: Panchavati was the place in the forest of Dandakaranya, where Rama built his home along with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman during their period of exile in the wilderness. This place is called Tapovan where Lakshmana, the brother of Rama, cut off the nose of Surpanakha, the sister of Ravana, when she attempted to kill Sita. This is also the place where Ravana sent Mareecha in the guise of a deer to lure Sita and later abducted her. NOW: The modern name for Panchvati is Nasik. Visit the Kala Ram Mandir which is one of the most famous temples in Panchavati. Among other places, you could visit the Sita Gufa (The Cave of Sita) and Kapaleshwar Mandir. Hampi 7. Kishkindha THEN: Kishkindha was the kingdom of apes. Even though, Kishkindha was mentioned in the epic Ramayana with great details, a few mentions of this kingdom are also to be found in the epic Mahabharata. NOW: The ape kingdom today is identified to be the regions around the Tungabhadra river near Hampi in Karnataka. Today Hampi is a famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of its most captivating features being its ruins, which are a result of years of volcanic activity and soil erosion.

Here’s a glimpse at what her life was like as a young princess—and please note the lack of giant colorful hats and matching skirt suits 1942 “Alexa, play Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’ on repeat.” —Princess Elizabeth, age 16 1943 Why yes, that is Queen Elizabeth dressed as Aladdin for another theater production. And yes, that’s Margaret playing the princess. Again, not weird at all 1944 Eighteen-year-old Elizabeth followed in the footsteps of many emo kids and took to journaling her feels. D-i-t-t-o. 1944 Sometimes HRH and her friends put on plays and got extremely turnt/happy in the process. This is something called “Old Mother Riding Boots!” Like, who wouldn’t want to come out of an angst fog and act in that?! 1945 In case you’re wondering the exact age Elizabeth started wearing headscarves, that would be around 19 1946 Elizabeth and her sister Margaret turned it out for their debutante. This picture is so lovely I can’t even come up with a quip 1946 At age 20, Elizabeth was part of a bridesmaid squad. Unfortunately, there’s no historical documentation of whether they went to Las Vegas and/or decorated their bachelorette party with penis-themed accessories 1946 “Hello, it me, just arranging these flowers in a totally natural way! 1947 By the age of 21, Elizabeth was an engaged woman, and she looked downright THRILLED about it. This is her beaming in the state apartments at Buckingham Palace during her engagement to Prince Philip. Highly adorable 1947 These newlyweds look pretty smitten on their honeymoon. But if you’ve seen The Crown, you’re probably like, “Ugh, PHILIP.” 1950 And finally, here we have a 24-year-old Elizabeth square-dancing at something called a “cowboy dress party” in Canada. I’m speechless, so bye Check out more videos of this channel to see more interesting things Please Like, comment, share and subscribe this channel. Thank you !! :)

With Sonam Kapoor’s Neerja rocking it at the box-office, here are 21 classic ads of the real life hero-model Neerja Bhanot. She saved the lives of 360 passengers from Pan Am Flight 73, which was hiked in September 1986. Here’s What You Need To Know About Neerja Bhanot–The Indian Who Saved 360 Lives! This is the story of Neerja Bhanot the senior flight attendant, who helped a number of passengers escape from a hiked fligt. Who was Neerja Bhanot? What happened? During the morning of September 5, 1986, Pan Am Flight 73 landed in Karachi. It had arrived from Mumbai and departed for Frankfurt onward to New York City. The flight was carrying, among members of other nationalities, Indians, Germans, Americans, and pakistanis. Unfounately, the flight was hicked while it was parked on the tarmac at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. Neerja_Bhanot_(1963_–_1986) Four heavily-armed terists, dressed as airport security guards had entered the aircraft whilst fing sots from an automatic wapn and sized control of the plane. After the terists boarded the plane, Neerja alerted the cockpit crew, who escaped through an overhead hatch in the cockpit. As the senior-most crew member remaining on board, this left Neerja in charge. One of the terists asked the flight crew to collect and hand over the passports of all passengers on board. When Neerja realised that the primary targets of the terrorists were American passengers, she hid their passports – even discarding some of them down the rubbish chute. From a total of 41 American passengers, only 2 were kid, thanks to her. After holding passengers and crew members htage for almost 17 hours on the runway, the terists opeed fie. She would have escaped by the emergency exit first, but being the iron woman she gave up her life to save the innoents like a mother. In the end she was sot while shielding three children from the buets being fired by the terts. Neerja’s family suffered a huge loss post the same. “Neerja was the ‘laado’ of the family, the youngest and most pampered. My parents had wished for her, and in a news article after her deth, my father had mentioned how, when she was born on September 7, 1962, the materty ward matron here at Chandigarh hospital rang up to inform, it’s a girl. To her surprise, he gave her double thanks, for Neerja was a prayer answered after two sons,” recalls Aneesh, her brother. neerja_profile‘Neerja was a very sensitive, deeply affectionate and an extremely decent person who believed in sharing with her people all her joys but not the jolts. She had well defined principles and there was little room for compromise in that area’ states her father. Neerja Bhanot was awarded the Ashok Chakra, India’s highest peacetime miliry decoration for the “most conspuous bvery or some daring or pre-eminent valour or self-saifice”, and the Tamgha-e-Insaniyat, awarded by the Pakistan govement for showing incredible kindness. She also received multiple awards for her courage from the United States government. Neerja Bhanot is the youngest Ashok Chakra winner in India! Today her spirit is kept alive by the Bhanot family in numerous ways possible. With the insurance money that they received after her death and an equal contribution from Pan Am, they set up the Neerja Bhanot Pan Am Trust. Through the Trust, they present two awards of Rs. 1,50,000 every year – one to an Indian woman who faces social injustice but overcomes it and helps other women in similar situations, and one to honour an airline crew member who acts beyond the call of dty.

10 Things You Should Never Do in Front of the Queen Elizabeth II
Support This channel : https://www.patreon.com/1MegaVideosChannel Join the Patron: this is Invitation link: https://patreon.com/invite/wvnznz Credits : https://www.housebeautiful.com/lifestyle/g4629/things-not-to-do-in-front-of-the-queen/?slide=10 Music : Lensko - Lets Go! NCS Release You shouldn't touch. Protocol says anyone meeting Queen Elizabeth for the first time should wait for her to extend her hand first. And even afterwards, contact should be kept to a minimum. That means hugs and kisses are a major no no. You shouldn't be sitting. As soon as the Queen enters the room, everyone must stand to greet her and should not sit down until she does. Only then is it polite to take a rest. You shouldn't just stand there. If you're a citizen of the United States, you can simply shake hands, but in Great Britain, men and women must bow or curtsy. When Angelina Jolie, who is a US citizen met the Queen, you see she did a little of all three, because it's better to be safe than sorry! You shouldn't show up casual. A.k.a. dress to impress. If there's a dress code, follow it. And never, under any circumstances, show up in flip-flops, torn jeans or a super revealing outfit. You shouldn't show up without a gift. Bringing a gift is a must, but it should always be appropriate for the occasion. For instance, if the Queen visits your hometown, it's common to give her something that is from there and indicative of your culture. You shouldn't use nicknames. Even though you might feel like you've known the Queen your whole life, remember: she doesn't know you. When you first meet her, address her as "Your Majesty." Use "Ma'am" the rest of the time, except when you say farewell, which should be "Your Majesty" once again. You shouldn't speak unless spoken to. When around the Queen, you should follow the same rule some people use for kids, which is "little children should be seen and not heard." This allows for the Queen to carry the conversation — or put it to a stop, if she so desires. You shouldn't lag behind. When walking with the Queen, keep the same pace as her. This ensures you're alongside her and can introduce her as needed when moving from room to room You shouldn't eat first. It's customary that the Queen should take the first bite at the table and when she's done eating, you should be too You shouldn't slurp your tea Since tea is huge part of the British culture, you should drink it as the Queen does. Hold the tea cup, not the cup and saucer, when at the table, and never, ever slurp as you drink.

liqian people of China unique blond Hair Blue eyes
Support This channel : https://www.patreon.com/1MegaVideosChannel Join the Patron: this is Invitation link: https://patreon.com/invite/wvnznz Credits : http://peaceandjustice.freeforums.net/thread/438/genetics-liqian-people Music : Beautiful Chinese Music【25】Traditional【Bury The Flowers】 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyb3z4eZgsM For years the residents of the remote north western Chinese village of Liqian have believed they were special. Many of the villagers have Western characteristics including green eyes and blonde hair leading some experts to suggest that they may be the descendants of a lost Roman legion that settled in the area. Now DNA testing of the villagers has shown that almost two thirds of them are of Caucasian origin In 53BC, after Crassus was defeated by the Parthians and beheaded near what is now Iran, stories persisted that 145 Romans were captured and wandered the region for years. The town's link with Rome was first suggested by a professor of Chinese history at Oxford in the 1950s Oxford professor Homer Dubs believes the group travelled east, were captured by the Chinese and founded Liqian in 36BC. Prof Dubs theorised that they made their way as a mercenary troop eastwards, which was how a troop 'with a fish-scale formation' came to be captured by the Chinese 17 years later It has been suggested that some made their way east to today's Uzbekistan and later enlisted with the Hun chieftain Jzh Jzh against the Chinese Han Dynasty. He said the 'fish-scale formation' was a reference to the Roman 'tortoise', a phalanx protected by shields on all sides and from above Yang Gongle, professor with Beijing Normal University, said there has not been sufficient proof to link the villagers with the ancient Romans. According to Yang's research, Liqian County was established in 104 BC, half a century earlier than the proposed arrival of the Roman soldiers. And he noted that the fish-scale formation had nothing to do with Roman legion's famous 'testudo' strategy Liqian people, officially recognized as Han Chinese by P. R. China, live in some small village located in Yongchang County of Gansu province, China. Many of them have light colored hair and Caucasian features, which are sharply different from Han Chinese and most ethnic minorities. Recent years, Liqian people were well known to all with controversial hypothesis of ancient Roman mercenary origin. In 1955, Homer H. Dubs proposed that some Roman soldiers captured by the Parthians after Crassus’s defeat at Carrhae in 53 B.C. were eventually hired as mercenaries by a Hun warlord in the western frontier past the boundaries of the Han Empire and were captured by the Chinese and allowed to form their own city, based on the Roman model The hypothesis has been adopted by some scholars. It was, however, disputed by many historians. Several decades passed, the hypothesis remains hotly debated. No direct evidence, paternal genetic contribution seems particular necessary. To test this hypothesis, we surveyed more than 12 Y chromosome binary polymorphisms by use of PCR (polymerase chain reaction, PCR-RFLP (restriction fragment length polymorphism), DHPLC (Denaturing High Performance Liquid Chromatography) methods and 12 short tandem repeat (Y-STRs)loci by using Powerplex? Y system for 227 male individuals representing four Chinese populations: Liqians, Yugurs, Uygur and Tibetans. In comparison with worldwide populations, the following results were obtained.1. Eleven Y-SNP haplogroup and 75 Y-STR haplotype were observed for 87 unrelated Liqian males. At the haplogroup level, the Liqians presented low genetic diversity with a single highest frequent haplogroup O3-M122 (71.3%). When 12 fast-evolving Y-STRs were used, the genetic diversity of Liqians is high than 0.98. In present study, 77% Liqian Y chromosomes were restricted to East Asia. It is unexpected that the frequency of Haplogroup O-M175, an East Asian-specific haplogoup, is relatively higher in Liqian people than that in most populations in North China.2. Principal Component (PC) based on Y-SNPs and multidimensional scaling (MDS) analysis on basis of Y-STRs suggests that the Liqians is closely related to Chinese populations, especially Han Chinese populations, whereas greatly deviate from Central Asian and West Eurasian populations. The positions of populations within some clusters correspond well to their predefined assignments to specific regional groups.

The Queen has only worn trousers eight times - find out why

She looks elegant in the taupe trousers and brown coat combination Possibly the only time we've seen the Queen wear a trouser suit. She looked smart in the grey two-piece when leaving hospital in 2003. Her Majesty had an injured knee and was possibly dressing to cover it The Monarch looked extremely chic dressed in green jodhpurs, a matching tweed jacket and headscarf at the Windsor Horse Show in 1988 The Queen is known for her love of horse riding and here she is in 1982 wearing jodhpurs while riding her horse Burmese in Windsor Great Park with President Reagan A rare photo of the Queen in beige trousers during a safari with Prince Phillip in 1979. The couple were on a state visit to Zambia Her Majesty looked elegant in some slim-fit black trousers back in 1970. She was on a royal tour of New Zealand with her husband the Duke of Edinburgh. Here we see a young Princess Elizabeth, then aged 14, with her sister Princess Margaret back in 1940 at Windsor Castle. The pair look very stylish in their jodhpurs which taper at the calf as they pick daffodils How many times have you seen her Majesty the Queen step out in a pair of trousers? Not many. In fact, the Queen hasn't worn trousers in public for eight years. The Monarch favours dresses or skirts for her formal engagements and is known for her love of bright colours with matching hats and coats. When the Queen has decided to wear trousers, it is normally during her private time for leisure activities, sport or on holiday. According to tradition, royal women usually wear skirts or dresses while on duty. The Duchess of Cambridge seems to follow the Queen's lead with this and is rarely pictured in trousers. Meghan Markle, meanwhile, has taken more of a modern stance and has already worn trousers on official engagements with Prince Harry. Princess Diana's Wedding Guest Looks Through the Years
Credits : https://www.marieclaire.com/fashion/g23584540/princess-diana-wedding-guest-outfit-photos/?slide=14 Music : [Royalty Free Music] Relaxing Acoustically Driven Instrumental (Royalty Free) FREE Background Music Princess Diana's Wedding Guest Looks Through the Years Tailored blazers and dresses were her go-to July 1994 Diana was all of us avoiding smalltalk at Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones and Daniel Chatto's wedding (but she looked fab doing it—look at those heels!). Lady Sarah is the only daughter of Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones October 1993 Princess Diana went to the wedding of David Armstrong-Jones, the son of the Queen's sister Princess Margaret and Antony Armstrong-Jones, in a periwinkle blazer and white dress. Who says the bride is the only one who can wear white? December 1992 Princess Diana attended the wedding of her friend Harry Herbert alongside the Queen, who was a friend of the groom's father. Quite a statement with that...interesting pattern outlined along her blazer and hat. July 1992 Talk about foreshadowing. Diana arrived with Prince Harry to Windsor Castle in a beautiful green suit for the wedding of Lady Helen Windsor—the daughter of Prince Edward, Duke of Kent—and Tim Taylor. September 1989 Diana wore a white dress and lilac coat as she stood next to her mother Frances Shand-Kydd at the wedding of her brother, Viscount Spencer May 1989 Diana and Charles held hands with William and Harry at Duke Hussey's daughter's wedding. The princess rocked a bermuda-length suit. Fun fact: Hussey's wife, Lady Susan Hussey, is Prince William's godmother. April 1989 Red is most definitely Diana's color. Here, she wore a white dress and red blazer to the wedding of Joanna Leshallas and Edward Berry Cranbrook Kent. Harry and William were page boys at this ceremony as well October 1988 Prince Charles and Princess Diana stood in front of fashion designer Catherine Walker at the wedding of Camilla Dunne and Rupert Soames, a grandson of Winston Churchill. Prince William and Prince Harry were page boys at the ceremony. Di's turquoise asymmetrical suit jacket is so '80s July 1986 Lady Di had no fear of standing out in a polka dot dress at the wedding of Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew, Princess Eugenie's parents. July 1985 Diana chose a floral silk suit and matching hat for the wedding of Carolyn Hebert and John Warren in Berkshire. FYI, that's Prince Andrew Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice's father next to her. February 1985 Diana attended a private wedding in Foulsham, a village 119 miles northeast of London, wearing a strongly shoulder-padded dress similar to the one she wore for Prince Harry's christening a couple months prior October 1983 Diana looked chic in a silver pinstriped jumpsuit to her other former roommate Anne Bolton's wedding in Chelsea, London September 1982 The Princess of Wales wore a magenta jumpsuit, which greatly resembles a pair of culottes, to the wedding of her former roommate Carolyn Pride and husband William Bartholomew. June 1981 At only 19 years old, Diana stood next to the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret during Nicholas Soames' wedding in a bold red polka dot dress and matching hat. Soames is a grandson of Winston Churchill Like us commoners, royals have friends and family who get married, too. These days, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton's outfits differ depending on whose wedding they're attending, whether that be flowy maxis or structured coat dresses. But these old pictures of their late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, prove that Lady Di practically invented the menswear-inspired wedding guest look. The princess often stuck to a classic blazer and dress—topped with a hat, of course. See the princess' wedding style evolution, ahead Check out more videos of this channel to see more interesting things Please Like, comment, share and subscribe this channel. Thank you !! :)

Be it his films, or a paint brush! The multi-faceted person that Salman Khan is, it is no doubt that even his paintings are as unique as him. From abstract to modern strokes, his favourite pastime is mixing colours on a palette. The actor has a huge collection of paintings locked up at his Panvel bungalow. Whatever he draws, turns eyeballs. Such is the craze, that his paintings are sold for lakhs and crores. And all the amount that comes from the auctions straightaway goes into the funds of his NGO "Being Human". Trivia: During an auction, one of Salman's most favourite paintings depicting the love between a mother and a son was fetching just 20 lakhs. So, he decided to withdraw that painting from the sale. Later on, the same painting was sold for a whooping 2.5 crore! Bollywood hunk, Salman Khan has had a larger than life image for the past 20 years in the film industry that has seen him earn a cult following and general ire at the same time. When this multi talented actor is not shooting for films, he follows his other passion – Painting. From abstract to modern strokes, his favourite pastime is mixing colours on a palette. The actor has a huge collection of paintings, which he’s locked up at his Panvel bungalow Without further ado, let's take a look at some of his most famous and loved creations. 1. His most common form is sketching faces with tranquil and thoughtful expressions. This one is of Gautam Buddha. 2. And this one too... 3. He often paints religious themes backed by his own belief in 'oneness of Gods.' See how many Gods can you trace in this painting. Hint: All three are from different faiths. 4. Jesus Christ seems to be one of his most drawn figures. These paintings will tell you why. 5. Salman even made one during the shooting of his blockbuster film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. He later gifted it to his co-star Kareena Kapoor. This is what he painted and shared on Twitter.  6. Even his drawings are romantic! Can we see a glimpse of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in it ? 7. Several of his industry colleagues are self-proclaimed Salman "the painter" fans too! He has gifted paintings to his close friends Aamir Khan and Boney Kapoor. Sridevi has two of his paintings hanging in her house.  8. He even made one for Aamir during the latter's Ghajini days. Well, that was Salman's way to wish his good friend's film all the success. And yes, it paid off too! 9. He also gifted a painting of legendary actor Raj Kapoor to his grandson Ranbir. Ranbir and his leading ladies had come to promote their film Bachna Ae Haseeno on Salman's show Dus Ka Dum. 10. Salman's paintings are very precious to him. Hence, he is quite hesitant to auction or sell them. If at all he does, the money raised goes to his charity. 11. Salman's father and veteran scriptwriter Salim Khan said he is a proud father because of his son's talent. "Which father wouldn't be happy to see that his own child possesses this kind of talent? As far as the paintings are concerned, he has been doing it for a while. It is almost close to Salman's hit film." - Salim Khan  12. Salman keeps doodling in between the shots too. So much so, that he drew Lord Shiva on a piece of paper when he had gone to promote one of his films on the sets of Indian Idol Junior, and all within 10 minutes leaving the entire crew amazed! "During the break, while Sonakshi Sinha was touching up her make-up and the others were having refreshments, Salman took a paper that is kept on the table for judges to give marks and started doodling. Within 10 minutes he had drawn the face of Lord Shiva. Everyone on the sets was amazed." - A source from the sets. Salman even taught his protege Sonakshi Sinha to paint. "I've done fashion designing so I knew how to sketch. Using the paintbrush was something I dreaded. But Salman helped me overcome this fear and taught me to paint." - Sonakshi Sinha Salman's name might be synonymous with colossal stardom, incredible fan following and blockbuster hits, but when he is not churning out a 200 crore film, he is drenched in colours, making paintings that are masterpieces. That's the best way a man of many moods like him can express his inner self. Right? We love you Salman

Maori the Native indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand
The Māori (/ˈmaʊri/; Māori pronunciation: [ˈmaːɔɾi],  listen)[6] are the indigenous Polynesian people of New Zealand. The Māori originated with settlers from eastern Polynesia, who arrived in New Zealand in several waves of canoe voyages at some time between 1250 and 1300 CE.[7][8] Over several centuries in isolation, the Polynesian settlers developed a unique culture that became known as the "Māori", with their own language, a rich mythology, distinctive crafts and performing arts. Early Māori formed tribal groups, based on eastern Polynesian social customs and organisation. Horticulture flourished using plants they introduced, and later a prominent warrior culture emerged. The arrival of Europeans to New Zealand starting from the 17th century brought enormous changes to the Māori way of life. Māori people gradually adopted many aspects of Western society and culture. Initial relations between Māori and Europeans were largely amicable, and with the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840, the two cultures coexisted as part of a new British colony. Rising tensions over disputed land sales led to conflict in the 1860s. Social upheaval, decades of conflict and epidemics of introduced disease took a devastating toll on the Māori population, which fell dramatically. By the start of the 20th century, the Māori population had begun to recover, and efforts have been made to increase their standing in wider New Zealand society and achieve social justice. Traditional Māori culture has enjoyed a revival, and a protest movement emerged in the 1960s advocating for Māori issues. In the 2013 census, there were approximately 600,000 people in New Zealand identifying as Māori, making up roughly 15% of the national population. They are the second-largest ethnic group in New Zealand, after European New Zealanders ("Pākehā"). In addition, more than 120,000 Māori live in Australia. The Māori language (known as Te Reo Māori) is still spoken to some extent by about a fifth of all Māori, representing 3% of the total population. Many New Zealanders regularly use Māori words and expressions, such as "kia ora", while speaking English. Māori are active in all spheres of New Zealand culture and society, with independent representation in areas such as media, politics and sport. Disproportionate numbers of Māori face significant economic and social obstacles, with lower life expectancies and incomes compared with other New Zealand ethnic groups. They suffer higher levels of crime, health problems, and educational under-achievement. Socioeconomic initiatives have been implemented aimed at closing the gap between Māori and other New Zealanders. Political redress for historical grievances is also ongoing In the Māori language, the word māori means "normal", "natural" or "ordinary". In legends and oral traditions, the word distinguished ordinary mortal human beings—tāngata māori—from deities and spirits (wairua);[9][i] likewise wai māori denoted "fresh water" as opposed to salt water. There are cognate words in most Polynesian languages,[10] all deriving from Proto-Polynesian *ma(a)qoli, which has the reconstructed meaning "true, real, genuine".[11][12] In English, the name is normally spelled "Maori", without the diacritic. Most major news outlets (for example, Stuff and the New Zealand Herald) all omit the diacritic.

Japan's New Emperor Prince Naruhito's most touching family moments
Credits : https://www.hellomagazine.com/royalty/gallery/2016071369245/japan-prince-naruhito-most-touching-family-moments/1/ Music : Inspire Music (Royalty Free Inspire Background Music) Itro - Panda [NCS Release] Japan's Emperor-to-be Prince Naruhito's most touching family moments On Wednesday, Emperor Akihito of Japan announced that he would be abdicating the throne. According to Japanese law, the next-in-line will be his eldest son Prince Naruhito, who will assume the position of Emperor alongside his wife, Princess Masako. She will then become Empress Consort. To celebrate the news, we're taking a look back at Naruhito and Masako's family life with their 14-year-old daughter Princess Aiko. Click through our gallery to see all of their moving family moments. On December 1, 2001, Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako welcomed their first child, Aiko, Princess Toshi. Days after the birth, the royal couple presented the young girl to the nation's media. The father-daughter duo enjoyed some bonding time together during a walk in the woods on a family holiday in Tochigi Prefecture, during the summer of 2002. Dressed in a cute blue and white onesie, Aiko played outside with her parents during a visit to their private house on the coast in Hayam. Pretty in pink. The little Princess held on tightly to her father's hand as the trio arrived at the Nagano station in central Japan. The family were on their way to their annual ski trip. Weathering the storm together, the young Princess and her father arrived at Gakushuin Kindergarten for the open house classes held for Father's Day. To celebrate the young royal's fourth birthday, the family went orange mandarin picking in the Togu Palace gardens. Like most little girls, Princess Aiko was very eager and excited to explore Tokyo's Disneyland when the family took a trip there in 2006. Family game night. Prince Naruhito celebrated his 47th birthday with his two favorite girls, playing cards at their Togu residence. Like most fathers, the Prince made sure he captured lots of precious moments in Aiko's childhood on camera, including her lively school performances. Completing a Japanese royal family rite of passage, Aiko dressed up in a traditional Kimono coat for the Chakkonogi ceremony. The Princess looked sweet in the pink and yellow outfit as she was accompanied into the ceremony by her proud parents. The Emperor and Empress-to-be to be watched on gleefully as their only child danced around with fellow students at her school's athletic festival in 2007. Proving that they are never too busy to walk their little girl to school, Princess Masako sweetly held hands with Aiko as the trio set off to walk to the little's Princess elementary school. During a visit to Shiosai Park in Hayama, Kanagwa, the family-of-three enjoyed a day out at a local park where they fed a pond full of carp in 2012. Prince Aiko and her father Prince Naruhito both took part in an orchestra concert for the alumni of Gakushuin University in 2013. During the concert, Aiko played the cello and her father, the viola. Smiles all around. Aiko and her parents were all very excited as they walked to school on her first day of Junior High Check out more videos of this channel to see more interesting things Please Like, comment, share and subscribe this channel. Times When Princess Diana Recycled Her Royal Wardrobe
Credits : https://www.marieclaire.com/fashion/g21203228/princess-diana-recycled-outfits/ Music : Axol x Alex Skrindo - You [NCS Release] Arensky - Sunrise (No Copyright Gaming Music) All the Times Princess Diana Recycled Her Royal Wardrobe The Princess of Wales didn't just repeat outfits—she remade them completely The Duchess of Cambridge may re-wear key pieces from her wardrobe from time to time, but her late mother-in-law Princess Diana completely deconstructed and redesigned several outfits to suit her changing style. Below, a few of the princess's best "recycled" looks. 1 The Pale Blue Catherine Walker Gown Diana wore this long-sleeved gown for the first time during an official visit to Lisbon, Portugal in 1987. She then remade the dress, removing the sleeves and re-crafting it with a heart-shaped strapless neckline to wear to a charity ball two years later in 1989. 2 A Voluminous Skirt Clearly, Diana brought a few of her favorite looks with her to Lisbon in 1987. The photo on the left shows her on the official visit, and in the picture on the right, she's in Cannes just a few months later, wearing the same skirt, just styled a bit differently. 3 The Saudi Suite of Jewels Diana was even inventive with her jewelry. In May of 1986, she wore a headband made from jewels, which she had reset from the Saudi suite of sapphires. The gems reportedly came from a watch, and she wore the new look both around the head and as a choker necklace. 4 The Victor Edelstein Peplum Skirt Diana was a big fan of polka dots. On the left, she's seen with Princess Anne at an equestrian event in June of 1986, and on the right, she appears to be wearing an altered version of the same dress, sans-peplum, at a polo match just one year later. 5 A Floral Two-Piece Look Diana wasn't afraid to break apart a two-piece set to make multiple outfits. On the left, she's seen in the full ensemble at the 1981 Wimbledon Tennis Championships. Several years later, in 1985, she wore just the skirt to a polo match in Cirencester. 6 The Beaded Catherine Walker Gown Two years after Princess Diana wore a striking floral gown to meet the president of Nigeria, she wore the same dress with a different skirt to a banquet in Seoul, South Korea. 7 An Adaptable Sapphire Brooch Sapphires were one of Diana's signature stones. On the left, the late Princess of Wales wore her striking sapphire brooch as a pin while at the Dutch royal family banquet at Hampton Court Palace in 1982. On the right is a portrait of Diana wearing the same brooch set into a pearl necklace in Vienna in 1986. 8 Her Mondi white skirt with red polka dots On the left, Diana wears a Mondi white skirt with red polka dots with matching ankle socks at a polo match in Windsor in June, 1986. And on the right, she receives flowers from well-wishers during a visit in Melbourne, Australia in the same skirt! 9 The Caroline Charles Tartan Suit Members of the royal family are quite fond of their plaid, and Diana was no exception. The late princess favored this tartan suit by Caroline Charles. She wore it to the Braemar Highland Games in Scotland in 1981 and then changed up the neckline before she wore it again in 1985. 10 Puffy-Sleeved Pink Evening Dress Diana wore this notable pastel evening gown twice, once in Melbourne in 1983 (left) and again without the peplum and with shorter sleeves (right) in 1986. 11 Abstract Black-and-White Blouse Diana wore this striking top once on the royal tour of Australia in 1983 (left) and again at a polo match (right) that same year Check out more videos of this channel to see more interesting things Please Like, comment, share and subscribe this channel. Angkor Wat - Hindu Temple Vishnu - largest religious monument in the world - Cambodia
Angkor Wat (Khmer: អង្គរវត្ត or "Capital Temple") is a temple complex in Cambodia and the largest religious monument in the world, with the site measuring 162.6 hectares (1,626,000 m2; 402 acres). It was originally constructed as a Hindu temple of god Vishnu for the Khmer Empire, gradually transforming into a Buddhist temple toward the end of the 12th century. It was built by the Khmer King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century in Yaśodharapura (Khmer: យសោធរបុរៈ, present-day Angkor), the capital of the Khmer Empire, as his state temple and eventual mausoleum. Breaking from the Shaiva tradition of previous kings, Angkor Wat was instead dedicated to Vishnu. As the best-preserved temple at the site, it is the only one to have remained a significant religious center since its foundation. The temple is at the top of the high classical style of Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia, appearing on its national flag, and it is the country's prime attraction for visitors. Angkor Wat combines two basic plans of Khmer temple architecture: the temple-mountain and the later galleried temple. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, home of the devas in Hindu mythology: within a moat and an outer wall 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi) long are three rectangular galleries, each raised above the next. At the centre of the temple stands a quincunx of towers. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west; scholars are divided as to the significance of this. The temple is admired for the grandeur and harmony of the architecture, its extensive bas-reliefs, and for the numerous devatas adorning its walls The modern name, Angkor Wat, means "Temple City" or "City of Temples" in Khmer; Angkor, meaning "city" or "capital city", is a vernacular form of the word nokor (នគរ), which comes from the Sanskrit word nagara (Devanāgarī: नगर).[5] Wat is the Khmer word for "temple grounds", also derived from Sanskrit vāṭa (Devanāgarī: वाट), meaning "enclosure". The original name of the temple was Vrah Viṣṇuloka (Sanskrit) or Brah Bisnulōk (Local variant) which means the sacred dwelling of Vishnu. Angkor Wat lies 5.5 kilometres (3.4 mi) north of the modern town of Siem Reap, and a short distance south and slightly east of the previous capital, which was centred at Baphuon. In an area of Cambodia where there is an important group of ancient structures, it is the southernmost of Angkor's main sites. According to legend, the construction of Angkor Wat was ordered by Indra to act as a palace for his son Precha Ket Mealea. According to the 13th century Chinese traveler Daguan Zhou, it was believed by some that the temple was constructed in a single night by a divine architect. The initial design and construction of the temple took place in the first half of the 12th century, during the reign of Suryavarman II (ruled 1113 – c. 1150). Dedicated to Vishnu, it was built as the king's state temple and capital city. As neither the foundation stela nor any contemporary inscriptions referring to the temple have been found, its original name is unknown, but it may have been known as "Varah Vishnu-lok" after the presiding deity. Work seems to have ended shortly after the king's death, leaving some of the bas-relief decoration unfinished.[9] In 1177, approximately 27 years after the death of Suryavarman II, Angkor was sacked by the Chams, the traditional enemies of the Khmer. Thereafter the empire was restored by a new king, Jayavarman VII, who established a new capital and state temple (Angkor Thom and the Bayon respectively) a few kilometers to the north Toward the end of the 12th century, Angkor Wat gradually transformed from a Hindu center of worship to Buddhism, which continues to the present day.[2] Angkor Wat is unusual among the Angkor temples in that although it was somewhat neglected after the 16th century it was never completely abandoned, its preservation being due in part to the fact that its moat also provided some protection from encroachment by the jungle One of the first Western visitors to the temple was António da Madalena, a Portuguese monk who visited in 1586 and said that it "is of such extraordinary construction that it is not possible to describe it with a pen, particularly since it is like no other building in the world. It has towers and decoration and all the refinements which the human genius can conceive of By the 17th century, Angkor Wat was not completely abandoned and functioned as a Buddhist temple. Fourteen inscriptions dated from the 17th century discovered in Angkor area testify to Japanese Buddhist pilgrims that had established small settlements alongside Khmer locals.[13] At that time, the temple was thought by the Japanese visitors as the famed Jetavana garden of the Buddha, which originally located in the kingdom of Magadha, India.[14] The best-known inscription tells of Ukondafu Kazufusa, who celebrated the Khmer New Year at Angkor Wat in 1632

A November 2017 report by Brand Finance estimated that the British monarchy brings in £550 million, or $736 million, in tourism dollars every year. According to the report, over 2.7 million tourists visited Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and other royal attractions in 2016. Additional revenue comes from merchandise sales. The Crown Estate is worth $9.8 billion. The Crown Estate includes beef farms, stone mines and Windsor Great Park. Although the estate is legally owned by the Sovereign, the Queen does not manage it nor does she receive direct profits from it The queen has helped raise billions for charity. Research released by the Charities Aid Foundation in 2012 showed that Queen Elizabeth II's support of various charities has helped them raise £1.4 billion annually, or $1.9 billion. Members of the royal family are patrons or presidents of over 3,000 charitable organizations, including the British Red Cross, the Reedham Children's Trust and the Armed Forces The royal family’s biggest expense is the staff. If you're wondering how the British royal family spends their money, wonder no more — it's actually all documented. But Queen Elizabeth does pay taxes. The queen also has always had to pay the Value Added Tax — a consumption tax common in most countries outside the U.S. Prince Charles doesn’t have to pay income taxes. The Duchy of Cornwall is tax exempt, but Prince Charles voluntarily pays income taxes on it anyway. Princess Kate used to work for her parents’ event planning company. Kate Middleton's parents own the event planning company Party Pieces She also spearheaded the launch of First Birthdays, a division of the company that specializes in planning parties for babies. Prince Harry had a 10-year military career. Prince Harry joined the British Army in 2004 and officially retired in 2015 after two tours of Afghanistan. Prince William worked as a helicopter pilot. Before officially retiring in July 2017, Prince William worked as a helicopter pilot for the East Anglian Air Ambulance service. He also previously worked as a military rescue helicopter pilot for seven years. Prince William and Prince Harry each inherited $13.4M from Princess Diana’s estate. Princess Diana left £21 million in assets to her sons William and Harry, to be held in a trust until they turned 25, according to Forbes. They also received a collection of her personal items, including her wedding dress, jewelry, photographs, letters and more. Prince Charles uses part of the income from the Duchy of Cornwall to fund the living expenses of his wife — Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and his sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. Prince Charles gets his money from the Duchy of Cornwall. While the Queen gets income from the Duchy of Lancaster, the Prince of Wales, Charles, gets his income from the Duchy of Cornwall. Prince Charles receives the annual net surplus of the Duchy of Cornwall as his personal income. The Duchy of Cornwall brought in a surplus of £20.7 million ($27.7 million) for 2016-2017. Other sources of money for Queen Elizabeth II are her personal investment portfolio and private estates, which include the Balmoral and Sandringham Estates she inherited from her father. The royal palaces and Crown Jewels are not part of the Queen's personal wealth, as they must be passed on to her successor and are not hers to sell. The Queen has the highest British royal family net worth at $600 million and is by far the richest member of the royal family. The queen gets additional Income from the Duchy of Lancaster. The Duchy of Lancaster refers to the portfolio of land, property and assets held in trust for the king or queen of England, and it provides the head of the royal family with an independent source of income outside of the Sovereign Grant. In 2017, the Duchy of Lancaster delivered a net income of £19.2 million ($25.7 million). The amount the queen receives is expected to rise. For 2018 and 2019, the Queen is estimated to receive £82.2 million, or $110 million, according to the BBC. The Sovereign Grant is equal to 15 percent of the Crown Estate's total profits, so when profits rise, so does the size of the grant. Profits for 2016-2017 from the Crown Estate rose by £24 million, so the Queen is expected to receive a £6 million ($8 million) pay increase.

You need to speak the part before you can act the part Pardon If Prince William missed what you said, he'd interject with a "what?" Words such as "sorry" and "pardon" don't see much use among the upper class, no matter how polite they sound. Perfume Diana, Princess of Wales, loved to wear a signature "scent" (Quelques Fleurs, to be exact) but she didn't dab on "perfume." Toilet When it's time to go, head to the "lavatory," advises royal etiquette expert Myka Meier. The Duchess would never excuse herself to the "toilet," "bathroom" or even "ladies." Cheers Clinking glasses with a simple “cheers” is not the way it’s done at a royal party. Formal toasts are a must. Nice Seeing You Pleasantries are for commoners. The royal family ends their conversations just saying "goodbye." It's not very regal to sprinkle on additional phrases like "nice seeing you" or something similar. Portion Anyone hoping to score a second plate of food at a banquet with the royal family should know how to ask for it. The proper way to ask for another portion is to call it a "helping." Dessert No matter what you might be craving to get your sugar fix, dessert in the Palace is known simply as "pudding." Refreshment It might seem proper to ask for a refreshment when you’re feeling peckish or thirsty, but the royals put it simply as “food and drink.” Patio If Prince George and Princess Charlotte want to go outside, their parents would take them to the "terrace," not a "patio." Living Room As for rooms with a sofa, Buckingham Palace likely includes "drawing rooms" and "sitting rooms," but not "lounges," "dens" or comfy, ol' "living rooms." Couch Queen Elizabeth can spend a lazy day on the "sofa," but HRH wouldn't be caught dead on a "settee" or "couch." Function The British classes have different words for social gatherings: Lower classes attend a “do," the middle class attends a “function," but the royal family lean toward the more common American term known as a “party.” Dinner There’s no such thing as a casual meal at Buckingham Palace. The royals only use the term “dinner” to refer to an event with formal invitations. The meal we Americans call dinner is just supper across the pond. Afternoon (or High) Tea Tea time has been a British tradition for centuries, but the royals just call it supper. For the queen and co., tea is just the hot beverage they sip (but never slurp.) Posh If learning all of these subtleties makes you feel "posh," stop right there. "The correct upper-class word is 'smart,'" Fox says. "In upper-middle and upper-class circles, 'posh' can only be used ironically, in a jokey tone, to show that you know it's a low-class word." Righttt, we totally knew that. Dad Your average Brit calls their parents "mum" and "dad." But like any self-respecting royal, Prince Charles referred to the Queen as "Mummy" during her Diamond Jubilee celebration. That makes Prince Philip "Daddy," of course.

Facts about Anne Frank
http://www.factslides.com/s-Anne-Frank Annelies Marie (Anne) Frank (German pronunciation: [ʔanəliːs maˈʁiː ˈʔanə ˈfʁaŋk]; Dutch pronunciation: [ʔɑnəˈlis maˈri ˈʔɑnə ˈfrɑŋk]; 12 June 1929 – February or March 1945[4]) was a German-born diarist. One of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocau, she gained fame posthumously following the publication of The Diary of a Young Girl (originally Het Achterhuis; English: The Secet Annex), in which she documents her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944, during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. It is one of the world's most widely known books and has been the basis for several plays and films. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she lived most of her life in or near Amsterdam, Netherlands, having moved there with her family at the age of four-and-a-half when the Nazis gained control over Germany. Born a German national, Frank lost her citizenship in 1941 and thus became stateless. By May 1940, the Franks were trapped in Amsterdam by the German occupation of the Netherlands. As persecutions of the Jewish population increased in July 1942, the family went into hiding in some concealed rooms behind a bookcase in the building where Anne's father worked. From then until the family's arrest by the Gestapo in August 1944, Anne kept a diary she had received as a birthday present, and wrote in it regularly. Following their arrest, the Franks were transported to concentraon camps. In October or November 1944, Anne and her sister, Margot, were transferred to Bergen-Belsen concentration camp from Ausitz, where they died (probably of typhus) a few months later. They were originally estimated by the Red Cross to have did in March, with Dutch authorities setting 31 March as their official date of death, but research by the Anne Frank House in 2015 suggests they more likely did in February.[ Frank's father, Otto, the only survivor of the family, returned to Amsterdam after the war to find that her diary had been saved by one of the helpers, Miep Gies, and his efforts led to its publication in 1947. It was translated from its original Dutch version and first published in English in 1952 as The Diary of a Young Girl, and has since been translated into over 60 languages

Royal family Ladies in Coral aka Pantone’s Colour of the year for 2019
Credits : https://www.hellomagazine.com/fashion/royal-style/gallery/2018120665360/royals-wearing-coral/1/ Music : MBB - Beach (Vlog No Copyright Music) MBB - Feel Good (Vlog No Copyright Music) MBB - Palm Trees (Vlog No Copyright Music) Members of the royal family looking chic in Coral (aka Pantone’s Colour of the year for 2019) It’s a big day when the Pantone Colour of The Year is announced - it sets the scene for fashion trends, beauty trends, homeware trends and the art you’ll be buying for your walls. For 2019 - yep, you've guessed it - it's Living Coral. The muted terracotta hue is a favourite with the royal ladies - especially in summer! We’ve seen the Duchess of Cambridge rock the flattering shade countless times, and while we haven’t seen the Duchess of Sussex in the hue since she became a royal, we have dug up an old photo of Meghan where she’s rocking a little coral number. As well as the Duchesses, other royals have rocked coral - and they’ll really inspire your SS19 look. Ready? Let’s see who kis it in coral… The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton Pantone has described Living Coral as: "An animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone that energises and enlivens with a softer edge." Kate sported a pair of coral jeans when she met with the UK’s Olympic team in London. Style fans rushed to the shops to replicate Kate’s style - and Asda reported an 88 per cent increase in sales of their £14 coloured denim. Meghan Markle wearing a coral dress Meghan Markle Isn’t it strange looking at photos of Meghan pre-meeting Harry? Here she is at a press event at the Chateau Marmont back in 2016 wearing a coral mini dress, a pair of sandals and a Louis Vuitton bag, and she’s all bogged down with the freebies she managed to wangle - a girl after our own heart! Still, she’s wearing coral, and she looks lovely, so she definitely belongs in this feature. Princess Beatrice wearing a coral dress Princess Eugenie Here’s Princess Eugenie back in 2012 at the Big Jubilee Lunch at All Saints Church in London ahead of the Diamond Jubilee River Pageant. With her big beaming smile and her coral dress, we can definitely agree that this is an uplifting “energising” colour. Sarah Ferguson wearing a coral evening dress Sarah Ferguson Swit swoo! Check out Sarah Ferguson in this coral number - this colour really suits redheads. The former wife of Prince Andrew wore the floor-length dress for an appearance at amfAR’s 22nd Cinema Against ADS Gala. Queen Letizia wearing a coral blazer Queen Letizia of Spain Before we discuss Queen Letizia’s coral blazer, can we just point you in the direction of the Spanish royal’s Cinderella shoes - we don’t think we’ve ever seen a royal wearing a pair like it. The monarch looked beautiful in her coral buttoned-up blazer which she wore over a floral dress to the Bicentenary of the Council of the Greatness of Spain at the El Pardo Palace in 2015. Queen Maxima wearing a coral dress Queen Maxima of the Netherlands We knew we’d find a photo of Queen Maxima in coral - this royal just loves a bright colour! Here she is back in 2017 during a visit to the Champalimaud Centre in Portugal. Crown Princess Mary wearing a coral dress Princess Mary Oh, we can’t deal with how beautiful Crown Princess Mary looked as she arrived at the wedding of Princess Madeleine of Sweden and Christoper O’Neill in 2013. Coral and wedding guests go hand-in-hand. It’s a fail-safe colour to wear to a wedding, though you might run the risk of matching the bridesmaids. Princess Diana wearing coral Princess Diana There’s no doubt about it, Princess Diana was NOT afraid of colour. In fact, she embraced it with open arms. Here she is attending Royal Ascot in 1985 wearing a muted coral pleated skirt with a billowing pussybow blouse. She teamed her peachy ensemble with a matching hat and cream accessories. Sophie Wessex wearing a coral skirt to Ascot The Countess of Wessex The colour coral is perfect for a day of the races - just look at Sophie who looked incredible in 2016 as she arrived for day three of the annual event. Sporting a coral skirt with a white top and a matching hat, she looked ready for a fun royal day out. The Queen wearing a coral coat The Queen Elizabeth II Oh how we adore the Queen is summer brights and this coral-orange coat is just beautiful and suits her skin tone perfectly. Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa old photos and quots - Must See
Ramakrishna Paramahamsa (Bengali: রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংস)  Ramkṛiṣṇo Pôromôhongśo (help·info); 18 February 1836 – 16 August 1886), born Gadadhar Chatterji or Gadadhar Chattopadhyay , was an Indian mystic and yogi during the 19th-century. Ramakrishna was given to spiritual ecstacies from a young age, and was influenced by several religious traditions, including devotion toward the goddess Kali, Tantra and Vaishnava bhakti and Advaita Vedanta. Admiration for him amongst Bengali elites led to the formation of the Ramakrishna Mission by his chief disciple Swami Vivekananda, who acquired worldwide influence in the spread of modern Hinduism. Birth and childhood Ramakrishna was born on 17 February 1836, in the village of Kamarpukur, in the Hoogli district of West Bengal, into a very poor, pious, and orthodox brahmin family. Kamarpukur was untouched by the glamour of the city and contained rice fields, tall palms, royal banyans, a few lakes, and two cremation grounds. His parents were Khudiram Chattopadhyay and Chandramani Devi. According to his followers, Ramakrishna's parents experienced supernatural incidents and visions before his birth. In Gaya his father Khudiram had a dream in which Lord Gadadhara (a form of Vishnu), said that he would be born as his son. Chandramani Devi is said to have had a vision of light entering her womb from Shiva's temple. Ramakrishna's father died in 1843, after which family responsibilities fell on his elder brother Ramkumar. This loss drew him closer to his mother, and he spent his time in household activities and daily worship of the household deities and became more involved in contemplative activities such as reading the sacred epics. When Ramakrishna was in his teens, the family's financial position worsened. Ramkumar started a Sanskrit school in Calcutta and also served as a priest. Ramakrishna moved to Calcutta in 1852 with Ramkumar to assist in the priestly work. Vivekananda Among the Europeans who were influenced by Ramakrishna was Principal Dr. William Hastie of the Scottish Church College, Calcutta. In the course of explaining the word trance in the poem The Excursion by William Wordsworth, Hastie told his students that if they wanted to know its "real meaning", they should go to "Ramakrishna of Dakshineswar." This prompted some of his students, including Narendranath Dutta (later Swami Vivekananda), to visit Ramakrishna. Despite initial reservations, Vivekananda became Ramakrishna's most influential follower, popularizing a modern interpretation of Indian traditions which harmonised Tantra, Yoga and Advaita Vedanta. Vivekanda established the Ramakrishna order, which eventually spread its mission posts throughout the world. Monastic disciples, who renounced their family and became the earliest monks of the Ramakrishna order, included Rakhal Chandra Ghosh (Swami Brahmananda), Kaliprasad Chandra (Swami Abhedananda), Taraknath Ghoshal (Swami Shivananda), Sashibhushan Chakravarty (Swami Ramakrishnananda), Saratchandra Chakravarty (Swami Saradananda), Tulasi Charan Dutta (Swami Nirmalananda), Gangadhar Ghatak (Swami Akhandananda), Hari Prasana (Swami Vijnanananda) and others. Islam and Christianity In 1866, Govinda Roy, a Hindu guru who practised Sufism, initiated Ramakrishna into Islam. Ramakrishna said that he "devoutly repeated the name of Allah, wore a cloth like the Arab Muslims, said their prayer five times daily, and felt disinclined even to see images of the Hindu gods and goddesses, much less worship them—for the Hindu way of thinking had disappeared altogether from my mind."According to Ramakrishna, after three days of practice he had a vision of a "radiant personage with grave countenance and white beard resembling the Prophet and merging with his body". At the end of 1873 he started the practice of Christianity, when his devotee Shambu Charan Mallik read the Bible to him. Ramakrishna said that for several days he was filled with Christian thoughts and no longer thought of going to the Kali temple. Ramakrishna described a vision in which a picture of the Madonna and Child became alive and he had a vision in which Jesus merged with his body. In his own room amongst other divine pictures was one of Christ, and he burnt incense before it morning and evening. There was also a picture showing Jesus Christ saving St Peter from drowning in the water.

Royal Christenings Throughout the Years

Curious what Queen Elizabeth II's big day looked like? Us, too. Check it out—as well as the christenings of Prince William, Prince Harry, and more—below Queen Elizabeth II (1926) Yup, that tiny little thing on the right is the one-and-only Queen Elizabeth II on the day of her christening in 1926. The future matriarch is pictured with her parents George and Elizabeth, then the Duke and Duchess Of York, at the family's private chapel at Buckingham Palace. Her robe—which was first worn by Queen Victoria's daughter in 1841—was made of Honiton lace and Spitalfields silk Prince Charles (1948) A four-week-old Prince Charles was christened on December 15, 1948. Since the family's private chapel at Buckingham Palace had been dmagd in Wd Wr II, Charles' ceremony took place in the music room. The baby—who wore the same Honiton lace robe as his mother—was accompanied by eight godparents (including King George VI and Queen Mary) and was given the name Prince Charles Philip Arthur George. Prince William (1982) Prince William was christened on August 4, 1982 in the Palace's music room—just like Charles. And in the same fashion as the royal children before him, William was dressed in the traditional Honiton lace robe. Princess Alexandra (the queen's cousin) was one of six godparents assigned to the baby. Here, Will is pictured with parents Diana (who is wearing a ridiculously cool, super-'80s dress and hat) and Charles Prince Harry (1984) Prince Harry's christening was held on December 21, 1984 in St. George's Chapel and was followed by a reception at Windsor Castle. However, as seen here, a tiny Will stole the attention from Harry—who was clad in the traditional robe—entertaining the family (including the baby's six godparents) Princess Beatrice (1988) The royal family flocked to Princess Beatrice's christening at the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London on December 20, 1988. Here, Beatrice is pictured with her parents, Andrew and Sarah, the Duke and Duchess of York, as they chat with the Archbishop of York Princess Eugenie (1990) Two years after Beatrice's christening, Princess Eugenie was christened at St. Mary Magdalene (on Queen Elizabeth II’s Sandrigham Estate) on December 23, 1990. Here, Eugenie is bundled in the traditional robe, alongside her parents. Check out more videos of this channel to see more interesting things Please Like, comment, share and subscribe this channel. The heartwarming times the Queen has received a kiss from members of her family

When out and about, members of the royal family tend to limit their public displays of affection. Apart from Prince Harry and Meghan – who are the most tactile couple of the family, naw! – the Queen, her children and grandchildren only make the most subtle of gestures. The reasoning is that when the royals are carrying out engagements, they are strictly in work mode, representing Her Majesty and the British monarchy, so it would be unprofessional to always hold hands or embrace. But behind closed doors, the royals are just like any other family and during more light-hearted engagements, they greet each other with kisses. Prince Charles has been known to plant a kiss on his mother's hand on more than one occasion. Let's take a look at some of the Queen's sweetest PDA moments, starting with the monarch and the Duchess of Cambridge… The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge Fans are hardly ever treated to photos of Kate informally greeting the Queen, but on Christmas Day in 2013, the Duchess was snapped bending down to kiss her grandmother-in-law. the-queen-kisses-prince-william The Queen and Prince William Her Majesty received a kiss from her grandson Prince William in July 2004, after William competed in a polo match. Prince Charles also took part and was similarly pictured greeting his mother. the-queen-kisses-prince-harry The Queen and Prince Harry Prince Harry said a cheery hello to his grandmother after Peter Phillips and Autumn Kelly's wedding at St George's Chapel in Windsor in May 2008. Almost ten years later to the day, Harry married his wife Meghan in the same venue. prince-charlres-kisses-the-queen The Queen and Prince Charles We love this throwback photo of Prince Charles kissing his mother's hand at the polo in 1985. She paired it with a necklace, earrings, and a statement tiara Creative necklaces Who says a necklace has to rest on your collarbone? Diana found unique ways to wear her jewelry. In 1985, she wore an emerald choker of Queen Mary’s around her head as a headband on one occasion and let a pearl necklace fall backward between her shoulders to accentuate a backless dress at another. Colorful coat On a royal tour of Whales in 1982, Princess Diana stepped out in this gorgeous wool coat and blue hat. You can see how her sapphire ring stands out against the red of the coat Function and style Crummy weather shouldn’t keep you from looking your best. In her pre-wedding photos with Prince Charles, Diana wore green Hunter rain boots. The brand has seen a surge in popularity again in recent years, probably because they’re classic, timeless, and durable Flowy dress After giving birth to Prince William, Princess Diana stepped out in a flowy polka dot dress. Kate Middleton left the hospital in a similar looking dress after giving birth to her first child Show a little shoulder (but just one) Diana gravitated toward one-shoulder gowns that showed a little skin while staying modest Statement sleeves Princess Diana was the queen of statement sleeves—a popular ’80s trend that can be seen in some of her most iconic looks. The gravity-defying poufy sleeves can be seen on her wedding dress Princess look Diana wasn’t afraid to look like a girly girl, fully embracing her “princess” title. “At the beginning, her look was very ‘fairytale princess.’ There were lots of bows and frills,” Kerry Taylor, whose auction house auctioned ten of Diana’s dresses in 2013, has said. “She was the embodiment of every little girl’s fantasy of what it meant to be a princess.” Bold patterns Princess Diana didn’t shy away from bold outfits. She is seen here wearing a red and white polka dot patterned dress, a bright red blazer to match, and a white hat and red shoes Pairing casual with polished Diana is known for her fancy dresses and gowns, but she could work a dressed-down look, too. She paired a collared white shirt with light wash jeans when on a trip to Bosnia in 1997 Gold accents It’s hard to forget this strapless white and gold evening gown that Diana wore to a banquet in 1986. The long white gloves make her look especially poised. Beyond plain black tights Black stockings are a classic way to make an outfit more modest, but Diana pulled off unexpected twists on tights. At the 1985 Melbourne Cup, her black tights featured back seams that stretched through bow motif above the ankle, and on another occasion, she went monochromatic by wearing blue tights with a blue skirt Bring back old trends To visit her nation’s troops in 1995, Diana wore a pink skirt suit and pillbox hat à la Jackie O Floral dress Princess Diana looked gorgeous in this floral printed dress with a white blazer draped over her shoulders. Naruhito was presented with the Imperial sword and jewel, each in a box and wrapped in cloth on the day of his first official duty. Japanese emperors do not wear a crown so these items, along with a mirror, act as a symbol of imperial power. All the items used in the ceremony were duplicates, as the real objects are kept in shrines around the country and are never seen Other people in attendance were the king's brother Crown Prince Fumihito and his uncle Prince Hitachi. However, Emperor's wife Empress Masako and his daughter Princess Aiko, 17, were barred from the occasion, as only adult male royals were allowed to witness. He later gave a speech surrounded by all his close family members, including his wife Empress Masako In the speech, he pledged to follow in his father's footsteps. "When I think about the important responsibility I have assumed, I am filled with a sense of solemnity," he said. The royal ladies are just like us - they enjoy carrying some seriously chic (and not to mention expensive) arm candy. From Gucci and Chanel to Victoria Beckham and Bulgari, we have spied some stunning statement totes that Kate, Meghan, Camilla and Her Majesty the Queen have rocked over the years. Everyone knows a plush handbag is the perfect finishing accessory and we can safely say that looking at these pictures has made us want to invest, ASAP. Princess Diana enjoyed piecing together her stylish looks, and the mother of Princes William and Harry sported plenty of designer handbags in her day - and she even had two named after her. One bag she loved - and was constantly seen with - was her Gucci bamboo tote. And this image of her strolling down London’s Bond Street carrying it is truly iconic. meghan-markle-victoria-beckham-bag The Duchess of Sussex looked glowing on Christmas Day 2019, teaming her Victoria Beckham outfit with a retro-style Powder Box bag, also by VB's label. Although some onlookers compared it to an Apple Watch, the retro design caused a mass-sellout and it even had a secret mirror in the lid. Fancy! princess-beatrice-gucci-bag Princess Beatrice's nickname is believed to be 'B' and the daughter of Prince Andrew often pays homage to her namesake with bumble bees. In 2018 the redhead was pictured leaving her favourite private members club Annabel's in London, with the Gucci Queen Margaret GG mini bag, which you can pick up for £850. The bag featured the iconic metal bee with glass pearls and multicoloured crystals. Royal fashion faux pas! Fashion mishaps from Meghan Markle to Kate Middleton kate-middleton-chanel-bag The Duchess of Cambridge tends to sport a simple clutch bag in nude or black, so when she switches up her handbag collection, we always notice! On the royal visit to Sweden in 2018, the brunette beauty teamed her retro-style hounds-tooth coat with a burgundy vintage Chanel bag - stunning. meghan-markle-gucci-bag-black in April 2018, Meghan and Harry attended a reception for Women’s Empowerment at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London, and the former Suits star teamed her little black dress with the uber-trendy Gucci Dionysus clutch, complete with the snake-embossed clasp. the-queen-gold-handbag If you see HRH The Queen without her classic black Launer London handbag, we'd be very surprised. The monarch is rarely pictured rocking anything else, but in 2018 she brought the glamour with a fabulous gold version that turned heads. And check out the shine! lady-kitty-spencer-dog-instagram Princess Diana's niece Lady Kitty Spencer loves a designer handbag or two and in 2018 she sported the 'Serpenti Forever' leather shoulder bag' by Bulgari, which retails at a purse-busting £1680. The eye-catching design has the brand's iconic serpent head on the catch and includes a statement, lightning-bolt clasp. As an ambassador for the brand, we bet she has a fair few of these too... camilla-hand-bag At the Commonwealth Service earlier this month, the Duchess of Cornwall was seen carrying a sleek black clutch by mega-luxurious French fashion house Moynat - a classic trunk-maker that dates way back to 1849. The 'Gabrielle' bag is so exclusive that you can't even purchase it online - though the smaller version is listed for £3440. Yikes! meghan-markle-gucci During the 2018 tour of Australia, Meghan stepped out for a walkabout in Melbourne carrying her gorgeous Gucci ‘Sylvie’ mini bag, which is a scaled-down version of the brand’s larger design. These are the secrets behind their two-year long whirlwind romanc, according to The Diana Chronicles written by journalist Tina Brown She called him ‘The One’ It was love at first sight for Diana when she met Dr. Khan for the first time in 1995 at the Royal Brompton Hospital. He was treating her healer Oonagh Shanley-Toffolo’s husband, who had suffered a massive hemrhage during his triple bpass operation. After Khan left the room, she squealed like a school girl to Oonagh over the doctor’s gorgeous looks and caring eyes. “I found my peace,” Diana later confessed to one of her confidants after they started datng. “He has given me all the things I need.” She even had a nickname for him—Natty. She did whatever she could to win over his affections Diana completely immersed herself in his Pakistani culture. Her closet was filled with shalwar kameez, the colorful silk tunic and trousers that many Pakistani women traditionally wear. She made numerous trips to Pakistan to learn about his heritage and roots and considered converting to Islam for Khan. She’d sneak into the hospital to spend the night with him Diana and Khan would often have sleepovers in his small overnght room at the hospital after one of his late-night shifts.A few days later, the tabloid published a story with the headline “My Secret Nights as an Angel,” They didn’t consummate until after the dvorce The lovebirds started dating well before Diana and Prince Charles’ dvorce was finalized, but Khan’s morals as a Muslim made him draw the line at physical intmacy with a married woman. He never liked the limelight Despite being a well-respected heart doctor, Khan preferred to remain under-the-radar. But dating one of the world’s most prominent celebrities didn’t exactly keep him out of the limelight. He dreaded being an object of the public eye and had no desire to live the high life. Diana even offered to buy him a new car, but the humble doctor always refused her extravagant gifts. He especially didn’t want to be known in the tabloids as “Di’s New Guy.” She transformed a room in Kensington Palace for him Diana turned the former equerries’ room in her apartment at Kensington Palace into Khan’s very own basement den to relax and unwind in on his days off. He would often sit in his new man cave watching football while he drank a can of Heineken She liked to play housewife with him Diana enjoyed cooking dinner for Khan on the weekends when the staff was off. She wanted to have a secret marriage Paul Burrell, to ask a priest about the possibility of a secret marriage. Burrell visited the priest at the church where his son was an altar boy, but the news was quite grim. When Khan found out about Diana’s secret escapade, he said in aghast, “Do you honestly think you can just bring a priest here and get married?” He stopped speaking to her for three weeks If you publicly deny your relationship to the entire world like Diana did, you could get thrown into the doghouse for a long time. The Sunday Mirror was one of the first publication to ignite the rumor mill on their relationship. In an effort to do damage control and keep their romanc out of the spotlight, a pancked Diana called up a reporter at the Daily Mail to tell him that the Mirror’s story was completely fabricated. The newspaper reported that Diana was “understood to be deeply upset at the allegations because of the hurt they will do to William and Henry.” His family didn’t approve of her Diana’s former status as a royal princess still wasn’t good enough to win over the Khan family’s approval. You see, Khan was a Pathan, a group of people between Pakistan and Afghanistan notable for their frce loyalty to cultural traditions. After two failed attempts to marry Khan off to a suitable Muslim bride Daily Express, Khan’s father, Dr. Rashid Khan, made it very clear that She should at least be a Pakistani Muslim girl.” United Kingdon, England, Australia, New Zealand, United States, America, Canada, London, Philippines,

Surprisingly Frugal Habits of the British Royal Family
Credits : https://www.rd.com/culture/royal-family-spending/ Music : Fredji - Welcome Sunshine (Vlog No Copyright Music) Fredji - Flying High (Vlog No Copyright Music) Fredji - Happy Life (Vlog No Copyright Music) Surprisingly Frugal Habits of the British Royal Family Living like a queen (or king!) doesn’t require the paycheck of one Keeping breakfast simple When you imagine a royal breakfast, you probably picture an impressive spread of poached eggs, smoked salmon, exotic fruits, and endless pastries. Well, Queen Elizabeth knows what she likes, and it’s quite the frugal choice. She pours herself a bowl of a simple cereal like cornflakes or Special K—kept fresh in a plastic container instead of the box—to eat with fruit Reusing gift-wrap Biographer Kate Williams reveals that Queen Elizabeth doesn’t let used wrapping paper go to waste. Since she was young, Her Majesty has been saving gift-wrap and ribbons from the trash Recycling outfits Most people don’t think twice about outfit repeating, but the royal family but the royal family turns its nose at that wastefulness. Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth have both been known to wear the same outfit for more than one official engagement. Princess Anne, who has kept favorite outfits on her rotation for as long as 35 years Repairing instead of replacing With as much money as Queen Elizabeth has (find out how much everyone in the royal family is worth), you’d think a simple pair of worn-out gloves would be tossed in the trash. Opting for DIY With the world watching Kate Middleton’s 2011 marriage to Prince William, you’d think she would hire professionals to make her makeup TV-ready. Nope. The now-Duchess of Cambridge Cooking for themselves Live-in chefs aren’t the norm for every royal. Kate Middleton reportedly does most of the cooking for her family, including making Prince William’s favorite dinner: roast chicken. Prince Harry has also been spotted doing his own grocery shopping. Giving silly gifts This year, Meghan Markle reportedly gave Queen Elizabeth a singing hamster that made her future grandmother-in-law laugh out loud Flying economy While Queen Elizabeth won’t take commercial flights, her grandchildren have been spotted on them. Prince William was spotted flying coach on an American Airlines flight from Memphis to Dallas in 2014, and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle traveled economy on British Airways Cutting electricity costs With an estimated 40,000 lights in Buckingham Palace, electricity bills add up fast. That’s why in 2011, Queen Elizabeth posted signs around the building, ordering palace staff to turn lights off when they aren’t using them Wearing hand-me-downs Sure, Prince George and Princess Charlotte could afford to wear new, stylish clothing all the time—but William and Kate have other plans for their kids. Princess Charlotte has been spotted wearing shoes her uncle Prince Harry wore more than 30 years before, when he was two. Meanwhile, Prince George has worn an outfit that his dad had originally worn to Prince Harry’s christening back in 1984. Some things never go out of style Making use of leftovers Some rich families might toss any uneaten foods, but not the royals. Chef Carolyn Robb, who worked for Prince Charles and Princess Diana from 1989 to 2000, tells racked.com that the family didn’t put food to waste. Charles would request only being served as much as he could eat, and any leftovers would be incorporated into the next meal. Roast lamb, for instance, could be mixed into Shepard’s pie Shopping for inexpensive clothes While Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are no strangers to designer couture, they also know how to look chic on a budget. Royal watchers have spotted Kate wearing Gap and Zara pieces, while Meghan is reportedly a fan of Everlane and J.Crew. It’s no wonder their fashion choices tend to sell out so quickly Keeping beauty low-key Queen Elizabeth doesn’t reach for Dior nail polish when she wants a manicure. Instead, her nail color of choice is a drgstore brand that rings up at a cool $9 a bottle. Learn the exact color and brand of nail polish Queen Elizabeth always wears Giving up central heating While the royal family could probably afford central heating to keep all 775 rooms in Buckingham Palace warm, the Queen chooses to use space heaters (at least in certain rooms) instead. Perceptive royal watchers have noticed space heaters nestled in fireplaces in Buckingham and Balmoral Castle. With the units costing just £20 to £30 ($27 to $40) each, you can bet Her Majesty is saving a bundle—which must be a relief Keeping items as long as possible You might expect a frequent flier like Queen Elizabeth to invest in new luggage every trip—or at least, maybe once a decade. Once Her Majesty finds something she likes, though, she isn’t likely to let it go. The Queen apparently still uses the same Globe-Trotter suitcases that she bought for her honeymoon in 1947, according to the company’s website

The Duchess owns a wide array of outerwear in almost all styles, colours and silhouettes and looks amazing in whichever coat she dons, be it a chic buttoned-up number or sophisticated coat dress. The Duchess looked stunning on Christmas Day 2018 in this festive red coat by Catherine Walker with a gorgeous velvet collar and pocket detail. The royal matched her accessories to the coat too, with a red Bayswater clutch by Mulberry and a trusty pair of burgundy Gianvito Rossi heels. She teamed her outfit with a 'Halo band' headband by Jane Taylor London. kate middleton grey coat Kate chose this elegant grey coat dress by Catherine Walker for the sombre occasion of paying tribute to those who were tragically killed in the Leicester City Football Club helicopter crash in November 2018. The busy mum wore the outfit on a visit to Sweden and Norway in February 2018. red white coat We just loved Kate's vibrant red and white dog tooth patterned coat! She wore the gorgeous coat back in January 2018 on her tour of Sweden and Norway. Cute clutch bag too! Looking suitably stylish in bottle green, The Duchess opted for a bespoke Catherine Walker design as she visited France for two days during March 2017. The striking coat proved to be an eye-catching piece, particularly with the over-sized velvet collar and cuffs. She added co-ordinating bottle green shoes and a crocodile textured clutch. The Duchess of Cambridge looked stunning as she wore a strikingly bold, black classic double-breasted coat complete with statement gold buttons by British high-end designer Alexander McQueen, on Remembrance Sunday, 12 November. She teamed the military-inspired coat with a black fascinator and a red poppy. Duchess Kate showcased her chic, lady-like look in a double breasted twill blazer in periwinkle blue, by Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini. She wore the blazer with an all-black outfit, which pepped up the look and gave it a gentle pop of colour. The mother-of-two also has the design in a ravishing red. The pregnant mother-of-two visited the Commonwealth War Graves on the outskirts of Ypres, Belgium, and wore this stone-coloured, pastel coat by Catherine Walker, a designer that was a firm favourite of her late mother-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales. The coat boasts a lace hem with intricate embroidery, and a full-length zip. The Duchess looked particularly radiant and fresh in a white, knee-length coat by Goat. She wore the cover-up on a visit to Hornsey Road Children's centre in London on 14 November. She added a simple black clutch bag and on–trend long line boots by Stuart Weitzman. A bunch of blooms proved to be the perfect accessory! On 5 April, mother to Prince George and Princess Charlotte wore a daring choice of outerwear- a Missoni long-line coat that featured a bold, zig-zag pattern. The Duchess favours striking hues as opposed to patterns typically, so this fashion choice was a welcome change and suited her slim physique. Working one of her favourite variations on her coat collection- the coatdress, the pregnant wife of Prince William stepped out in a typical royal blue belted design by Eponine London as she visited the Anna Freud Centre for Children and families on 29 January. She held a Stuart Weitzman clutch and a simple silver watch. The pregnant duchess turned once again to one of her favourite designers Alexander McQueen, as she joined the Duke of Cambridge to mark 100 years since the Battle of Passchendaele on 31 July. The white coat dress included folder over lapels and a slim fit cut, with a defined waist

HH King Willem-Alexander turns the ripe old age of 50 on April 27. To mark the occasion, here are some random facts about the Dutch king. 1 Willem-Alexander was a ‘completely normal Dutch boy’, Dutch boys ‘Alle Nederlandse pers opgerot’ (all Dutch press buzz off) Willem-Alexander is crazy about sport, especially ones in which the Dutch excel, such as football and speed skating. 3 Still on the theme of sport, an 18 year-old Willem-Alexander rode out one of the toughest circuits in the Dutch skating calender, the Elfstedentocht in 1986. The Elfstentocht is a 200 kilometre skating race around the 11 cities of Friesland 4 Undeterred by his royal status Willem-Alexander the student – he showed himself to be ‘intelligent but not an intellectual’- became a bit of a lad. He drank a lot of beer, earning himself the nickname ‘Prins Pils’ and once drove his car into a canal in Leiden. He did manage to earn a degree in history. 5 Since 2012, the Dutch monarch has been cut out of the process to form a new government. However, WA has had some interesting jobs in the past. He was a member of the government advisory body SER , chairman of the Advisory Board on Water & Sanitation (UNSGAB) and had various fuctions within the Olympic Committee, all of which he had to give up when he became king in 2013. 6 Following in the family tradition, Willem-Alexander’s choice of spouse was controversial. His grandmother Juliana married a cad and a bounder and so did Juliana’s mother, queen Wilhelmina. Former queen Beatrix by contrast married a saint, albeit a German saint, the German nationality always being a little bit of a stumbling block for many Dutch. Willem-Alexander married Máxima, who is Argentine, on February 2, 2002. Unfortunately for her, Máxima’s father Jorge Zorreguieta served under dictator Jorge Videla and was banned from attending the wedding. 7 Although the monarchy is not a subject of much heated debate in the Netherlands, there is a Republican society which is quietly but determinedly promoting what it sees as a more democratic form of government. 8 Willem-Alexander does well in the popularity stakes and scored 7.3 in a 2016 poll, basically for being a nice person. Calling him a nice man is by far the safest way to go with the king. Call him anything else and you may well end up in prison or paying a fine. There is quite a long list of people who insulted a royal and paid the price. Anarchist Ferdinand Domela Nieuwenhuis was sentenced to six months in prison in 1887 for writing an article in which he called Willem III (Wilhelmina’s father) 9 It is, however, perfectly fine to portray the king in chocolate. The maker of a seven kilo royal head is going to present the king with his chocolate likeness on King’s Day. WA is also portrayed on a new ten euro commemorative coin featuring his head festooned with ribbons 10 Willem-Alexander and his family will be celebrating King’s Day in Tilburg this year. What activities he will actively take part in remains to be seen but he will be dining with 150 guests who share their birthday with the king. After the celebration the palace on the Dam in Amsterdam remains open for 50 hours for a bit of gawping by the rest of us. The king delivers his Christmas message to the nation. Photo: RVD 11 The king does not come cheap. The Dutch royal family is considered to be one of the most expensive in Europe, and costs the taxpayer some €40m a year, excluding security. Willem-Alexander does not have to pay tax on his salary of €880,000 and much of the royal family’s money is in foundations, which do not pay tax either. The taxpayer also picks up the bill for security, rebuilding palaces and the former queen’s yacht De Groene Draeck – which bizarrely is paid from the defence ministry budget. 12 The biggest revolution Willem-Alexander has brought about so far is moving the Netherlands’ great national jumble sale, where millions of items move from one attic to another, from April 30 to April 27. The latter is WA’s birthday and the former the birthday of his grandmother, former queen Juliana. In between queen Beatrix very considerately didn’t change the date to an even chillier January 31. Daughter and crown princess Amalia celebrates her birthday on December 7, which is not only likely to be chilly but is far too close to Sinterklaas and Christmas as well. Have a good King’s Day everyone and wrap up warm
