But a tiny mouse has been filmed tidying a pensioner's garden shed. Stephen Mckears, 72, noticed things moving in his shed in Severn Beach, South Gloucester a month ago. The retired electrician saw plastic clips appear in an old ice cream tub filled with peanuts which he keeps to feed the birds. Mr Mckears and his neighbour filmed the mouse tidying away the metal objects from around midnight to 2.30am - an activity it has been doing every night for around a month The mouse tidies away large bolts from the counter. Every day Mr Mckears would return to his shed to find the metal pieces had been moved into the tub overnight And each night more objects began to accumulate. Questioning his sanity, Mr Mckears emptied the tub, scattering the nuts and bolts across his shed, only to discover the mess had been cleaned by the morning. After weeks of finding large screws, plastic leads, nuts and bolts neatly filed away, he decided to set up a trail camera to uncover the mystery guest. He asked his neighbour Rodney Holbrook, 70, to help him film what was going on in his shed overnight. Mr Mckears and his neighbour were left baffled when the footage showed an adorable mouse busily tidying the shed - even attempting to lift objects twice his size. Mr Mckears asked his neighbour Rodney Holbrook, 70, to help him film what was going on in his shed in South Gloucester overnight The mouse gets ready to leap up and deposit this metal piece into the plastic tub Mr Mckears, from Severn Beach, South Gloucs., said: 'I've been calling him Brexit Mouse because he's been stockpiling for Brexit. 'The heaviest thing was the plastic attachment at the end of a hose pipe - and the chain of an electric drill. 'I didn't know what it was at first. The kids were saying it was a ghost. 'One day I emptied the tub out and spread the contents on the side - and the the next day they were all back in again. I thought I was going mad.' Over time more objects appeared in the tub Mr Holbrook, who lives just a few minutes drive from his friend, is a keen wildlife photographer and said he had to see the DIY mouse for himself. He said: 'I've been calling him Metal Mickey but some people have been saying he's just mouse proud. 'I was quite amazed to see it - it is an amazing mouse. 'Steve asked if he could use my trail camera to film whatever it was that was moving the objects in his shed. 'The mouse was chucking things into the box - we thought it was a ghost or something at first. I thought I have to see this for myself.' The pair filmed the mouse tidying away the metal objects from around midnight to 2.30am - an activity it has been doing every night for around a month. Stephen added: 'It was doing it for about two hours that night - he must have had to go for a sleep after it. 'I've seen a mouse moving objects to make a nest but never metal objects. At around 8.40am, Father Claude Grou was conducting the service at Saint Joseph's Oratory when the attacker, who has not been named, suddenly rushed at him from one of the pews. He ran towards the priest, slashing him twice in the chest before his knife broke. His wounds were only superficial as a result. Father Grou fell to the ground but got back up immediately as worshipers stood between him and the attacker to put distance between them until police arrived. The congregants held the attacker in place until police arrived to take him into custody. It remains unclear what his motive was. The attacker is shown in black clothes and a white hat approaching Father Grou as he conducted mass at the altar. The service was being televised As the man approached him, Father Grou (shown right) started edging away and another priest ran towards them. Witnesses said the priest started shouting for security The man in the white hat is shown (left) attacking Father Grou, knocking him to the ground, while another priest watches from the side (right) Other members of the congregation ran towards the priest to try to protect him after the attack. Traffic barrier falls to the ground like dominoes after jaywalker climbs onto it to cross the road

Tumbling like dominoes! Jaywalker triggers a spectacular #chain reaction when he tries to climb over a traffic barrier Railing comprising 30 barriers collapsed in the middle of a busy road The incident occurred after a pedestrian mounted the structure in China He wanted to take a shortcut to the other side by climbing over the fence But he fell back and his leg was stuck in a gap, causing the railing to fall By TRACY YOU FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 15:05 GMT, 15 March 2019 | UPDATED: 15:21 GMT, 15 March 2019 The last thing jaywalkers want is for everybody on that street to stare at them. A man who tried to take a shortcut while crossing a busy road in China was caught in one such awkward moment when he caused a massive traffic barrier to collapse. The railing comprised 30 separate traffic barrier which were tied together, according to local traffic police. The pedestrian climbs onto the railing as he tries to take a shortcut across the road in China Seconds later, he loses balances and fall backwards while one of his legs gets stuck in a gap As a result, the entire railing, comprising 30 separate barriers, collapse to the ground The road user was attempting to go to the other side of the road by climbing over the railing between traffic lanes. But as he mounted the temporary fence, he lost balance and fell backwards. One of his legs was stuck in a gap, which caused the entire railing to collapse from the middle. He tried to lift up the railing and put it back to place, but failed. The incident took place last month on Yuehua Road, a thoroughfare in the city of Shenzhen in southern China. The police said the pedestrian walked away after the failed jaywalk attempt. The police released footage of the incident today on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent to Twitter, to warn the public of the danger of disobeying traffic regulations. Shenzhen traffic police have released footage of a similar incident in the same location The video also featured another similar incident, which occurred in the same location the day before. The earlier event saw one man pushing over the railing in order to cross the road quickly in the wee hours. Zhuhai Traffic Police said they had identified the two men using facial-recognition cameras. They are now searching for them. The police said the two jaywalkers had been blacklisted and would be penalised. How do Chinese police catch criminals with facial-recognition sunglasses? In China, the police are now wearing sunglasses equipped with facial-recognition technology to catch criminal suspects. Transport police in Zhengzhou, central China, were given the cutting-edge gadgets in 2018 to screen passengers and spot suspects in crowds at train stations. A camera connected to the smartphone-like shades would allow the officers to take mugshots of the individual in question and compare them to a database back at headquarters. Transport police in Zhengzhou, central China were given the cutting-edge gadgets in February to screen passengers and spot suspects in crowds at train stations The system would then bring up the suspect's personal information including name, ethnicity, gender and address. All the information would be transferred back to the officer's glasses. The glasses can also tell officers whether or not the targets are on the run from the law, the address of any hotel they are staying at and information related to their internet usage. This is part of China's efforts to build a digital surveillance system that uses a variety of biometric data - from photos and iris scans to fingerprints - to keep close tabs on the movements of its 1.4 billion population. The technology has since allowed police in Zhengzhou to nab seven suspects. They were accused of crimes ranging from human trafficking to hit-and-runs. Another 26 people were caught using fake IDs, according to the state-owned People's Daily, quoting the city's police department. The facial recognition sunglasses system was expanded to Beijing in March as well, particularly at highway checkpoints on the city's outskirts. The smart glasses can pick up facial features and car registration plates, and match them in real-time with a 'blacklist' of suspects, according to Reuters. The rapid development of the technology has triggered a demand for commercial applications as well, with gyms, restaurants and even public toilets getting in on the facial recognition game. Cobra lays 14 eggs in the middle of a street after scared local drives it out of his home in India

Fassscinating! Cobra lays 14 eggs in the middle of a street after scared local drives it out of his home in India Teacher captures moment snakes lays eggs on busy south India road Seen watching over them in defensive coiled position in case of predators The snake was later caught and moved to nearby forest to hatch her babies By WILLIAM COLE and MILLY VINCENT FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 18:45 GMT, 22 March 2019 | UPDATED: 19:18 GMT, 22 March 2019 This is the stunning moment a cobra lays eggs on a busy street in South India. Shocked passersby watched as the pregnant snake laid 14 eggs in less than an hour. The footage was taken by a teacher in Maddur town in Karnataka, who spotted the deadly cobra inside his home and cautiously drove it outside. Unsure what to do with the road bound snake the man called Prasanna Kumar, a local snake expert, to come and rescue the snake. As Prasanna came, the cobra made its way into the street in front of the home and started laying eggs. Prasanna caught the snake later and released it in a nearby forest. He took the eggs with him and said the snakelings would be released after they hatch. Usually laying between 20 to 40 eggs its likely the snake would have gone on to lay several more when released into the forest The Cobra's eggs are not solid as they are laid to make it easier for the snake to move them through the body After being exposed to air the eggs harden to protect the snakelings The egg can be seen moving down the snake's muscular body towards the vent where the eggs are laid Cobras are a poisonous type of snake who are unable to hold their fangs down to immobilize prey so instead inject them with venom. Female Cobras can lay anywhere from 20-40 eggs so it is most likely that the mother snake had not finished laying her hatch when she was moved. In the footage the egg can clearly be seen moving down the body of the snake and out of the vent. The vent serves as the only opening for snakes to release bodily excretions. How snake venom can paralyse your muscles, poison your organs and stop your heart Snake venom is made up of nerve toxins which can block or over-stimulate the nervous system and kill. When the nerve toxins are injected into the blood, they cause paralysis of muscles required for breathing. Depending on the snake, paralysis may be very rapid or take up to ten hours. The Black Mamba's venom is primarily composed of potent neurotoxins that may cause a fast onset of muscle paralysis Snake venoms start their paralysing effects on the muscles around the eyes (typically manifest as fixed dilated pupils, reduced eye movements and droopy eyelids). If not treated with antivenom, these early signs will eventually be followed by increasing difficulty talking, swallowing and, ultimately, breathing. Another potentially lethal effect of snakebite, rarely seen with other types of venoms, is altered blood clotting. Most of Australia’s dangerous snakes have toxins in their venom that cause the body to destroy factors that help clot blood. A more insidious effect is muscle destruction known as myotoxicity. While not as quick as the effect on blood clotting, heart function or nerve signalling, myotoxicity can also be lethal. Typically, #snake venom toxins dissolve the membrane of muscle cells. Not only is this a painful experience, it also causes the muscle protein, known as myoglobin, to leak into the urine, potentially poisoning the kidneys in the process. Myotoxicity can also lead to massive increases in blood potassium levels, leached from the injured muscle cells. This effect can itself cause fatal damage to the normal rhythm of the heart. Although many venoms have evolved to rapidly paralyse and digest prey, another important venom action is defence. Aside from the physical trauma to the skin from a bite or a sting, these venoms frequently contain toxins that act in various ways to injure cells, trigger inflammation and even kill skin cells. All of this can cause severe pain. Ms Cheng's life was completely changed after one classmate took her to watch a bodybuilding competition when she was in secondary school. She found the female contestants beautiful Apparently, Ms Cheng has been teased by some people after posting videos and pictures of her ripped figure online. 'Many people say they can't understand me, they can't understand why a young woman like me would want to look muscular. They even say I wouldn't be able to find a husband in the future. 'But I think different people are exposed to different social networks, therefore we all have different sense of beauty and value. 'I hope to achieve a healthy body and encourage people around me to do so too,' she said. Like many girls and young women in China, Ms Cheng loves pink and often dresses in a 'kawaii', or cute, style. She says she was also very shy before she started working out Ms Cheng is pictured with her classmates at the Shenyang Sport College where she studies Ms Cheng's current goal is to attend more professional bodybuilding competitions. Her best result so far has been the fourth place at last year's Bodybuilding National Championship held by the China Body Building Association. 'I have two work-out sessions every day to exercise different parts of my body, including my chest, shoulders, back, arms and thighs.' In particular, Ms Cheng wants to improve the shape of her backside in order to attend the Chinese equivalent of the Miss BumBum competition. She has already took part in a similar local contest. 'I don't have any physical advantages compared to other bodybuilders. That's why I have to try harder.' Ms Cheng is not the only doll-faced bodybuilder who has impressed the internet. In 2015, Russian powerlifter Julia Vins' shot to fame with her unusual blend of wide-eyed beauty and Hulk-like torso. The innocent-faced young woman, who was only 18 at the time, claimed to be able to deadlift 180 kilograms (400 pounds) - the average weight of a male lion. Ms Vins, who was born in the city of Engels, said: 'People know me as "muscle Barbie" - I like this comparison. It's nice. 'I have these big, beautiful eyes and wear make-up. But at the same time, I'm strong. 'I can deadlift 180kg in training. I want to become as big as possible.' All 27 crew members aboard were rescued by the British military, though French authorities quickly began to clean up an oil spill caused as a result of the sinking. The vessel ran aground on March 12 about 150 nautical miles southwest of Brest, France, at a depth of 15,000 feet beneath the surface of the ocean. German automaker Porsche confirmed on Tuesday that the doomed vessel was carrying four models of the 911 GT2 RS. Each vehicle carries a retail price of about $293,200. The Stuttgart-based company wrote a letter to its Brazilian customers informing them that they would reproduce the model especially for them. ‘We are sorry to inform you that, due to a fire, a Grimaldi group ship, that was transporting your vehicle, sank on March 12, 2019,’ the company wrote to its customers. ‘And for that reason, your GT2 RS can not be delivered. ‘As you may know, Porsche ended the 911 GT2 RS production on February 2019 and under normal circumstances, it wouldn’t be possible to give you another car. ench authorities are working to contain an oil spill off the Atlantic Coast after the Italian tanker sank following a fire The Italian-registered vessel had been bound for Casablanca from Hamburg when the fire broke out at 8pm on March 10 The 27 sailors rescued were then taken to the French port of Brest and while there were no life-threatening injuries, some required hospital treatment The crew of HMS Argyll spent eight hours saving every soul aboard the Grande America in the Bay of Biscay after the ship's cargo of containers and cars caught fire The lifeboat carrying the members of the crew is seen in the foreground while the burning cargo ship is seen in the background The Royal Navy responded to a mayday from the 28,000-ton merchant ship about 150 miles southwest of Cape Finisterre ‘But, due to the nature of the situation, and considering that you’re a loyal and highly valuable customer for our brand, Porsche has decided to resume the GT2 RS production in Germany, and your vehicle will be produced in April, with delivery scheduled for June. ‘We recommend that you contact your local Porsche Center for further information.’ In addition to the 911 GT2 RS, Porsche had a number of other models that were lost at sea. They include 718 Caymans, Boxters, and Cayennes. However, the father-of-two was left 'heartbroken' when he reviewed footage from last Tuesday and saw his family's beloved seven-year-old rescue dog, Pupa, writhing around in pain as a postman approaches his San Diego home. On closer inspection, Galindo noticed the postman appeared to spray something from a canister at the poodle-mix's face, as he barks excitably from behind a secure gate. Pupa is first seen barking excitably at the gate, as the postman approaches the San Diego home Suddenly Pupa turns away and begins rubbing her face on the ground The seven-year-old rescue writhes around on the floor for several moments, clearly in a great deal of pain Alfonso Galindo (left) says the footage left him absolutely heartbroken, calling the postman's actions 'criminal' and a breach of trust Inspecting the footage from multiple angles, Galindo spotted the postman carrying a canister in his hand, believed to be pepper-spray A helpless Pupa then turns away and begins desperately rubbing her face into the pavement. Galindo said he reviewed security footage from the past month and found at least nine other incidents where pupa 'convulses in some sort of ritual pain' as the postman passes the gate. 'Never did I suspect the mailman. Never did I suspect somebody that you trust with your mail, with your packages,' Galindo said to KNSD. 'It was heartbreaking, it was really heartbreaking.' 'I'm at a loss for words,' he added. 'It makes me sick to my stomach.' In hindsight, Galindo said he noticed on a number of occasions that Pupa had blood-shot eyes but it always went away soon after. He also says that his two children, Alfonso Jr., three, and Regina, one - who both regularly interact with Pupa - have both developed serious respiratory issues in the last six-months, which he now believes has been triggered by chemicals from the pepper spray in the dog's fur. 'I get livid thinking about it. This is the health of my children' Galindo told WDSU. 'I believe what he's done to my family is criminal.' Galindo first grew suspicious something strange was happening at the home when he noticed a stain pattern emerging on the floor of his driveway - he said he never expected the postman As a result of the chemicals on Pupa's fur, Galindo said both of his children - Alfonso Jr. (left), three, and Regina (right), one - have developed serious respiratory issues over the past six months, as they regularly interact with the dog After Galindo complained to USPS last week, the delivery company issued a statement on Tuesday following an internal investigation. 'On behalf of the United States Postal Service, we want to apologize to the Galindo family and Pupa,' the statement read. 'We do not condone our employees behaving in a manner which is not professional and courteous. The appropriate personnel and corrective action will be taken as well as training given to all local letter carriers.' The postman in question hasn't been named. It's not yet clear if he will face any charges in relation to the attacks. San Diego police have asked anyone in the area who believes their dog may have also been pepper-sprayed to call them on (619)-531-2000. The juvenile male Cuvier’s beaked whale was seen by locals - still barely alive - floating in the shallows after it washed ashore at Compostela Valley, the Philippines on March 16 just after 5am. Environmental officials were called and arrived at 11am but the whale had died moments earlier. he dying Cuvier's beaked whale was seen floating in the water locals in the Compostela Valley region of the Philippines The necropsy found 16 rice sacks, four plastic bags from banana plantations, multiple shopping bags and numerous other pieces of plastic packaging inside the whale's stomach American marine biologist Darrell Blatchley (pictured) said this was the most plastic his team had ever seen in a whale Darrell demanded action from the government and harsher punishments for those who dump rubbish in the ocean They then began the grim task of establishing the cause of death. Workers were horrified when they found hundreds of plastic items in the whale's stomach, including 16 rice sacks, four plastic bags used in banana plantations, multiple shopping bags, and hundreds of other small pieces of plastic packaging. ll of the items had been floating in the ocean before being swallowed by the marine creature, causing its death. Whales and dolphins often ingest plastic and other pollution from the sea, mistaking them for food. Darrell told local news outlets that it is not unusual for whales and dolphins to die from ingesting plastic pollution from the sea Workers were horrified by the contents of the dead whales stomach, which was mostly man-made packaging that was floating in the ocean before being swallowed by the marine creature The enormous mass of plastic found inside the whale weighed around 80 pounds Staff from the country's Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Fishery Management Regulatory Division performed a necropsy on the whale to find out the cause of death. The operation was led by Dr Elaine Belvis and American marine biologist Darrell Blatchley who owns D'Bone Collector Museum. Darrell said: 'Finding the whale like this was tragic. It's so sad to see the effect humans are having on sea life. The dying marine creature washed ashore Compostela Valley in the Philippines on March 16 just after 5am, but was dead before environmental officials arrived Davao City-based Darrell shared the photographs on Facebook yesterday, saying he would soon release a full list of the plastic items found inside 'This whale had the most plastic we have ever seen in a whale. It's disgusting. Action must be taken by the government against those who continue to treat the waterways and ocean as dumpsters.' Darrell said workers would continue sifting through the whales guts to identify the plastic which had clogged its stomach. McDonalds customer buys 'indestructible' pancake

The McDonald's McRock! 'Indestructible' pancake bought at fast-food restaurant is so tough, man who bought it can't break it even by throwing it off a building or driving over it McDonald's customer tried to break the snack with a metal fork and screwdriver It remained intact even after it was run over by a car and dropped off a building A Facebook user calling himself Edwin Edl shared the footage taken in Singapore By TIM STICKINGS FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 09:39 GMT, 26 March 2019 | UPDATED: 10:34 GMT, 26 March 2019 A McDonald's customer claims he was sold an 'indestructible' pancake which even survived being run over by his car. A Facebook user going by the name of Edwin Edl shared footage of the apparently rock-hard snack he received at a branch of the fast-food chain in Singapore. Trying to cut into the McGriddles sandwich, he has no luck with a metal fork or a screwdriver and even finds the pancake intact after dropping it off a building. Describing it as a 'Sausage McRock' he said he had not frozen or done anything to the snack. 'Indestructible': A McDonald's customer shared these clips of himself trying to cut into a pancake, which was so hard that a plastic and metal fork were each bent out of shape In the first of three videos, 'Edwin' prods on the sandwich with his fingers to no effect before picking up a plastic fork, which easily bends. He tries the rear end of the implement but after making no impact on the pancake it snaps and almost breaks in two. The screwdriver makes a few dents but he has no more luck with a metal fork, which turns into a U-shape after its prongs had been bent out of line. After that he hacks at the rock-solid pancake with a meat cleaver, again achieving no results, before finally succeeding in hammering a small into the snack. The metal fork appeared to have been completely bent out of shape (left) before he finally made a hole with a hammer and nail (right) The customer hacked at the food with a meat cleaver (left) but could not cut through and failed to make a hole with a screwdriver (right), instead prodding frustratedly with the tool itself He then moves on to more extreme methods, posting a second video in which the wheel of a car drives straight over the pancake without squashing it. In a desperate last attempt the pancake is thrown off the roof of a tall building but is still intact when he finds it at the foot of a staircase. Posting on Facebook, he said: 'This is way too funny for me not to share! But thank you McDonald's for making my day.' He added: 'For those who are asking, I did not put into the freezer or do anything to it. It came the way it is.' McGriddles sandwiches are served between two small pancakes made with maple flavouring. Desperation: The customer tries running over the pancake with the wheel of his car (left) but is dismayed to find it is still intact afterwards (right) Last resort: The customer tries throwing the McGriddles sandwich off the roof of a tall building (left) but it apparently still does not break (right) Share or comment on this article: #McDonalds_customer buys '#indestructible' pancake #online

The dashcam footage, which was shared by Thames Valley Police, shows the driver of a white Volkswagen Sirocco sitting in the middle lane of the M1 motorway. The lorry next to them, driven by Zbigniew Kaczorowski, 55, from Poland, then tries to turn into the lane and instead crashes into the side of the car, near its rear wheel. Ghost 'unbolts' garden gate in West Sussex and it's all caught on camera

01:02
Someone on 'the other side'? CCTV shows 'bolted' garden gate open by itself and ghostly orb fly off... and mother thinks it's a message from her dead father-in-law Anya Clark, 37, from Pulborough, West Sussex, 'can't dispute' night-time footage 'Latched' gate mysteriously opens while all else seems calm in the garden Ms Clark thinks it could be linked to her husband Phil's father, Mark Damario, who died in September 2018 Could the deceased be trying to make his presence known since his funeral? By NICK ENOCH FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 11:38 GMT, 18 March 2019 | UPDATED: 11:42 GMT, 18 March 2019 A shocked mother believes CCTV caught the moment the ghost of her late father-in-law could have visited her family home - as their 'bolted' garden gate suddenly opens on its own. Anya Clark, 37, from Pulborough, West Sussex, claims she 'can't dispute' the footage that appears to show the gate creep open - and an 'orb' fly across the lawn moments later. The video, which was recorded shortly after 8pm on January 27, shows the empty garden in a state of calm - until the gate appears to unlatch itself and swing open. Not an open and shut case: Anya Clark, 37, from Pulborough, West Sussex, claims she 'can't dispute' the footage that appears to show her garden gate creep open as if a spectre has opened it - and an 'orb' fly across the lawn moments later. She is pictured with her husband, Phil Damario Ms Clark believes that less than a second later, the CCTV shows an orb shoot off from the lawn near a sundial. The mother-of-three and her husband Phil Damario, 37, reviewed the footage when they noticed the gate was open and were 'creeped out'. However, the family believe the strange event could be linked to Phil's father, Mark Damario, who died in September 2018 - and think he could have been trying to make his presence known since the morning of his funeral. Gateway to another dimension? The CCTV, which was recorded shortly after 8pm on January 27, shows the empty garden - initially in a state of calm How extar-orbinary: The gate then appears to unlatch itself and steadily open. Seconds later, an 'orb' shot off into the sky from the lawn, next to the sundial, according to Ms Clark Ms Clark said: 'It's very odd. Everybody who has seen it, and even friends of mine who are really sceptical, are convinced by it. 'Our neighbour quite often opens the gate at the side of the house to borrow the wheelbarrow. We got home in the evening and we saw the gate was open. Neither of us had been out and we wondered if the neighbour had forgotten to close the gate. 'So we reviewed the #CCTV and there it was. It was like - wow. The gate opened. 'You have to lift it up with your foot to lock it, and if it isn't bolted tight it just swings right open straight away. It can't be pulled to and just left because it won't stay closed, so that's how I know it would be locked. 'We were a little bit creeped out when we saw it. We've never had anything like that before. We've lived here for almost three years and had nothing [like this in that time]. 'The garden was so still - you can see the plants and there's nothing [moving]. It's just the way it suddenly opens. The gate was bolted. It was definitely 110 per cent bolted. It's a really stiff bolt. Hello from the other side? The family believe the strange event could be linked to Phil's father, Mark Damario (pictured), who died in September 2018 - and think he could have been trying to make his presence known since the morning of his funeral 'I don't know if I believe in ghosts. I suppose I am a little bit of a sceptic, but this has made me wonder.' The gate was the latest in a line of unexplained occurrences in their house - including the TV remote moving from the bed to the other side of the room as Ms Clark bent down to pick something up on the morning of her father-in-law's funeral. 'My daughter put the funeral programme on her bedside table and she kept asking me, "Are you moving it? Are you moving Grandad's picture?". 'I told her I wasn't. She keeps saying it has been moved all the time, so it could be completely unrelated.' Despite the unexplained events in their household, Ms Clark claims they take comfort that it could be Mark. She said: 'Who knows if it's his dad. It is just these coincidences really that since he passed these things have happened. 'Even when he was around, he used to love the garden. He used to go out there and talk to my partner about what he had been up to and be having a chat about what he would be doing in the garden next. 'It's a nice thought that it could be him.' The deadly snake, which can grow to be more than six feet long, was curled around the U-bend and the five-year-old girl had used the toilet without seeing it. Her mother, Juliette Roos, shouted for help and her husband Johan rushed into the cubicle to battle the surprise reptile with a curtain rail. But the Mozambique spitting cobra slid off the rail and back down the U-bend, in footage filmed at a campsite in North West Province, South Africa. Ms Roos, from Pretoria, said: 'It was very scary and something that only ever happens in movies. My unaware daughter had just used the toilet. 'It was only when she had finished I saw the snake's head protruding from the bowl. I went ice cold and didn't want my daughter to panic so told her not to turn round.' The couple and their young son and daughter were camping in North West Province and came across the snake in the communal toilet block. Husband Johan said: 'I thought I would encounter a spider in the bathroom but I definitely did not to expect to find a snake in the toilet. It sent shivers down my spine'. Surprise: The Mozambique spitting cobra curled around the U-bend of the toilet, in the communal toilet block of a campsite in South Africa He tried to hook the snake out with a curtain rail but watched as it slithered away down the U-bend. He said: 'We decided to leave it in peace'. Durban-based snake expert Byron Zimmerman confirmed the toilet snake was a Mozambique spitting cobra. He told News24:'How it got into the toilet is anyone's guess. I suspect it went in from the top rather than coming in round the pipe. 'These #snakes are highly venomous and their venom is cytotoxic, causing massive swelling and loss of tissue and is the most common venomous species in eastern South Africa. Deadly: A Mozambique spitting cobra, seen here in a file photo, can grow to more than six feet 'They spit their venom as well, so eye protection is advised if dealing with them' he said. The snakes grow to more than six feet, spit venom up to 10 feet and their bite can cause death if medical treatment is not quickly given. The campsite management were alerted to the slithery intruder but it is not known if they found it. Relieved Ms Roos added:'I will never go to the toilet ever again without looking twice!' 'The suspect, surnamed Chen, was travelling on the bus with her two-year-old son when the boy said he needed to go to the bathroom,' an unnamed police officer told video news site Pear. In a similar incident, a man in Yinchuan was caught dragging a bus driver by his arms and grabbing the steering wheel after he missed his stop. He was convicted of endangering public safety by dangerous means in a court and was sentenced to three years and two months in prison. There were 223 criminal cases involving disputes between passengers and bus drivers from 2016 to Oct 31 last year, according to Xinhua news agency citing the Supreme People's Court. Nearly 30 per cent of passengers involved were found to have grabbed the steering wheel from drivers, the report added. About 60 per cent of the disputes were caused by misunderstanding over charging and the location of bus stops. Nearly 70 per cent of offenders were passengers, and about 20 per cent were drivers. And his latest video shows him swaying in the breeze from a London tower block, with only his grasping fingertips preventing him from falling on to the Elephant and Castle street below. More stomach-churning footage shows the gymnast 'walking the plank' across thin metal beam in another attempt to give his fans 'mini heart-attacks'. Elvis Bogdanovs, 20, is risking his life in increasingly dangerous stunts in a bid to terrify his viewers. His latest stunt saw him dangle from a 300ft tower block by one hand Elvis and his friend Matthew Adams, 26, climbed the 35-storey tower to watch the sunset and create a video he hoped would have the effect of a 'horror movie'. The daredevil, from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, said: 'It's a mental thing - it's all about fear. I clearly lack that fear. 'I don't have that barrier to prevent me doing stunts efficiently. Whenever I'm doing my stunts people tell me that they get electricity running down their fingers or spine, or it makes their legs go weird. 'I've enjoyed giving people mini heart attacks. 'I want to create the same reaction as a horror movie in people - I want them to feel on edge. 'It's not that people want me to fall - but they watch to see what happens next. Even if it turns their stomachs, they have to watch until the end. 'They can never switch off half way. I want to bring that out in people through my videos.' Last Sunday, the friends reached the top of the skyscraper just before sunset to ensure they were not disturbed. With his arms outstretched, Elvis walks across the beam. Even a temporary loss of balance will send him tumble the 35-storey drop But Elvis, who has been practising parkour for most of his life and cranked up his training regime 18 months ago, has now warned others not to copy his epic stunts. He said: 'I was looking for a little ledge where I could put my fingertips and dangle off it. 'It was the most incredible sunset I have ever seen in London. It was stunning. I was looking for the perfect spot where people watching could see my fingertips and the drop clearly underneath me. 'The climb's a much simpler task if you know what you're doing, but I absolutely would not advise people to copy this. 'I've essentially been training my whole life, but it got more serious a year and a half ago when I started dangling from cranes and buildings. The daredevil, from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, believes that the secret to his stunts is a lack of fear Elvis has been practising callisthenics - a street version of gymnastics - for four years which has allowed him do his daring stunts such as a handstand on a roof edge He says that he does not lift weights or go to the gym but just trains at home doing handstands and pull ups 'I started doing callisthenics - a street version of gymnastics - around four years ago. 'It involves body weight exercises, so I don't lift weights. I only train at home and do handstands and pull-ups. 'I've been doing rock climbing almost every day for a whole year. It's an extreme form of exercise. 'I've never had any near-misses and would never do anything where I'd be close to falling and failing. 'My finger strength is incredible - I could hold the position for more than 30 seconds if I wanted to.' Elvis added: 'The reaction to the video has been amazing. 'I never get anything that's bad though. People always praise it. 'They enjoy watching the videos. It's a lot to do with the psychological anticipation.' A stomach-churning photo shows Elvis's view down as he 'walks the plank' across a narrow beam on top of a block of flats The hair-raising footage was captured last Sunday to the backdrop of a beautiful London sunset. #Kim_Jong_un 'purges his personal #photographer for damaging his "supreme dignity" by blocking a crowd's view of him for just THREE seconds' Photographer, known by surname Ri, was fired after incident during 'elections' He was booted from Workers' Party of Korea, making him second-class citizen Just last month he was trusted to attend summit with Donald Trump in Vietnam By DIANNE APEN-SADLER FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 08:42 GMT, 22 March 2019 | UPDATED: 09:03 GMT, 22 March 2019 #online Kim Jong-un has reportedly purged his personal photographer for damaging his 'supreme dignity' by blocking the crowd's view of him for just three seconds. The man, identified only by his surname Ri, was fired after he scrambled for better snaps of the dictator during so-called elections. According to Pyongyang sources, he was guilty of 'adjusting the angle so that the camera's flash covered the Dear and Respected Supreme Leader Comrade's neck'. He was also blamed for violating two further rules – one banning photography within two metres of the tyrant, and another prohibiting pictures or video from being taken directly in front of him. Kim Jong-un's personal photographer, known only by his surname Ri, has been purged after he stood in front of the dictator to get a better snap during North Korea's so-called elections As a result, the 47-year-old photographer was fired from his job and booted out of the Workers' Party of Korea – effectively rendering him a second-class citizen. It's a hefty fall from grace for a man who, only a month ago, was trusted to document the summit with Donald Trump in Hanoi, Vietnam. The incident occurred when Kim Jong-un made a public appearance during North Korea's so-called elections on March 10. The dictator had arrived to cast his vote and, when he stopped to wave at the crowd, Ri stepped in front of him to take a photo. Another camera behind the crowd captured the exact moment Ri's fate was sealed and the footage was later broadcast on state television. It's a hefty fall from grace for a man who, only a month ago, was trusted to document the summit with Donald Trump in Hanoi, Vietnam (pictured) A source familiar with the situation spoke to South Korea-based online newspaper, Daily NK, and said the faux-pas was considered an 'anti-Party act of damaging the Supreme Dignity of our Party'. Another source told the paper that Ri had been fired almost instantly. They said: 'The head photographer, who had been at the scene, told Ri that the video he took right in front of Kim Jong-un was a "video that damages the Supreme Dignity", and fired him.' Elections in North Korea are generally considered to be a sham, with the ruling Workers' Party recently winning an improbable 607 of the 687 available seats in the Supreme People's Assembly. The other two main parties are both allied to the Workers' Party and only one candidate appears on each ballot – and though their name can be crossed out, doing so is thought to be treasonous. Another 30 people are said to be seriously injured in the massive blast which shattered the windows of nearby buildings. The blast took place about one kilometre (0.6 mile) away from a kindergarten and 'some children sustained injuries', according to state broadcaster CCTV. It remains unclear if any of the children have been pronounced dead. A screen grab from footage released by state broadcaster CCTV shows the massive blast sending a giant fireball into the sky at a chemical plant in Yancheng, eastern China, today Other social media pictures appear to show local residents having blood on their face and factory workers leaving the site with plumes of black smoke in the background China News reported the explosion was caused by a chemical called benzene, citing a worker at the emergency call centre. According to WHO, exposure to benzene, a liquid and highly inflammable chemical, could cause major health issues in humans, including cancer. Authorities are monitoring the environment and paramedics are treating wounded locals, according to the latest social media post from the local government. The local weather condition is said to have been windy, which helped the thick smoke and dust to spread. It is said officials have collected samples of the air and water and evacuated nearby residents. The explosion has brought 'a fairly big impact' on the air quality, according to the statement, which did not name the chemical. Medical staff, as well as personnel from the public security bureau and fire department have been sent to the scene, they added. China News reported the explosion was caused by a highly inflammable chemical, benzene Authorities are monitoring the environment and have collected samples of the air and water, according to the latest social media post from the local government of Yancheng The Jiangsu fire-fighting bureau sent 35 fire brigades, 86 fire engines and 389 firefighters to the scene, it said in a statement. Video footage published by state-run Beijing News on Weibo, showed an enormous explosion, with flames engulfing the top of the chemical plant. Other shots showed thick grey smoke billowing skyward from the site of the blast. Footage from state broadcaster CCTV showed windows of nearby houses blown out from the force of the explosion. The explosions caused more than $1 billion in damage and sparked widespread anger at a perceived lack of transparency over the accident's causes and its environmental impact. #China_chemical_plant_explosion Share or comment on this article: #China chemical plant explosion leaves at least 6 dead and 30 injured #online

Aaron Campbell sentenced to 27 years for Alesha MacPhail murder

'All I thought about was KILLING her': Horrifying confession of #Alesha_MacPhail's 'remorseless' killer, 16, is revealed - as six-year-old's mother screams 'vile rat' as he's jailed for life for sickening rape and murder Alesha's body was found in woods on the Isle of Bute on July 2 last year Aaron Campbell was convicted at the High Court in Glasgow last month Judge says he 'violated and murdered' Alesha in the 'most brutal fashion' He received £14,000 in legal aid, more than 13 times spent by prosecution By MARK DUELL FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 09:41 GMT, 21 March 2019 | UPDATED: 12:18 GMT, 21 March 2019 #Alesha_MacPhail_teenager_killer #online The 'evil' 16-year-old boy who abducted, raped and murdered six-year-old Alesha MacPhail was today locked up for at least 27 years after admitting his crimes. Alesha's body was found in woods on the Isle of Bute, hours after she was reported missing from the house her father shared with his parents and partner on the island. Aaron Campbell was convicted at Glasgow High Court on February 21 when a jury found him guilty unanimously after a nine-day trial over her death on July 2 last year. He had denied the murder, but his defence lawyer Brian McConnachie QC revealed at a sentencing hearing today that he has now admitted it in a social work report. Judge Lord Matthews said Campbell had 'violated and murdered' Alesha in the 'most brutal fashion', adding that he had shown a 'staggering lack of remorse' in the trial. As guards led Campbell - who was 'entertained by rape' - down to the cells, Alesha's mother Georgina Lochrane, 23, shouted out: 'F***ing disgusting vile little rat'. Aaron Campbell (left) was convicted last month over the death of Alesha MacPhail (right) Judge Lord Matthews revealed the killer said in a report 'it took everything to stop him laughing' at points of the trial, and added: 'All I thought about was killing her.' Sentencing Campbell, Lord Matthews said he was a cold and calculated individual who had shown 'not a flicker of remorse' during the trial. He said: 'You went into the house and then her bedroom, you removed her from there and took her to a secluded spot where you raped and murdered her in the most brutal fashion. 'It's difficult to imagine the distress her family must have suffered.' He sentenced him to detention without limit and ordered him to serve at least 27 years behind bars but warned he may never be released. After the sentence was read out family members shouted 'evil' and 'beast' as Campbell was led down to the cells. Judge Lord Matthews said social work and psychologist reports 'had painted a clear picture of a cold, callous, calculating, remorseless and dangerous individual'. Mr McConnachie QC said the 16-year-old had admitted responsibility for the rape and murder of Alesha in background reports ordered by the judge. Alesha's father Robert MacPhail hugs his girlfriend Toni McLachlan outside the court today Judge Lord Matthews told Glasgow High Court in his sentencing remarks today (pictured) that Campbell had 'violated and murdered' Alesha in the 'most brutal fashion' He said: 'The most striking thing about these reports is that in the reports Mr Campbell has admitted to responsibility for the rape and murder of Alesha MacPhail.' A Legal Aid Scotland spokesman said: 'Legal aid is paid directly to lawyers to represent people accused of serious crimes, including those viewed as being of an abhorrent nature, to help ensure a jury can reach an appropriate verdict in a timely manner.' Alesha's mother Georgina Lochrane, 23, previously said her 'world had been ripped away' by the killer, whose crimes shocked an idyllic island community. Her father Robert MacPhail, 26, shouted 'f***ing scumbag' as Campbell was led away to the cells in handcuffs last month, while other relatives broke down in tears. Alesha had been three days into her planned three-week holiday at the time when she fell asleep watching Peppa Pig on July 1. A nine-day trial at Glasgow's High Court heard how the boy went to Alesha's home looking to get cannabis from her drug-dealing father. He broke into the three-bedroom flat and took the little girl from her bed, carrying her along a beach to woodland in the grounds of an abandoned hotel. There, he raped and smothered her – inflicting the 'catastrophic' injuries. The next morning her grandfather Calum woke at 6am to find she was gone. His partner Angela King posted on Facebook: 'Alesha has gone missing from our house please help look for her.' Miss Lochrane – who lives 50 miles away near Glasgow – learned of her daughter's abduction and death from Miss King's frantic Facebook posts publicising her granddaughter's disappearance. During his trial, the killer told a 'pack of lies' as he blamed the crimes on Toni McLachlan, the girlfriend of Alesha's father. Mum-of-two Amanda Papadopoulos, 39, is certain she has spotted specter on security footage outside their new home, which used to be a Victorian school. Spine-tingling video show the night-time wanderings of a pale 'child ghost' on the grass of Mrs Papadopoulos' garden in Eagle, Lincolnshire. Remarkable black and white photographs reveal the mysterious... The object, which appears to have feet, is seen darting across the lawn, and appears to be almost see-through. It paces up and down the garden and then across what appears to be a shed. The shape then suddenly fades, only to reappear at the back door of the house, standing right up against the door before vanishing from sight. It is believed the object was on video in the garden for approximately two hours, starting at 11.30pm. The ghost (ringed) was spotted in security camera footage after mum Amanda Papadopoulos received a notification on her phone that there had been 'activity' outside her home When she went to review the footage, a small white blob can be seen wandering across the back garden, which Mrs Papadopoulos described as a 'child ghost' 'It's not every day you pick something like that up onscreen. I was like "Oh my god, let me look at that again",' she told the Sun. 'I don't want to look at it too much. My husband think it's fantastic whereas I'm a bit more [scared].' Mrs Papadopoulos only checked the footage after receiving a notification from Nest, the security company that made the camera, to say something had been moving in the garden. She thinks the ghost may be angry because of refurbishment work they've done on the house, which was originally built in 1903. The isn't the first time Mrs Papadopoulos and husband Paul have heard things go bump in the night, claiming to have woken to soldiers marching as well as the sound of children. The weird translucent object was didn't cast a shadow against the light, and appeared to have an outline that included feet At the end of the footage the ghost-like object makes its way to the back door of the Victorian house, before vanishing completely. The 23-year-old disappeared in the early hours of last Tuesday, carrying a stray grey and white puppy. It is believed she hiked up a peak overlooking Lake Atitlan to see the sunrise. Her body was spotted near a perilous rocky path which leads to the top. Last night it emerged she was found naked. It is understood Miss Shaw, from Witney, Oxfordshire, was discovered in a cavern near the trail, two miles from her hostel in the village of San Juan La Laguna. The body of missing British tourist Catherine Shaw (pictured), 23, has been found in Guatemala, local police have confirmed In footage shared with the Mail by the hotel’s owner, Miss Shaw can be seen in a long purple dress sitting in a communal café area Before the body was found, Paco Rosales, who had travelled to Guatemala from Mexico to help find his friend, said he immediately recognised the coat. The puppy, which Miss Shaw had been carrying around in the days before her disappearance, was discovered in another spot at the top of the mountain on Friday. The wooded hiking spot where searchers believe Catherine may have gone to watch the sunrise involves climbing extremely rocky terrain for around an hour A search party found a distinctive jacket belonging to Miss Shaw, who is originally from Witney in Oxfordshire 'The puppy was OK, a little undernourished and crying a lot,' said Amy Farrow, 37, an American former paramedic who had been helping the search. Meanwhile, the owner of the hostel where Miss Shaw was last seen claimed the young backpacker had given cookies laced with cannabis to guests. The boss of Eco Hotel Mayachik claimed she herself had fallen ill and had nightmares and hallucinations after trying the biscuits. The Austrian woman, who did not want to be named, said: 'They came and put a box of cookies on the bar and said: 'Everyone, have some.' I tasted two and an hour later, I was completely under [the influence of] drugs. I think these cookies had drugs in them.' Her father Tarquin, pictured, landed in the Central American country after his daughter went missing Miss Shaw, a former yoga teacher, was last captured on CCTV at 5.23am on Tuesday morning leaving the budget hotel where she was staying Catherine's friend Paco Rosales, who shared this post on Facebook, said he immediately recognised the coat - and burst into tears when he was shown a picture of the item After the alleged incident the woman claims she told Miss Shaw to leave, adding: 'I confronted her. She said: 'It's just love. It's just nature.' The hotel has a strict no-drugs policy.' Police are understood to be investigating the claims but have been unable to find a cookie to test. CCTV shows Miss Shaw placing a plastic box at the hostel reception, wearing a long flowing dress at about 1.30pm on the Sunday. Later footage, taken in the early hours of the following morning, around 1.30am, shows her walking out of the hostel with a large drum known as a Hang, on her back. Although it had initially been thought Miss Shaw never returned to the hostel, a clip at 3.30am shows her in a hammock outside her room. She is seen leaving again at around 5.30am. The owner added: 'My opinion is that she was completely lost and completely on drugs. She didn't know what she was doing. She did things a normal person would not do at all.' Miss Shaw's friend Mr Rosales, 35, said of the jacket: 'It was one of her favourite items of clothing. It was really warm, that's why she always kept it.' It was 'so normal' for Miss Shaw to set off at 5.30am to watch the sunrise, he noted, adding that the pair had regularly done this. Miss Shaw began her trip last September, visiting the US and Mexico before travelling to Guatemala in recent weeks. In an online post two weeks ago, she described having the 'most magically spiritual week of my journey so far' following a visit to a nudist festival in Oaxaca, Mexico. Adil Kayani, from Birmingham, was flying from Marrakesh in Morocco to Manchester on March 5 when he used the aircraft's onboard toilet. He said there was a heavy knock at the door and he shouted 'I'll be out soon, hold on a minute' before an air steward opened the door and looked in. The 35-year-old says he feels 'completely violated' by the incident, which he attributes to his Pakistani heritage and Muslim faith. EasyJet says the air steward was following the company's safety procedures, but has apologised to Mr Kayani. He says he turned down a £500 'goodwill gesture' following his complaint. Mr Kayani said: 'I think it was racial discrimination. They can see the colour of my skin. I was racially profiled. It was discrimination. I think it is Islamophobic. 'I was made to feel like a criminal. It was really humiliating for me.' Mr Kayani took a photo of the air steward he says burst in on him in the toilet of the plane The 35-year-old says he turned down a £500 'goodwill gesture' from easyJet He added: 'That is the first time anything like that has ever happened to me. The only way I can make sense of it is because of my racial background. 'Why else was no one broken in to? It doesn't make sense.' A video he made on the flight records him saying to another airline worker that he was 'putting my pants back on' when the man walked in. He said he was only given two to three seconds between the knocking on the door and the air steward's entrance. An EasyJet spokesperson said: 'EasyJet is sorry if Mr Kayani is unhappy, however the cabin crew correctly followed safety procedures by knocking on the toilet door and then opening it after there was no answer following a concern that a passenger had been inside for some time. 'This procedure is in place to ensure passenger safety of all passengers on board including the well being of the customer in the toilet. 'There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that race played a role.' The man originally denied being stuck before saying he peaked in to 'look for something', and then made a rude gesture at the recorder Share or comment on this article: Talk about a rubbish day! #Man_gets_head_stuck_in_bin after 'looking inside to find something' #Glasgow #online
