Why Astrology Isn't Real Science

Astrology focuses on star charts and zodiac signs to build a foundation to one's life. Astrology is also a bunch of asserted, unproven, untested mumbo jumbo. How to use Nimmitta (Omen) in Prashna Astrology

01:09:31
Nimmitta An omen is a phenomenon that is believed to foretell the future, often signifying the advent of change. People in the ancient times believed that omens lie with a divine message from their gods. They would expect a binary answer, either yes or no answer, favorable or unfavorable. They did these to predict what would happen in the future and to take action to avoid disaster. Saptarishis Astrology is an annual multi lingual astrological e-magazine. Due to hard work and love of community volunteer astrologers (Vedic and Western Astrology) spread across the globe, in a shorter duration, the magazine has become the most recognized magazine in the world. We at 'Saptarishis Astrology' believe, astrology to be beyond mere predictions, fortune telling and event forecast, but a way of self-awareness and self-development through spirituality, through the way of ‘Santana Dharma’; and thus leaning to understanding the world around us, and bringing forth more compassion and healing To bring out the principle teachings of astrology, as well as some hidden and not so know techniques on this YouTube platform; we have dived into in depth analysis from basics of a horoscope and chart reading and divisional horoscopes; through planets, signs, houses and Nakshatras, and moreover by learning unique techniques like BSP (Bhrighu Saral Paddhati), BCP (Bhrighu Chakra Paddhati), Nadi Nakshatra from Bhrighu and Nadi Astrology. We dive deeply into Jaimini Astrology, KP Astrology and recently added Astrocartography to the wide mix of teachings and techniques. The above mentioned master techniques are demonstrated on common, as well as celebrity horoscopes, presented and taught by so many great masters of astrology like Shri. K.N.Rao, Shri A.V. Why It's So Hard for Scientists to Believe in God | Francis Collins

04:37
Some scientists see religion as a threat to the scientific method that should be resisted. But faith "is really asking a different set of questions," says Collins. Read more at BigThink.com: http://bigthink.com/videos/why-its-so-hard-for-scientists-to-believe-in-god Follow Big Think here: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/bigthink Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/BigThinkdotcom Twitter: https://twitter.com/bigthink Transcript: Question: Why is it so difficult for scientists to believe in a higher power? Francis Collins: Science is about trying to get rigorous answers to questions about how nature works. And it’s a very important process that’s actually quite reliable if carried out correctly with generation of hypotheses and testing of those by accumulation of data and then drawing conclusions that are continually revisited to be sure they are right. So if you want to answer questions about how nature works, how biology works, for instance, science is the way to get there. Scientists believe in that they are very troubled by a suggestion that other kinds of approaches can be taken to derive truth about nature. And some I think have seen faith as therefore a threat to the scientific method and therefore it to be resisted. But faith in its perspective is really asking a different set of questions. And that’s why I don’t think there needs to be a conflict here. The kinds of questions that faith can help one address are more in the philosophical realm. Why are we all here? Why is there something instead of nothing? Is there a God? Isn’t it clear that those aren't scientific questions and that science doesn’t have much to say about them? But you either have to say, well those are inappropriate questions and we can’t discuss them or you have to say, we need something besides science to pursue some of the things that humans are curious about. For me, that makes perfect sense. But I think for many scientists, particularly for those who have seen the shrill pronouncements from extreme views that threaten what they’re doing scientifically and feel therefore they can’t really include those thoughts into their own worldview, faith can be seen as an enemy. And similarly, on the other side, some of my scientific colleagues who are of an atheist persuasion are sometimes using science as a club over the head of believers basically suggesting that anything that can’t be reduced to a scientific question isn’t important and just represents superstition that should be gotten rid of. Part of the problem is, I think the extremists have occupied the stage. Those voices are the ones we hear. I think most people are actually kind of comfortable with the idea that science is a reliable way to learn about nature, but it’s not the whole story and there’s a place also for religion, for faith, for theology, for philosophy. But that harmony perspective does not get as much attention, nobody’s as interested in harmony as they are in conflict, I’m afraid. Question: How has your study of genetics influenced your faith? Francis Collins: My study of genetics certainly tells me, incontrovertibly that Darwin was right about the nature of how living things have arrived on the scene, by descent from a common ancestor under the influence of natural selection over very long periods of time. Darwin was amazingly insightful given how limited the molecular information he had was; essentially it didn’t exist. And now with the digital code of the DNA, we have the best possible proof of Darwin’s theory that he could have imagined. So that certainly tells me something about the nature of living things. But it actually adds to my sense that this is an answer to a "how?" question and it leaves the "why?" question still hanging in the air. Other aspects of our universe I think also for me as for Einstein raised questions about the possibility of intelligence behind all of this. Why is it that, for instance, that the constance that determines the behavior of matter and energy, like the gravitational constant, for instance, have precisely the value that they have to in order for there to be any complexity at all in the Universe. That is fairly breathtaking in its lack of probability of ever having happened. And it does make you think that a mind might have been involved in setting the stage. At the same time that does not imply necessarily that that mind is controlling the specific manipulations of things that are going on in the natural world. In fact, I would very much resist that idea. I think the laws of nature potentially could be the product of a mind. I think that’s a defensible perspective. But once those laws are in place, then I think nature goes on and science has the chance to be able to perceive how that works and what its consequences are. Interviewed by David Hirschman.

St. Augustine of Hippo (A.D. 354--430) wrote "Numbers are the Universal language offered by the deity to humans as confirmation of the truth." Similar to Pythagoras, he too believed that everything had numerical relationships and it was up to the mind to seek and investigate the secrets of these relationships or have them revealed by divine grace. See Numerology and the Church Fathers for early Christian views. However, that does not mean that Pythagoras had coined himself the system one calls numerology. Pythagoras had only paved the way to the observation of numbers as archetypes rather than mere numerals. In 325 A.D., following the First Council of Nicaea, departures from the beliefs of the state Church were classified as civil violations within the Roman Empire. Numerology had not found favor with the Christian authority of the day and was assigned to the field of unapproved beliefs along with astrology and other forms of divination and "magic".[citation needed] Despite this religious purging, the spiritual significance assigned to the heretofore "sacred" numbers had not disappeared; several numbers, such as the "Jesus number" have been commented and analyzed by Dorotheus of Gaza and numerology still is used at least in conservative Greek Orthodox circles.[5][6] Numerology is prominent throughout Sir Thomas Browne's 1658 literary Discourse The Garden of Cyrus. Throughout its pages the author attempts to demonstrate that the number five and the related Quincunx pattern can be found throughout the arts, in design, and in nature - particularly botany. Modern numerology has various antecedents. Ruth A. Drayer's book, Numerology, The Power in Numbers (Square One Publishers) says that around the turn of the century (from 1800 to 1900 A.D.) Mrs. L. Dow Balliett combined Pythagoras' work with Biblical reference. Then on Oct 23, 1972, Balliett's student, Dr. Juno Jordan, changed Numerology further and helped it to become the system known today under the title "Pythagorean", although Pythagoras himself had nothing to do with the system.

The New Zodiac - Astrology vs Astronomy

23:43
It's 5:07pm on the 10th February, and a child is being born in central London. According to astrology he's born under the star sign Aquarius, he will be innovative, sociable, and unconventional. But we can reveal that the method that Western astrologers use to calculate our star signs is flawed. This programme will show that we are all reading the wrong star signs, we unveil the truth about astrology and "The New Zodiac". For centuries astrologers have believed that we are all intimately linked with the heavens, the exact position of the planets and stars act as a celestial mirror which reflects our personality, and our destiny. Astrologers base their predictions on the movements of the sun, the moon, and the planets as seen from Earth. As they move these heavenly bodies cross in front of 12 groups of stars called constellations. The ancient Greeks thought that these constellations look like figures, a crab, some twins, even a bull. This journey through the 12 constellations inspired astrologers to divide the sky into 12 equal segments, each representing a month. We know these constellations as the 12 signs of the zodiac. This 2001 documentary was produced by Pioneer Productions for Channel 5. Featuring contributions from astrologers Russell Grant and Roy Gillett, interviews with astronomer Dr Francisco Diego (University College London), psychologist Dr Chris French (Goldsmiths College), and media sceptic Tony Youens.

Kemadruma Yogam in Vedic Astrology (EXPOSED)

10:34
Kemadruma Yoga is one very important yoga which specifically deals with the Mind. This is one of the inauspicious yoga or dosha in astrology. It is believed that this dosha makes the native poor. But if we explore this statement further, we can see that it is not poor in terms of financially but poor in terms intellectual capabilities and much more. In Vedic astrology, Moon place very big role. To study the ‘present’ moment for the native astrologers always take Moon sign or rashi of the native. To study auspicious and inauspicious time from transit of the planets, we study from the position of Moon in a horoscope. Mind is represented by Moon in astrology. Mind in very volatile in nature. In horoscope, moon affects mind and thought process. The Moon determines one’s mental structure and psychology of the native. Astronomically also, Moon is the fastest moving planet and it changes its form and size every day as perceived from earth. So naturally this affects the mind. Moon is like water. Water never stays unless it is held by some other support. Same way mind needs some support from other sources to control its flow. Same way the uncontrolled mind is very dangerous because the native will not have any fixed frame of thoughts. He will be very unpredictable. So the Mind needs some support from other sources or planets. Otherwise it leads to an inauspicious yoga called ‘Kemadruma Yoga’. So this yoga forms when there are no planets (except Sun) placed in 2nd and 12th houses from the Moon. So it is as good as saying absence of Sunapha, Anapha and Durudhara yogas. But there are many ways this dosha can be reduced. When planets aspect Moon, especially by benefic planets, the result of the dosha will be reduced substantially. The aspecting planet plays a big role in shaping the natives mind. The aspecting planet will provide the characteristics to the Moon based on its lordship in a horoscope. The dosha gets enhanced when Moon gets posited in fiery signs. What Scriptures say about Kemadruma Yoga? According to Parasara, the native will face disappointments, will not be intelligent and educated, will be poor and suffer miseries. According to Phaladeepika, the native even if he belongs to a royal family, will become unknown and will lead a miserable life, he will be addicted to immoral ways, will face poverty, will be a menial and will be wickedly disposed. According to Maansagari, the native will be mean, sorrowful, poor, lives without wife and in other countries, faces difficulties. will be servant of others, does charity. According to Varahamihira, the native will be dirty, sorrowful, dependent, no clear thoughts, poor. In general we can say, the native with the Kemadruma yoga, does not have a sense of purpose in life, he lacks mental activity, he may lack concentration in any of the work, or it may also leads to over activity without planning and structure. Anybody can manipulate the person with Kemadruma yoga very easily, because he does not have the capacity to distinguish between right and wrong for himself. Because of all these factors he may not be able to have a cordial relationships with family and friends, which makes him lonely in life. Kemadruma Bhanga or Cancellations Some of the rules may not cancel the dosha completely, but to some extent. – If the Moon is placed in a Kendra and if in any planets are posited with the Moon, the Kemadruma dosha gets cancelled. – Presence of planets in kendra from the Moon – If Planets aspect the Moon – If the Moon occupies in navamsa chart in its exaltation position or in its own house. – If Moon is exalted in 10th house and aspected by a benefic – If Moon is posited in the houses of Jupiter, Venus and Mercury with their association Remedies for Kemadruma Yoga The person with Kemadruma yoga should be very careful in decision making especially in financial matters. He should not run business on its own. He can find a business partner who does not have a kemadruma yoga and has good dhana yogas. Also, do not get into an serious argument with closed ones. One should try to be calm, peaceful by doing Yoga and Meditation daily. Regular Pranayam helps a lot. In terms of Mudras one can do Jnana Mudra, Prana Mudra etc. Other remedies: Chant the mantra ‘Om Namah Shivay’ daily in the morning times. (Especially good before sunrise). Worship Lord Shiva Chant Rudra Mantra Keep a Shree Yantra or Chandra Yantra and do pooja....

Are Present Life Problems Linked With Past Lives? Astrological Analysis

01:41
Vedic astrology is related to Hindu belief and this system of astrology talks about past lives and accumulated karmas of past lives which get manifested in situations of the present life. It is believed that the dasa system devised in Vedic astrology The role of past lives in present day problems and rebirth of souls is a debatable subject in many religions. However, rebirth of souls is a fundamental belief in Hinduism. Recently, some T.V programs started coming on “Past Life Regression”. However, those programs are based on hypnotism and other methods which is a field completely separate from astrology. Vedic astrology is related to Hindu belief and this system of astrology talks about past lives and accumulated karmas of past lives which get manifested in situations of the present life. Vedic Astrology is based on the belief of karma and in the concept of Moksha (salvation). It is believed that a soul has to wait for the exact constellation of stars before it takes birth in this world. The type of life which a person gets depends on his “Sanchit Karma” (accumulated deeds of past lives). The uniqueness of Vedic astrology is that it takes into account the effects of accumulated deeds of the past. It is believed that the dasa system devised in Vedic astrology is the “unfolding of one’s karma in the past”. Any change in dasa can bring good or bad results depending on the karmic records of earlier lives. Vedic Astrology also believes in “Rinanu- Bandhan” (past life debts). This means that the friend one makes, the enmity one keeps, and family which one gets depends upon past life debts. No one comes in a person’s life without any reason. People are interlinked with each other by the hidden hands of past karma. It means, if someone is coming repeatedly in life or if some issues are not getting resolved even after honest efforts, it is likely that such persons or issues are linked with the karmic records of past lives. If one shares fortune, career, life or luck with someone, it is likely that such relationship is developing on account of past debts. It is also seen at times that bad fortune of someone becomes good fortune for the other. Such situations may remain interlinked. Vedic astrology also talks about different “doshas” (problems) caused by curses from past-lives. These “doshas” normally cause problems in having children, nurturing relationships, career-related issues, financial issues and many other issues which may affect an individual. The "Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra" which is one of the most respected astrological treatises gives a long list of curses of past lives which influence individuals in the present life. Normally, such curses influence the birth of a child in the family. Some of the curses have been briefly described below. a) Curses of snakes: This indication is given in the horoscope by the placement and condition of Rahu. The effects of such placements are childlessness, fear from snakes and snake bites. This curse originates due to killing of snakes in past lives. The important house to be seen for this purpose is the fifth house. b) Curses of father: The placement and condition of the key planet Sun in the horoscope is important to understand this curse. This may be as a result of wrongs done to father or due to the suffering of souls of forefathers. The results are childlessness, uneasy relationships with father in current life, untimely death of father and lack of happiness from father. The relevant houses to be considered are the fifth, ninth and the tenth. c) Curses of mother: The placement and condition of the key planet Moon indicates this curse. This may be due to ill treatment of mother in past life. The results are childlessness, problems from mother, unhappiness from mother, untimely death of mother etc. Influences on the fourth house and the fifth house in the horoscope need to be analyzed to understand this. d) Curses of brother: The planet which shows younger brother is Mars and planet which shows elder brother is Jupiter. Therefore, the placement and condition of Mars and Jupiter hold the key in interpreting this curse. The results are childlessness, difficult relationship of brother and sisters, problems from brothers and lack of cordial relations with brother etc. The relevant houses are the third, fifth and the eleventh in the horoscope. http://spiritualsadhana.com/question/are-present-life-problems-linked-with-past-lives-astrological-analysis/

Numerology Life path 7 Astrology Secrets of the deep

10:13
CLICK HERE- http://www.astrologykrs.com Modern numerology often contains aspects of a variety of ancient cultures and teachers, including Babylonia, Pythagoras and his followers (Greece, 6th century B.C.), astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria, early Christian mysticism, early Gnostics, the Hebrew system of the Kabbalah, The Indian Vedas, the Chinese "Circle of the Dead", Egyptian "Book of the Masters of the Secret House" (Ritual of the Dead).[4] Pythagoras and other philosophers of the time believed that because mathematical concepts were more "practical" (easier to regulate and classify) than physical ones, they had greater actuality.
Does Humanity Still Believe in Magic?

08:49
As far as science and technology goes, the 21st century is an exciting time to be alive. We are curing more and more diseases. We are developing better and better space travel. Some see these advances as evidence that religion and magic are losing their influence on society. Magic especially has been viewed as a debunked "proto-science" with little credibility in modernity. But sociological data suggests that many humans still practice and believe in magic. Gerald Schroeder is a scientist with over thirty years of experience in research and teaching. He earned his Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees all at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with his doctorate thesis being under the supervision of physics professor Robley D. Evans. This was followed by five years on the staff of the MIT physics department prior to moving to Israel, where he joined the Weizmann Institute of Science and then the Volcani Research Institute, while also having a laboratory at The Hebrew University. His Doctorate is in two fields: Earth sciences and physics. His Doctorate is in two fields: Earth sciences and physics. Schroeder's formal theological training in biblical, talmudic and kabalistic interpretation includes fifteen years of study under the late Rabbi Herman Pollack, Rabbi Chaim Brovender and Rabbi Noah Weinberg, of blessed memory. The scientific career that Schroeder chose has given him varied and often unusual experiences. In his work with nuclear disarmament, he has been present at the detonation of six atomic bombs. Work in control of radioactivity has put him hundreds of meters below ground in U.S. and foreign uranium mines. Within this research, he invented and had patented the first real time monitor for airborne alpha beta gamma emitters. The government of the People's Republic of China, during the decade before it established direct contacts with Israel, was willing to overlook his Jerusalem address and had him as a frequent advisor. He also has consulted for agencies of the governments of Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, USA. Invitations for him to lecture have come from around the world. He has over 60 publications in the world's leading scientific journals on topics ranging from the radon atmosphere of the moon (in Science) to the metabolism of mother's milk (in Nutrition Reports International). The results of Schroeder's work have been reported in Time, Newsweek, Scientific American and in newspapers as far apart as Boston and Adelaide. His formal training in chemistry, physics and the Earth and planetary sciences provides the basis for the broad scientific perspective he brings to his books and lectures. For the past twenty-five years, Dr. Schroeder has also pursued a study of ancient biblical interpretation. An ability to handle the biblical material in the original languages allows him to tap the subtle depths contained in the original texts. These nuances are often missed when working with translations. The uniqueness and success of Schroeder's approach integrating biblical and scientific knowledge is demonstrated by the success of his first book, Genesis and the Big Bang (published by Bantam Doubleday), and the wide acclaim for his second book The Science of God (published by The Free Press of Simon & Schuster and Broadway Books of Bantam Doubleday) which was on the Barnes & Noble list of non-fiction best sellers and was Amazon.com's best selling book in the field of physics/cosmology for all of 1998. This was followed by The Hidden Face of God, discovering the unity that binds all existence (published by The Free Press of Simon & Schuster). His book, God According to God, A scientist proves we've been wrong about God all along, was published in May 2009 with HarperOne and has enthusiastic endorsements by leading theologians, both Jewish and Christian, and a Noble Laureate scientist.

An Astronomer Responds To Flat Earth Theory

03:42
Business Insider UK sat down with Dr Stuart Clark, who spoke to us about a range of subjects regarding astronomy and astrophysics. We asked him what he thought of flat earth theory, a school of thought which believes that the earth is not spherical but flat. "All our physics is constructed now, the physics of orbits of things going around the earth is all constructed with this three dimensional world. And the pictures from space show our world as a globe and yet somehow there are some people that still seem to believe the earth is flat." "My own pet theory is that they’re doing it for comic effect." Tech Insider tells you all you need to know about tech: gadgets, how-to's, gaming, science, digital culture, and more. Millennials Ditching Religion For Astrology And Witchcraft?

Do you love superstitious nonsense but hate judgement and dogma? Astrology and witchcraft may be right for you. Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian, hosts of The Young Turks, discuss. Tell us what you think in the comment section below. Join TYT: https://goo.gl/v8E64M "When Coco Layne, a Brooklyn-based producer, meets someone new these days, the first question that comes up in conversation isn’t “Where do you live?” or “What do you do?” but “What’s your sign?” “So many millennials read their horoscopes every day and believe them,” Layne, who is involved in a number of nonreligious spiritual practices, said. “It is a good reference point to identify and place people in the world.” Interest in spirituality has been booming in recent years while interest in religion plummets, especially among millennials. The majority of Americans now believe it is not necessary to believe in God to have good morals, a study from Pew Research Center released Wednesday found. The percentage of people between the ages of 18 and 29 who “never doubt existence of God” fell from 81% in 2007 to 67% in 2012. Meanwhile, more than half of young adults in the U.S. believe astrology is a science. compared to less than 8% of the Chinese public. The psychic services industry — which includes astrology, aura reading, mediumship, tarot-card reading and palmistry, among other metaphysical services — grew 2% between 2011 and 2016. It is now worth $2 billion annually, according to industry analysis firm IBIS World.”* Read more here: http://www.marketwatch.com/story/why-millennials-are-ditching-religion-for-witchcraft-and-astrology-2017-10-20 Hosts: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian Cast: Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian *** The Largest Online News Show in the World. Michio Kaku: Is God a Mathematician?

05:34
Don't miss new Big Think videos! Subscribe by clicking here: http://goo.gl/CPTsV5 Michio Kaku says that God could be a mathematician: "The mind of God we believe is cosmic music, the music of strings resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace. That is the mind of God." Transcript-- Some people ask the question "Of what good is math?" What is the relationship between math and physics? Well, sometimes math leads. Sometimes physics leads. Sometimes they come together because, of course, there's a use for the mathematics. For example, in the 1600s Isaac Newton asked a simple question: if an apple falls then does the moon also fall? That is perhaps one of the greatest questions ever asked by a member of Homo sapiens since the six million years since we parted ways with the apes. If an apple falls, does the moon also fall? Isaac Newton said yes, the moon falls because of the Inverse Square Law. So does an apple. He had a unified theory of the heavens, but he didn't have the mathematics to solve the falling moon problem. So what did he do? He invented calculus. So calculus is a direct consequence of solving the falling moon problem. In fact, when you learn calculus for the first time, what is the first thing you do? The first thing you do with calculus is you calculate the motion of falling bodies, which is exactly how Newton calculated the falling moon, which opened up celestial mechanics. So here is a situation where math and physics were almost conjoined like Siamese twins, born together for a very practical question, how do you calculate the motion of celestial bodies? Then here comes Einstein asking a different question and that is, what is the nature and origin of gravity? Einstein said that gravity is nothing but the byproduct of curved space. So why am I sitting in this chair? A normal person would say I'm sitting in this chair because gravity pulls me to the ground, but Einstein said no, no, no, there is no such thing as gravitational pull; the earth has curved the space over my head and around my body, so space is pushing me into my chair. So to summarize Einstein's theory, gravity does not pull; space pushes. But, you see, the pushing of the fabric of space and time requires differential calculus. That is the language of curved surfaces, differential calculus, which you learn in fourth year calculus. So again, here is a situation where math and physics were very closely combined, but this time math came first. The theory of curved surfaces came first. Einstein took that theory of curved surfaces and then imported it into physics. Now we have string theory. It turns out that 100 years ago math and physics parted ways. In fact, when Einstein proposed special relativity in 1905, that was also around the time of the birth of topology, the topology of hyper-dimensional objects, spheres in 10, 11, 12, 26, whatever dimension you want, so physics and mathematics parted ways. Math went into hyperspace and mathematicians said to themselves, aha, finally we have found an area of mathematics that has no physical application whatsoever. Mathematicians pride themselves on being useless. They love being useless. It's a badge of courage being useless, and they said the most useless thing of all is a theory of differential topology and higher dimensions. Well, physics plotted along for many decades. We worked out atomic bombs. We worked out stars. We worked out laser beams, but recently we discovered string theory, and string theory exists in 10 and 11 dimensional hyperspace. Not only that, but these dimensions are super. They're super symmetric. A new kind of numbers that mathematicians never talked about evolved within string theory. That's how we call it "super string theory." Well, the mathematicians were floored. They were shocked because all of a sudden out of physics came new mathematics, super numbers, super topology, super differential geometry. All of a sudden we had super symmetric theories coming out of physics that then revolutionized mathematics, and so the goal of physics we believe is to find an equation perhaps no more than one inch long which will allow us to unify all the forces of nature and allow us to read the mind of God. And what is the key to that one inch equation? Super symmetry, a symmetry that comes out of physics, not mathematics, and has shocked the world of mathematics. But you see, all this is pure mathematics and so the final resolution could be that God is a mathematician. And when you read the mind of God, we actually have a candidate for the mind of God. The mind of God we believe is cosmic music, the music of strings resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace. That is the mind of God. Directed / Produced by Jonathan Fowler & Elizabeth Rodd

Numerology Life path 4 Astrology Secrets of the deep

Astrology is nonsense

05:25
I’ve received several questions about astrology and I thought that I could dedicate this vlog to explain why astrology is nonsense. Astrology is the belief that the apparent position of some astronomical objects in the sky at the time of birth influences a person’s character and can predict their future. There are many reasons why astrology is not real, so let’s analyse a few. Western astrology was born in the third century BCE and it is a mixture of Babylonian and Egyptian astrology mixed with Hellenistic beliefs. Using the position of the sun and the planets in relation to special constellations, they construct natal charts to make predictions, these are what we call “horoscopes”. These charts are what astrologers still use to make daily horoscopes, and they’re based on a Universe where the Sun and planets orbit around the Earth and only five planets exist. Belief in astrology implies a belief in having the Earth at the centre of the Universe. My second point is related to the zodiac. Constellations are mostly made by independent stars that carry the resemblance of a real life object. This phenomenon is called Pareidolia and it’s the reason why this gas canister looks like a grandma caterpillar applying lipstick. grandma-caterpillar-putting-on-lipstick Stars in constellations are very far apart, and if we change our point of view the entire designs and meanings we have given them cease to be correct. With your naked eye and great conditions one can see about 3000 stars in the sky. In our galaxy alone there are 100 billion stars. And there are 100 billion galaxies in the known universe. So, there’s no reason why this handful of stars should be in anyway special in the great scheme of things. Another logical fact that disproves astrology is the relation between any human and other bodies in the solar system. Followers of astrology believe that the planets influence our lives, so scientifically speaking they need to exert a force on us. I’m going to quantify it in a second, but just so you know the force that a planet (or even the sun) exerts on you is the same as the force you exert on them. Let’s pick the Sun, since it’s the biggest object in the solar system holding 99.86% of its mass. So, the force for a 70 kg person is equal to 0.431 Newtons which is 1700 smaller than the force we receive from the Earth. How about Jupiter: the biggest planet of the Solar System? Even at its shortest distance from Earth, the force Jupiter exerts is 10^32 times smaller than the force we get from the Earth. Lastly, and ironically, astrology has no predictive power. I’m not simply talking about the ability to divine the future, but the ability to explain phenomenon we see happening. For all scientific disciplines to be considered valid they need to possess predictive power, and I would argue that a good deal of predictive power needs to be involved in the arts too. Not simply technical predictions, if I mix yellow and blue paint I get green, but also the ability of an artist to transmit a certain emotion with a play, a story or a sculpture. Astrology can’t do that. Astrology doesn’t have an explanation on why planets and stars influence humans, historical events or the weather. It has been proven in several studies, such as the experiment conducted by Zarka in 2011, that astrology is equivalent to random chance when predicting events or personalities. I can hear people arguing that they only check the horoscopes ironically and that it’s just harmless fun. But it’s not. A member of the British Health committee, David Tredinnick wants to use astrology in the National Health system. He wants to use nonsense to cure people!! Even smart people don’t often realise that astrology is completely fictional. I was at a party surrounded by medical doctors, and being the odd doctor out they asked me about my PhD. Eventually someone asked me if I believed in astrology. When I went on about all the reasons why it’s garbage they interrupted by saying “Why does it matter if people use astrology in their lives?” I rebutted “Would you use phrenology to diagnose a patient?” And they looked at me as though comparing a discredited medical practice to astrology was like comparing apples to planets. If people that have power over other peoples lives make decisions based on daily nonsense written by frauds, then they need to be educated. Although I understand the evolutionary need behind the belief of a written destiny, I can’t quite understand why anyone would pick something like astrology, which has been debunked for 400 years, especially since it requires the believer to relinquish the ability to make their own choices in life. Maybe it would be easier to blame my many mistakes on a supernatural force, but I’d own them as mine, like my few successes. Shakespeare said it first: the fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars but in ourselves.

My astrological journey began at age 28 when I had my own chart read by my first spiritual preceptor/ Vedic Astrologer. Just based on my birth data, including the exact time, I was astonished when she predicted that I would likely become an astrologer myself! Up until then I regarded astrology as a medieval superstition in which only ignorant and uneducated believed. This experience literally turned my world upside down and sent me on a quest to understand how such a thing could be. How could the planetary pattern at a person’s birth symbolically reflect their personality and to some degree their life experience. The question people might think and want to really ask is...Who am I? I am someone like you, who loves astrology to its core. I began my journey in the world of Astrology when I was first introduced to Vedic Astrology and its predictive methods through blessing of Almighty! And learning on my own also with guidance from my Gurus. I finally saw astrology for what it was a divine science. I used to read my weekly and yearly horoscope sun sign, but never cared too much for it because it hardly ever came true and most of it was common information that can be applied to anyone. But, Vedic Astrology proved me wrong. Through its detail charts, time tables and true planetary degree I realized how accurate astrology really is. I found out the meaning of astrology. I finally knew who I was and what I was supposed to do in life, the purpose of my life you can say, which sun sign really doesn't do. Adding more I am a Vedic (Jyotish) Astrologer and Spiritual Healer residing in United Arab Emirates with more than 8 years of experience in Vedic astrology and practicing modern approach to astrology. I believe that a good Astrologer is a Guide who prepares and guides the client in advance about the difficulty ahead and helps them to surpass or reduce the hardships with practical and rational remedies. With the comprehensive knowledge and extensive research in Jaimini Astrology and Brighu Bhindu I can solve your puzzles of life with proper guidance and do spiritual healing with natural remedies. Gifted with special intuitions I will make you meet your true Self, whether it's your career, marriage, delayed marriage, job, business, property issues, foreign settlements, children, education, investment or any pending issues, I will help you follow proper path and tell you suitable remedies seeing your planetary positions and helping you solving your problems. I always had interest in this mystical world of Astrology, which I found out in my horoscope as well; and this interest has kept me up and kept me going so far. Every day is a new adventure into the world of unknown subjects. I am a Spiritual Healer who can help you if you are: • Feeling depressed in life and has lost the zeal to live • overwhelmed by fears or other emotions • being crushed under the stress of performing in your professional and personal life • suffering from illness on a regular basis • Pessimistic and cannot find the right path • involved in unfulfilling activities or relationships. Astrology has been dated to at least the 2nd millennium BCE, and has its roots in calendrical systems used to predict seasonal shifts and to interpret celestial cycles as signs of divine communications.[4] Many cultures have attached importance to astronomical events, and some – such as the Indians, Chinese, and Maya developed elaborate systems for predicting terrestrial events from celestial observations. Technology and Astrology have no connection. But still, many things can be logically proved as the scientific things are. Technological research and scientific development may not be able to explain these facts but it is believed by many people. Guided Meditation - Liquefied!

04:10
Using the inherent energy found in nature as a focus during meditation can help you become more self-aware and thus more mindful in your life. In western astrology, it is believed that the universe is formed by the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Each of the four elements has its own unique properties, which work simultaneously to create one united universe. The unique properties of water have been known to symbolize: • Life • Renewal • Motion • Intuition • Reflection • Subconscious • Transformation “Liquefied!” is a life-size statue of a girl becoming one with water. The sculpture is a symbolic representation of the importance of meditation in becoming more aware of oneself, nature, and the universe, and the infinite connections therebetween. The goal of using water in meditation is to “become one with water,” or as I like to say, become liquefied! Artist: Emily Adelman www.emilyadelman.com Vote Code: 67060

HOW TO READ YOUR OWN PALM LINES

It has its roots in Indian astrology and Roma fortune-telling.The objective is to evaluate a person’s character or future by studying the palm of their hand. Whether you’re an aspiring palm reader or you’re just looking for a fun way to pass the time and impress your friends, here’s how to gain insight just by holding someone’s hand. 1) Choose a hand. In palmistry, it is thought that: For females, the right hand is what you’re born with, and left is what you’ve accumulated throughout your life. For males, it is the other way around. The left hand is what you’re born with, and the right is what you’ve accumulated throughout your life. That being said, you can also choose whichever hand is dominant to be your present/past life hand (the non-dominant hand would then be your future life hand). There are different schools of thought on the matter. Some say the left hand shows potential and what could be not necessarily what will be. And a difference in the hands could mean one is or is about to take action when it comes to their lives, changing it. 2) Identify the four major lines. There may be breaks in them or they may be short, but at least three of them are there. The heart line. The head line. The life line. The fate line . ) Interpret the heart line. This line can be read in either direction (from the pinkie finger to the index finger or vice versa) depending on the tradition being followed. It’s believed to indicate emotional stability, romantic perspectives, depression, and cardiac health. The basic interpretations are as follows: Begins below the index finger – content with love life. Begins below the middle finger – selfish when it comes to love. Begins in the middle – falls in love easily. Straight and short – less interest in romance. Touches life line – heart broken easily. Long and curvy – freely expresses emotions and feelings. Staight and parallel to the head line – good handle on emotions. Wavy – many relationships and lovers, absence of serious relationships. Circle on the line – sadness or depression. Broken line – emotional trauma. Smaller lines crossing through heart line – emotional trauma. 4) Examine the head line. This represents a person’s learning style, communication approach, intellectualism, and thirst for knowledge. A curved line is associated with creativity and spontaneity, while a straight line is linked with practicality and a structured approach. The basic interpretations are as follows: Short line – prefers physical achievements over mental ones. Curved, sloping line – creativity. Separated from life line – adventure, enthusiasm for life. Wavy line – short attention span. Deep, long line – thinking is clear and focused. Straight line – thinks realistically. Donuts or cross in head line – emotional crisis. Broken head line – inconsistencies in thought. Multiple crosses through head line – momentous decisions. 5) Evaluate the life line. This begins near the thumb and travels in an arc towards the wrist. It reflects physical health, general well being, and major life changes. Its length is not associated with length of life. The basic interpretations are as follows: Runs close to thumb – often tired. Curvy – plenty of energy. Long, deep – vitality. Short and shallow – manipulated by others. Swoops around in a semicircle – strength and enthusiasm. Straight and close to the edge of the palm – cautious when it comes to relationships. Multiple life lines – extra vitality. Circle in line indicates – hospitalized or injured. Break – sudden change in lifestyle. 6) Study the fate line. This is also known as the line of destiny, and it indicates the degree to which a person’s life is affected by external circumstances beyond their control. It begins at the base of the palm. The basic interpretations are as follows: Deep line – strongly controlled by fate. Cosmos & Astrology!

12:47
From 2:50 on: People wear astrological pendants, check their horoscopes before leaving the house, even our language preserves an astrological conciousness. For example, take the word disaster, it comes from Greek for bad star. ITalians once believed disease was caused by the influence of the stars, it is the origin of the word influenza. The Zodiacal signs used by astrologers even ornament this statue of prometheus in NEwYorkCity. What is all this astrology businessÉ FUndamentally, it is the contention of which constellation the planets are in at the moment of your birth that profoundly influences your future. A few thousand years ago the idea developed that the motion of the planets decided the fates of kings, dynasties, empires. Astrologers study the motion of the planets and asked themselves what had happened last time that say Venus was rising in the constellation of the goat. Maybe something similar would happen this time as well. It was a subtle & risky business. Astrologers became employed only by the state. In many countries it became a capital offence for anyone except the official astrologer to read the portents in the sky. Why, because a good way to overthrow a regime is to predict its downfall. Chinese court astrologers who made inaccurate predictions were executed, others simply doctored the records so that they were in perfect conformity to events.Astrology developed into a strange discapline, a mixture of careful observation, mathematics and record keeping with fuzzy thinking and pious fraud. Nevertheless astrology survived and flourished. Why, because it seems to lend a cosmic significance to the routine of our daily lives. It pretends to satisfy longing to feel personally connected to the universe. Astrology suggests a dangerous fatalism. If our lives are controlled by a set of traffic signals in the sky, why try to change anything. Here, look at this, here are two different newpapers published in the same city on the same day, let us see what they do about astrology. Suppose you were a Libra born between september 23 and October 22. According to the astrologer of the New York Post, compromise will help ease tension. Well maybe, it is sort of vague. According to the New York Daily news astrologer: demand more of yourself. Well also vague but also pretty different. It is interesting that these different predictions are not predictions, they tell you what to do not what is going to happen. They are conciously designed to be so vague that they can apply to anybody and they disagree with eachother.

Numerology Life path 5 Astrology Secrets of the deep

New Zodiac Signs 2011 - Debunking the Zodiac Controversy

New Zodiac Signs 2011: Debunking a Zodiac Controversy Don't Worry, The 'New' Zodiac Dates Are Actually Nothing New Jan. 15, 2011 Believe it or not, astrologers actually saw this one coming. ago it was pointing at an obscure star called Thuban. "Three thousand years ago the sun was 'in' whatever it was in," says Kunkle, who is also a professor at Minneapolis Community and Technical College. "Now it's about a whole constellation off from that." In an August 2009 Pew poll, 25 percent of Americans said they believed in astrology; 71 percent said they did not. Kunkle falls into the latter category ("I'm a scientist," he says drily.) But, he says, "You could predict when to harvest, when to plant, by the stars. So there is some p redictive nature there. Then they took it too far, using it to determine when to go to war and people's personalities." Jane Zimmerman can take some solace in that. A stay- at-home mom in San Francisco, Zimmerman was just this week told by an older, wise-looking lady that she and her husband Jason had compatible signs. "I took heart," she jokes. "I was glad." But Zimmerman, 37, was born on Dec. 2, meaning that her "new" sign would be Ophicius while her husband remained a Pisces. "When it suits me, the Zodiac is great. If it's going to tell me that I'm not a great match to Jason, then it's a load of crap," she says. "Unless we don't get along any more. If there start to be cracks in our relationship, I guess I'll know what to blame." The 'New' Dates See if your Zodiac sign was said to have to have changed: Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16 Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11 Pisces: March 11- April 18 Aries: April 18- May 13 Taurus: May 13- June 21 Gemini: June 21- July 20 Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10 Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16 Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30 Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23 Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29 Ophiuchus: Nov. 29- Dec. 17 Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20 "It's not like it's something new. Anybody 50 years ago or 100 years ago or yesterday for that matter could have and would have known that the stars and the signs don't match up," said Dr. Ed Krupp, an astronomer at the Griffith Observatory, according to ABC7. The popular astrologer Susan Miller called the news "ridiculous." In an interview with ABC News, she said, "We've known about this for ages. The constellations don't suggest what's coming up, it's the planets! The constellations are a measuring device." "In ancient days there were, like, 50 constellations. Then they finally got together and agreed on 18. Then they narrowed it down," says Miller. "I'm getting so many tweets. Trying to explain something technical in 140 characters is hard!" Out of Alignment In short, your astrological sign has not changed. What has changed, subtly and very gradually, is the tilt of the earth's axis as it revolves around the sun. If you watch a spinning toy top, explains Kunkle, you will see its axis wobble. That's called precession. The Earth's axis does the same thing. It's currently facing Polaris, often called the North Star, but 3,000 years
