Oracle Database Cloning via RMAN Restore Recover Method

23:58
https://dbagenesis.com/p/oracle-advanced-rman-backup-recovery RMAN has the ability to duplicate, or clone, a database from a backup or from an active database. It is possible to create a duplicate database on a remote server with the same file structure, a remote server will a different file structure or the local server with a different file structure. Cloning the database on the remote host requires two servers. Both servers should have Oracle Software installed on them.

Clone A Database With RMAN Backup Base Without Source connectivity

32:34
Oracle 11gR2 comes with a great new feature where you can clone the database without connecting to the target database and recovery catalog. So you can clone the database using only backups of the database directly from the auxiliary server. For this, a new syntax, backup location, was added to the duplicate command. In the following example, you will be shown the steps of database duplication without target database connection and recovery catalog. You can download checklisk & steps with below shareable link. ***************************************************************** https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1Vyp5-9fissQnZvUUJmRG5BU0E/view?usp=sharing Follow the below link to find other oracle stuffs. http://oraerrors.blogspot.in/ Pradeep Kumar

https://dbagenesis.com/p/oracle-advanced-rman-backup-recovery DBA Genesis provides all you need to build and manage effective Oracle technology learning. We designed DBA Genesis as a simple to use yet powerful online Oracle learning system for students. Each of our courses is taught by an expert instructor, and every course is available on demand. RMAN provides you flexibility to take full database backups and incremental backups. With the incremental backups, you only take backup of changed blocks. This results in saving the disk space. While taking first incremental backup, it will be count as level 0 incremental backup, which is same in content to RMAN full backup and takes backup of all blocks in the database. Level 1 incremental backup takes backup of only those blocks who modified after earlier incremental backup.

Restore RMAN backup To another New DB Server

50:06
Although there are several other methods to achieve this, this is just one of those methods. This can be done differently based on the setup of your environments, such as your backup methods, location files / file system etc. This can be helpful in case where there is a need for QA/DEV environments to be refreshed with PROD data. Creating Auxiliary, Clone, Sandbox, Duplicate Database Using RMAN

17:32
Duplicating Target Database Using RMAN Auxiliary Database or Creating Auxiliary Database on the Same Server Using RMAN. We have Target Database name as ORCL And we are creating a Auxiliary database with name as AUXDB 1.Check log_mode of Target Database. Target must be in archivelog mode. Other put the database in archivelog mode. shutdown immediate startup mount alter database archivelog; alter database open; 2.Take Whole Hot/Cold Backup of Target Database RMAN backup database plus archivelog; 3.Create Pfile from Target Database Spfile SQL create pfile='C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\DB_1\Database\initauxdb.ora' from spfile; 4.Open pfile with notepad and replace Ctrl + H all orcl to auxdb SQL host notepad C:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\DB_1\Database\initauxdb.ora 5.On Windows Platform You need to Create a new Instance for auxdb which also creates an password file for the same. SQL host oradim -new -sid auxdb -syspwd admin 6.Create All the folders in Oracle Folder Structures. SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\oradata\auxdb SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\flash_recovery_area\AUXDB SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb\adump SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb\bdump SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb\cdump SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb\dpdump SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb\pfile SQL host mkdir C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\auxdb\udump 7.Connect to auxdb and startup instance at nomount stage. C:\set ORACLE_SID=auxdb C:\sqlplus / as sysdba SQL startup nomount //Instance started with pfile SQL create spfile from pfile; SQL shut immediate SQL startup nomount //Instance started with spfile now 8.Now set these two parameters to convert your datafiles and logfile names. SQL show parameter convert SQL alter system set db_file_name_convert = 'orcl','auxdb' scope=spfile; SQL alter system set log_file_name_convert = 'orcl','auxdb' scope=spfile; SQL shut immediate SQL startup nomount 9.Now you need to connect Recovery Manager to start the duplicating (cloning) process. C:\set ORACLE_SID=auxdb C:\rman auxiliary / RMAN connect target sys/[email protected] RMAN run allocate auxiliary channel ch1 device type disk; allocate channel ch2 device type disk; duplicate target database to auxdb; 10.If all steps are done correctly you will have a new database clone created successfully.

11g Standby : RMAN Active Duplicate method (Without backup)

58:53
The procedure for creating a standby database with RMAN is almost the same as for creating a duplicate database. To create a standby database with the DUPLICATE command you must connect as target to the primary database and specify the FOR STANDBY option. You cannot connect to a standby database and create an additional standby database. RMAN creates the standby database by restoring and mounting a control file. RMAN can use an existing backup of the primary database control file, so you do not need to create a control file backup especially for the standby database. A standby database, unlike a duplicate database created by DUPLICATE without the FOR STANDBY OPTION, does not get a new DBID. Thus, you should not register the standby database with your recovery catalog. Please Find the below link to download checklist to create Active duplicate standby: ************************************************************************************* https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B1Vyp5-9fissS21aUWxISDYyQWc Follow the below link to find other oracle stuffs. http://oraerrors.blogspot.in/ Pradeep kumar +91-9972201100

Database Point-in-Time Recovery | RMAN INCREMENTAL Backups | DB PITR

08:41
Database point-in-time recovery (DBPITR) restores the database from backups prior to the target time for recovery, then uses incremental backups and redo to roll the database forward to the target time. DBPITR is sometimes called incomplete recovery because it does not use all of the available redo or completely recover all changes to your database. The target SCN can be specified using a date and time, in which case the operation is sometimes called time-based recovery. https://dbagenesis.com/p/oracle-advanced-rman-backup-recovery
