At forty-four, acclaimed cardiologist John Day was overweight and suffered from insomnia, degenerative joint disease, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. On six medications and suffering constant aches, he needed to make a change. While lecturing in China, he’d heard about a remote mountainous region known as Longevity Village, a wellness Shangri-La free of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, obesity, dementia, depression, and insomnia, and where living past one hundred—in good health—is not uncommon. Day, a Mandarin speaker, decided to spend some time living in Longevity Village. He learned everything he could about this place and its people, and met its centenarians. His research revealed seven principles that work in tandem to create health, happiness, and longevity—rules he applied to his own life. Six months later, he’d lost thirty pounds, dropped one hundred points off his cholesterol and twenty-five points off his blood pressure, and was even cured of his acid reflux and insomnia. So you want to live to be 100? The answers to living a long and happy life may come from Japan which has the longest average life expectancy in the world (83.84 years) and where 2 million people are over the age of 90. Believe it or not, 6 of the top 10 oldest people alive are from Japan including Nabi Tajima of Kagoshima who is 117 years old and the last human alive born in the 19th century! How did so many Japanese get to live so long? What are some of the things Japanese do right? In this episode, John travels to Tottori Prefecture to the area around Mt Daisen where his friend Tomiko-san gives him some advice about how to live a long life and how she's lived to be 106 years old and still working on the farm! Her secret? Tofu. She started to make tofu in the 1950s when doctors said residents had to reduce high blood pressure. She made her own tofu for her family and her diet combined with good habits including staying busy and working hard have strengthened her mind and body. She still walks and writes tanka poetry. I also ask Mr. Seiichi, my 97 year old Japanese neighbor his secret and hear from a Shinto priest about his thoughts and personal experiences with living a very long and happy life in Japan. It's impossible to say exactly what has led to Japan having the longest average life expectancy in the world but these things may help: ★ Green Tea ★ Less fatty foods ★ Seafood ★ Fermented foods ★ Bath culture / Hot Springs & Onsen ★ Smaller portions ★ Education on personal responsibility ★ National safety / low crime rates ★ Respect for the Elderly (It's a national holiday too!) ★ DNA Special thank you to Daisen Town & Yonago City in Tottori Prefecture for the help. Daisen is celebrating its 1300th anniversary this year and you're invited to the party in June 2018! http://www.daisen1300.org/ Music credits: Always thankful for TeknoAXE (Matthew Huffaker) Songs: Granny Jenkins / Harassing the Mailman https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtgf00GvfFQVsYBA7V7RwUw The video was produced and created by John Daub. Calment ascribed her longevity and relatively youthful appearance to a diet rich in olive oil which she also rubbed onto her skin. She also drank port wine and ate nearly one kilogram of chocolate every week. She smoked cigarettes from the age of 21 to 117. Elizabeth Sullivan A Fort Worth, Texas woman who turned 105 in March 2016 credits a very special doctor for her good health and longevity—Dr. Pepper. Elizabeth Sullivan fell in love with the soft drink 40 years ago, when she was in her 60s. Agnes Fenton The centenarian has surprised her relatives and doctor with her iron constitution. She justifies her lifespan and good shape with the special diet she has followed for 70 years. New Jersey resident, Agnes Fenton, chalks her long life up to the wonders of the Miller High Life. Clara Meadmore Clara Meadmore, Britain's oldest virgin, lived to be 108. She often attributed her longevity down to her abstinence. Clara never had sex because she was "too busy" for intimate relationships, which seemed like "a lot of hassle." She abstained as a young woman to concentrate on earning a living. Pearl Cantrell In 2013, a 105-year-old Texas woman, who became a widow at age 38 and worked as everything from a cotton picker to a hay baler while raising 7 kids on her own, said bacon is the secret to her longevity. “I love bacon. I eat it every day. It's got to be crispy.” Pearl Cantrell said. Emiliano Mercado del Toro At 114, del Toro became the oldest documented living person on December 11, 2006. While many supercentenarians have held this title at some point in their lives, del Toro was one of the few men ever to do so the 16 previous title holders were all female. Pauline Spagnola Pauline Spagnola who celebrated her 100th birthday, told that the key to longevity is "a lot of booze. Pauline Spagnola said her drink of choice is a local favorite—the gold medal Stegmaier beer brewed right at the Lion Brewery in Wilkes-Barre. Susannah Mushatt Jones She born in 1899, was an American supercentenarian who was, at the age of 116 years and 311 days, the world's oldest living person and the last living American born in the 19th century. She believed eating bacon is the secret to a long life. Batuli Lamichhane Nepalese centennial Batuli Lamichhane, who was born in 1903, put his longevity down to smoking 30 cigarettes a day. She’s been a heavy smoker for almost 100 years, and says the key to a long life is being stress free. Antonio Docampo Garcia Antonio Docampo Garcia insisted he only drank homemade wine, never water, and could drink up to four bottles a night. Although he died at the age of 107, he was over a century old before he took his first antibiotics. Mr Garcia owned his own vineyard, and out of the 60,000 litres of wine he produced, he kept 3,000 per year for himself.

Have you ever heard about Hunza People? There are a lot of stories and myths of people who lived healthy and happily for a long amount of time. The myths from the Holy Grail, or the Fountain of youth, are quite intriguing even after all the years that have gone by. It’s not a secret that there are many living people that live much longer than we do. Shockingly, there are people who have never been sick in their life. So, what is the secret to a long and healthy life? To answer that question, I went through the most amazing life stories of those centenarians who were willing to share their wisdom on the net. To be honest, many of those stories were different and I was not able to make some final conclusion at first about the “secret” I was looking for. I found many different answers and they confused me even more. For example, Emma Morano from Italy lived 116 years, and she explained that the reason for her long life is staying single. She said:“I didn’t want to be dominated by anyone”, so after her divorce at the age of 38 she spent the rest of her life single. She even won the battle against anemia by eating two raw eggs a day her whole life. Another life story about Mushatt-Jones tells about eating fried bacon every single day. A California centenarian told his secret was eating one donut a day. After, I learned about the life story of Clarice Emley, who was born and raised on a farm. She explained that her family and she ate only what they grew and caught. She is still physically active, working out every day together with her friends. Then, I found out stories about centenarian twins and their secret of getting older together and close as the main reason for their long life. Being so confused, I still was persistent in searching for the “secret”. Then, I saw an article on the Hunza people that took me by surprise as I came closer to my answer. Hunza people or Hunzas are a population in the mountain terrain of Pakistan. The many reasons these people took my attention are the following: 1. The literacy rate of Hunza valley is more than 95%- which means that every Hunza has at least a high school diploma; 2. The Hunza region is home to people of four ethnicities; 3. There are two different religion in the Hunza region and people are divided between them, but; 4. The lifestyle of Hunza people is very simple and they are considered to be very welcoming and warm; 5. Some Hunzas live up to 150 years; 6. The women in Hunza can give birth at the age of 65. 7. They never eat processed food, and they eat apricot often and a lot. 8. They work in the fields from sunrise to sunset every day and they work hard. Connecting together the dots of all the stories and facts presented above, here is my conclusion about how to have a long and healthy life: 1. You do need to educate through life. You can start developing a healthy mind at a young age, and its advised you should never stop reading and thinking actively. Clarice Emley was a teacher, almost all Hunzas are educated. We all need a healthy developed brain to have a healthy life. 2. Single or not it doesn’t matter as long as you maintain healthy relationships during your whole life. 3. A “Healthy relationship” means a good connection with yourself, acknowledging hidden feelings, and helping to dissolve them in a healthy energy, no matter how contagious they can be. Using self- learning techniques and meditation can help you develop a better understanding of your needs and wishes, which can lead to a bigger, loving atmosphere for you and everyone else. We really hope you find this video helpful and don’t forget to share it with your friends and family. Thank You.

In Hunza, people manage to live over one hundred years of age in perfect mental and physical health; and men father children at ninety. Cheerful, healthy and full of life, it seems as if the people of Hunza Valley belong to another planet. They eat fresh apricots, breathe the mountainous air, look youthful and they hardly ever get sick. People are often surprised when they learn that the citizens of Hunza (also known as Burusho people) usually live up to the age 120. They can easily conceive even after 60 years and it is very rare for them to get tumors. It might sound shocking to you, but Hunzas can readily conceive even between the ages of 60 and 90. Again, the secret to their youth is their exceptional diet and physical activity. Tension, stress, and conflicting thoughts are unknown to Hunzas. They are completely free of stress-related diseases as they have made themselves fully immune to self-doubt and failures. It won’t be wrong to say that they lead lives like children. Content with their lives, the people of Hunza live in the moment. According to research, apricots of Hunza Valley are said to be the key behind the absence of tumors. Hunzas eat large amounts of the fruit which is rich in Amygdalin (vitamin B-17).

Here are some of his tips to living a long, healthy life. If you desire to live a long, healthy life, you won’t want to miss what Japanese doctor Shigeaki Hinohara touted as the “secrets” to living a long life. The physician would know, as he helped build the foundations of Japanese medicine, studied longevity and even lived to the ripe old age of 105. Hinohara, who died on July 18, 2017, was the chairman emeritus of St. Luke’s International University and the honorary president of St. Luke’s International Hospital. In an interview with Judit Kawaguchi of Japan Times on the topic of longevity, he recommended several basic guidelines for longevity. One of them is to retire later on in life. 1) Retire later in life Because people are living much longer — particularly in Japan, Dr. Hinohara claims they should be retiring later, as well. The physician took his own advice to heart. Months before he died — even at the age of 105-years-old, Hinohara continued to treat patients, reports The Independent. He kept an appointment book with space for five more years and worked up to 18 hours a day! “He believed that life is all about contribution, so he had this incredible drive to help people, to wake up early in the morning and do something wonderful for other people. This is what was driving him and what kept him living,” Kawaguchi told the BBC. “He always had today’s goals, tomorrow’s, and the next five years.” 2) Have more fun... ********************************** ★ SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL TO BE INFORMED FOR NEW DAILY VIDEOS! LONGEVITY SECRETS 8 Royal Secrets of Longevity. Here, some of the factors that are (quite possibly) the reasons Queen Elizabeth continues to enjoy good health. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary on April 21, 1926, celebrates her 92st birthday this year. The oldest reigning British monarch, along with her husband Prince Phillip, have both exceeded the life expectancy for Canadian women and men — which is 83.3 and 78.8 respectively, according to the latest report from Statistics Canada. Successful aging is measured in both quantity of years and quality of life ; not simply breathing but retaining vitality and enthusiasm, enough to make life well worth living. Go ahead , live like the Queen! 1. Get regular medical screenings. 2. Get regular exercise. 3. Stay mentally sharp. 4. Maintain a constant body weight. 5. Eat a variety of healthy foods. 6. Drink a cup of tea and barley water. 7. Keep a pet . 8. Stay connected .

LaPallo claims he's never been sick a day in his life. He walks every morning and eats mostly organic fruits and veggies. "People ask me what do you do to stay so young," LaPallo explained. "I say, 'Well you've heard the old saying, you are what you eat.'" So what's LaPallo's secret? Five foods: garlic, honey, cinnamon, chocolate and olive oil. "Use olive oil on your skin," LaPallo said. "Rub your feet rub your arms you'll never rust." Healthy habits LaPallo picked up from his father, a doctor, who lived to be 98. LaPallo keeps his brain sharp by being a voracious reader, solving crossword puzzles and playing checkers. "I can remember things my father told me when I was 8 years old," LaPallo recalled. A father who showed his son how to have a rich life worth living. "And he taught me how to live, how to eat and to have faith in God and he would take care of me," smiled LaPallo. "And so far it has happened."

Japan Secrets for Long Life In Urdu Hindi | How do Japanese Live Long WHO also announced the healthy life expectancy in 2016 and Japan also got the highest ranking, NO.1 for this case as well with the 74.9 years old. Healthy life expectancy means people who can live an independent life, and you can see Japanese people can live independently without other support even in that age. #1. They eat a lot of vegetables. Traditionally, the Japanese eat lots of rice, veg and fish — generally in that order — and Japan’s infatuation with fermented soy and seaweed means they have no lack of vitamins, minerals, and beneficial phytochemicals. Unfortunately, from the 19th century onward, there has been an increase in unhealthy Western habits — breaded and battered meats and more recently, white bread, refined sugars, and copious amounts of sweets. #2. They cook their food differently. Tempura, tonkatsu and croquettes notwithstanding, Japanese food involves a lot of steaming, pan-grilling, broiling, stir-frying, slow-cooking, and fermenting. They also have a habit of making at least one bowl of soup and usually they prepare small dishes. It helps when they couple their veg and fish intake with lots of fiber from beans, rice, and often beans and rice. #3. They drink a lot of tea. While coffee isn’t necessarily bad, there’s a huge tea drinking culture in Japan — and good quality Japanese tea contains far more antioxidants than coffee. This is especially true for Japan’s tea-time specialty: matcha, which is a fine (and often expensive) powdered tea made of young leaves grown specifically to increase their chlorophyll and antioxidant content by depriving them of sunlight. #4. They’ve got smaller plates Portion control is a traditional part of Japanese cuisine. Etiquette is a huge part of Japanese living, and part of that is the careful use of chopsticks, the practice of eating from a small plate or rice bowl, only garnishing food lightly, serving each item on its own little dish, never completely filling a plate or serving large portions. In Okinawa, the locals attribute part of their longevity to the saying: hara hachi bu, meaning “eat until you are 80% full”. #5. They walk, stand, and squat more. Part of daily Japanese life is the great commute — getting up, heading to the station, waiting for the train, standing in the train, walking from the next station to work, and getting on with life. Public transport is the norm in Japan. People jump on bikes and hop on trains — a car is considered a luxury. Many employees, such as those at Canon, work standing up. Even going to the bathroom is different in Japan. While there are a lot of Western-style toilets available, old-school Japanese lavatories involve squatting, which is healthier for the bowels.
