Physical fitness is generally achieved through proper nutrition, moderate-vigorous physical exercise, and sufficient rest. Before the industrial revolution, fitness was defined as the capacity to carry out the day’s activities without undue fatigue. However, with automation and changes in lifestyles physical fitness is now considered a measure of the body's ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist hypokinetic diseases, and to meet emergency situations. Fitness is defined as the quality or state of being fit. Around 1950, perhaps consistent with the Industrial Revolution and the treatise of World War II, the term "fitness" increased in western vernacular by a factor of ten. Modern definition of fitness describe either a person or machine's ability to perform a specific function or a holistic definition of human adaptability to cope with various situations. This has led to an interrelation of human fitness and attractiveness which has mobilized global fitness and fitness equipment industries. Regarding specific function, fitness is attributed to person who possess significant aerobic or anaerobic ability, i.e. strength or endurance. A holistic definition of fitness is described by Greg Glassman in the CrossFit journal as an increased work capacity across broad times and modal domains; mastery of several attributes of fitness including strength, endurance, power, speed, balance and coordination and being able to improve the amount of work done in a given time with any of these domains. A well rounded fitness program will improve a person in all aspects of fitness, rather than one, such as only cardio/respiratory endurance or only weight training. A comprehensive fitness program tailored to an individual typically focuses on one or more specific skills, and on age- or health-related needs such as bone health. Many sources also cite mental, social and emotional health as an important part of overall fitness. This is often presented in textbooks as a triangle made up of three points, which represent physical, emotional, and mental fitness. Physical fitness can also prevent or treat many chronic health conditions brought on by unhealthy lifestyle or aging. Working out can also help some people sleep better and possibly alleviate some mood disorders in certain individuals. Developing research has demonstrated that many of the benefits of exercise are mediated through the role of skeletal muscle as an endocrine organ. That is, contracting muscles release multiple substances known as myokines which promote the growth of new tissue, tissue repair, and various anti-inflammatory functions, which in turn reduce the risk of developing various inflammatory diseases. The Private Gym is the first ever FDA registered pelvic exercise program for men of all ages. We worked with the leading experts in the world to develop the first fitness program to target, train and strengthen the male pelvic muscles. The prostate, bladder and penis are controlled by a complex set of pelvic muscles. These are the same muscles you use when you stop yourself from urinating. These muscles are weak to begin with and get weaker with age. Weak pelvic muscles can result in erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation and soft erections. The Private Gym Program isolates and strengthens these important pelvic muscles. It's an interactive, follow along DVD and online exercise program that guides you week by week. Our expertly designed Kegel exercises for men start with the basic flex and become progressively harder each week. Once you achieve initial pelvic muscle strength, we then add the resistance equipment to the program.

These are the 7 best exercises for men to build muscle fast. Whether you're a beginner, a skinny guy struggling to get bigger, or even if you're advanced these exercises will help you gain muscle mass faster. You should be incorporating a couple of these everyday obviously leaving enough time for recovery. You can also combine these exercises into full body muscle building workouts that provide the best results. 🔥 FREE 6 Week Body Transformation Challenge: http://bit.ly/lose-fat23 ☝️☝️☝️ TIMESTAMPS: #1-Barbell row 1:04 #2- Barbell and dumbbell chest presses 2:48 #3- Barbell squats 4:33 #4- The pull up 7:12 #5 -Deadlift 8:51 #6- Shoulder press 10:15 #7- Power clean 11:51 If you're looking for the simplest solution to build muscle in a fast and efficient way, the bottom line so to speak, I gotta say it doesn't get much simpler than this. Because after spending years building muscle naturally I've learned that there are certain useless exercises that you should avoid entirely other exercises that you might want to consider incorporating and then there are the exercises that you just cant go without. Exercises that by themselves have the power to transform your physique. I've narrowed this list down to just seven of the most important exercises that you absolutely should have as a staple part of your routine to efficiently build the most muscle in the shortest amount of time. By mastering these 7 key compound exercises you'll see incredible results even if you're not doing any other exercises in the gym. And I made this video specifically for men not because women can't benefit from these exercises as well but because the ideal attractive body type for men is a V shape whereas for women it's more of an hourglass figure. So even though a lot of the exercises do crossover for both men women this video is specifically to help you develop the best manly physique with the least amount of exercises possible. I'm going to list off these exercises in no particular order, so Let's start first with a very important upper body exercise the bent over barbell Row. With this exercise you'll be working the rhomboids which are the muscles that connect your shoulder blades together so your upper back muscles and you'll also be working the back of your shoulder and your biceps. This is one of the most important pulling movements that you can do. Because you're working multiple muscle groups responsible for Pulling you're able to lift a lot more weight with this compound exercise then if you were to isolate any one of these muscles individually. By strengthening your rhomboids and your posterior deltoid you'll be tightening up your upper back which will help you hold yourself straight up and maintain a better more attractive upright posture. Since you can lift heavy weight with this exercise your biceps are also going to get a lot of stimulation because you'll be lifting a weight that would be impossible to lift with an isolated movement like bicep curls. A basic bent over row is done by grabbing a barbell with your hands a little wider than shoulder-width apart. Stick your butt out and stick your chest out before beginning the movement. Then bend down by about 60 degrees so you're a little higher than being fully parallel to the ground and you want let the weight hang straight down, do not flex your shoulders. While keeping your chest out pull the barbell inward towards your stomach and aim to touch your belly button with the bar. Then bring it back down to that hanging position and repeat this motion for reps. The great thing about rows is that you can do it with a barbell or you can do it with dumbbells, but a general rule of thumb to remember is that you'll be able to lift more weight and typically you'll be able to build more mass with barbells over dumbbells. Also by changing the angles at which you bend during a bent over row you can Target different parts of your back. A fully bent-over position where you're at a 90 degree angle will Target more of your lats and the middle of your back whereas standing more upright will Target more of your traps and upper back. Let's move on to another staple exercise that you should be doing, barbell and dumbbell chest presses. While the rows will help you develop the posterior or the back part of your upper body the chest presses are there to help you develop the anterior or the front part of your upper body. It'll hit your chest, the front head of your shoulders as well as your triceps. With chest presses you want to spend the majority of your time doing them at two different angles flat and incline. If your weakness is your upper chest you want to spend more of your time doing incline presses. if your upper chest is fine but you lack lower chest development you want to spend more of your time doing flat movements. Now the reason why I didn't mention the decline angle is because with flat presses 🔥 FREE 6 Week Body Transformation Challenge: http://bit.ly/lose-fat23 ☝️☝️☝️

Ditch the treadmill and follow 6'9: ft tall bodybuilder, Ike Catcher, outside for high-intensity cardio at the world famous Muscle Beach in Venice, California. ► Shop Shop Muscle Beach Nutrition Supplements: https://bbcom.me/2UnZtJh ► All Access 7-Day Free Trial: https://bbcom.me/2UmrssQ There's more to Muscle Beach Venice than heavy lifting. Building big, beach-ready muscles is only half the battle. If you really want to show off those muscles, you're going to have to sweat. Smart cardio will help you lean down, but why torture yourself on the stair stepper when you can go free-range? That's what Muscle Beach Nutrition athlete Ike Catcher does using this beach bodyweight workout. This workout is simple yet effective. You'll trade in the cardio machines for sprints, kicks, and crunches. Since you'll be doing high-intensity bodyweight exercises, you'll strengthen your muscles and sharpen your cuts while you're burning fat. "This is not a muscle-building exercise, this is more of an aerobic exercise," Catcher explains. "The goal of this workout is to lose fat and to limber up." Catcher is a lucky man—he has a sandy beach outfitted with a full gym at his disposal. But not all of us are this fortunate. If you're landlocked but have access to a heavy bag, do the kicking and crunching in the gym and go outside for everything else. If you have a beach but not a bag, grab a friend and some strike pads to make it a partner workout. Pairing up can make timing easier, too. Mix this workout in with your lifting days to stay lean and lithe. "I would recommend doing this workout two or three times a week," Catcher says. "It's gonna get you definitely stronger, more explosive, more healthy, and more fit than before." To focus and prepare yourself to work at your maximum potential, take a high-quality pre-workout like Pre-Train 30-60 minutes before you warm up. | Ike Cather's Bodyweight Beach Workout | 1. Warm-Up a. Bodyweight Lunge: 3 sets, 30 reps per leg b. High Knee Jog: 3 sets, 20 m c. Skip: 3 sets, 20 m (back and forth) d. Butt Kicks: 3 sets, 20 m (back and forth) e. Broad Jump: 3 sets, 20 m (back and forth) f. Pushups: 3 sets, to failure 2. Sprint: 5 sets, 50 m (run one direction, walk back) 3. Front Kick: 1 set, 3-5 mins 4. Side Kick: 1 set, 3-5 mins 5. Spin Kick: 1 set, 3-5mins 6. Freestyle Kick: 1 set, 3-5 mins 7 Crunches: 3 sets, 20-30 reps Warm-Up If you've ever run track or cross-country, most of these warm-up drills will be familiar. Lunges, high knees, skips, and butt kicks are dynamic exercises that open up your range of motion, transport blood to your muscles, and prime your body for the explosive movements to come. Broad jumps build power, and push-ups wake up your upper body. Sprint Follow Catcher's lead and take advantage of the soft sand to practice running barefoot (wet sand is best for this). Going barefoot works the stabilizer muscles of the feet and ankles, and can help build up your calves. When you sprint, really go balls out. Catcher runs these at 90-100 percent of maximum effort. This kind of interval training does a lot of work in a very small amount of time. It may not seem like much volume, but you'll feel it afterward. Kicks This series of four kick variations delivers quality cardio while building agility, quickness, and coordination. By working in different movement patterns, you'll hit your legs from varying angles perfect for developing a balanced physique and functional strength. If you're new to boxing, you could even do air kicks for this part of the workout, without the heavy bag. Keep the intensity high and you'll get a legit workout while honing your technique. | Follow Ike Catcher | ► Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ikecatcher/ | Muscle Beach Nutrition Supplements | ► CRTN-3: https://bbcom.me/2UqEJk4 ► 100% All-Pro: https://bbcom.me/2UqEXrq ► Pre-Train: https://bbcom.me/2UqFdqo ► Premium Shaker: https://bbcom.me/2UqFmKs ► Fill-N-Go Funnel: https://bbcom.me/2Umo3dn ============================================= | Follow Us | ► Twitch: http://bit.ly/2q1dttE ► YouTube: http://bit.ly/1RSJFa4 ► Facebook: http://on.fb.me/1lomhpr ► Instagram: http://bit.ly/1LzBxab ► Twitter: http://bit.ly/1RSJQlL ► Google+: http://bit.ly/1NRe8qu ► Pinterest: http://bit.ly/1OOZgY4 ► Spotify: http://spoti.fi/1NRebm0 We are Bodybuilding.com. Get more out of every ab exercise and workout you do here http://athleanx.com/x/train-your-abs-like-an-athlete There are millions of ab workouts and ab exercise combinations that you can do to help you get six pack abs. That said, if you aren’t doing your ab exercises the way I’m showing you in this video, you could be leaving a lot of potential results on the table. In this ab workout video, I show you the number one tip for getting six pack abs from your training. Of course, thinking that you can ignore your nutrition and have this work is a big mistake. Remember, abs are made in the gym and revealed in the kitchen. So, what makes this tip so effective? First of all, this works in any ab workout. You can opt to do your ab workouts at home or at the gym and this will work equally well either place. This also helps to improve the quality of the abdominal muscle that you do develop. Too many people worry about simply getting through an ab exercise without worrying about what muscles are doing the work to get you there. If you want to see faster results from your ab workouts you have to learn how to contract your abs on every rep of every ab exercise. I show you how to apply this to two of the most popular home ab exercises around, the crunch and reverse crunch. Performing the exercise correctly technically does not mean that you performed it as effectively as you could have. In the example of the crunch, I show you how simply lifting your shoulder blades off the ground and keeping a posterior tilt is technically considered a proper rep. However, if you want to make the abs do much more work and in turn develop much better six pack abs, you will have to forcefully contract your abdominals on every rep. You cannot coast your way through an ab workout if you want it to deliver serious results. In order to get ripped 6 pack abs at home or at the gym you need to worry about the quality of every rep you perform. An ab workout cannot even truly be called a good abs workout if you don’t follow this advice. If you want to get a ripped six pack for summer, then it’s time you start performing your ab workouts with more intensity. Try this ab work out tip I show you the next time you work your abs and then head to http://athleanx.com to get the full ATHLEAN-X Training System. Train like an athlete from head to toe and build ripped, athletic muscle like the pros. For more ab workout videos and the best ab exercises for getting a six pack, be sure to subscribe to our channel here on youtube at http://youtube.com/user/jdcav24

Be shredded year round - http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW Mention the word shredded and you will likely conjure up thoughts of being ripped, muscular, vascular and with tremendous muscle definition. While your level of body fat and ultimately your leanness will be impacted greatly by your diet and the foods that you eat, you can influence the way your muscles look just by adjusting some of the techniques you use in your workouts. In this video, I’m going to show you how to get that shredded look fast by incorporating overcoming isometrics into your workouts. The four that I show you are great for either dedicated back day or chest day (or more functionally on upper body push or pull day). Before starting them however, you want to know the difference between an overcoming and a yielding isometric. Most people that use isometrics for training are familiar with the yielding type. This is where you have a heavier weight in your hands that you are attempting to resist it’s fall or the force of gravity acting upon it. Think of holding a heavy barbell in a mid position of a curl and not letting it drop down towards your thighs. This would be tough to do and it would result in an intense contraction of your biceps. On the other hand, you could position your hands at ninety degrees in relation to your sides (as in the same mid position of a curl) and instead push up on a fixed or nonmoving bar. As you push as hard as you can you increasingly recruit more motor units to participate in the activity and ultimately increase the strength of the contraction. This is an overcoming isometric and this is where you can do the most beneficial things for your strength in that given range of motion as well as maintain the safety of your joints in the process. Here I show you how to apply this technique in the contracted or more shortened position of your upper body pushing muscles and then in the more elongated state. The same is then done for the muscles of the posterior chain as well. The key to the effectiveness of using overcoming iso’s for getting ripped and more muscular looking is to aim to increase muscle tone by gradually increasing the resting state of the muscle and getting it used to producing more overall tension. Aim to hold each rep for 6 seconds for maximum benefits. You should look to build the strength of the contraction from the first second to the last. Throw in a few of these to each session and in no time you will see a quick difference in the appearance of the muscles and their hardness without doing anything else different in your workouts. Keep in mind, the most effective combination is to make sure that you are dialing in your nutrition at the same time to drop your levels of body fat and reveal more of that muscle definition that you are developing. If you are looking for a workout program that utilizes not just this technique but others designed to get fast results, head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. See how training like an athlete can get you to start dropping fat, building muscle and getting ripped year round. I will coach you through every one of your workouts and meals and make sure you do not fail on the plan. Well that's exactly what i want to go over today the 5 biggest & best muscle building tips for beginners & naturals. You might be thinking well who the heck are you to be giving me tips on building muscle & that's a very fair question. Afterall i spend most of the time on this channel talking about fat loss but my experience in fitness is firmly rooted in natural bodybuilding. I took myself from being a chubby teenager with hardly any muscle to a 230 pound fitness model & I did it all naturally. So if you want to learn how to build muscle using steroids there are probably way better sources out there but if you want to learn how to do it naturally give this video a chance because I spent over 10 years focusing on finding the fastest ways to build muscle, & in the process of opening 3 gyms I also prepped a lot of men & women for natural bodybuilding & bikini competitons. So today I want to give you all my most guarded muscle building secrets for free. I'm also going to do my best to make all these tips unique so it's not going to be the same old stuff that you've heard over & over again like simply telling you to eat more protein. With that said let's start with the very first tip which is to incorporate periodization. If done correctly this is one of the most powerful things you can do to improve your muscle strength & size consistently. In a nutshell periodization is the systematic breakdown of your training plan over the course of time & it will include micro meso & macro Cycles. Which will esentially break down your training plan in to weeks months & years. But instead of explaining to you every possible way that you could incorporate different cycles of periodization I'd rather give you guys a simple actionable plan to consistently make progress using the exact periodization strategy that helped me the most. Youre gonna start by finding out what maximal weight load you can lift for each of your compound exercises for roughly 9 to 10 reps. This means that if you select a weight that you can do for 11 reps you should up that weight & the same goes vice versa if you select a weight that's too heavy & you can only do it for 7 reps drop the weight. You're going to stick this rep range for 2 to 3 weeks straight & you're going to try to increase the weight that you're using over the course of these two to three weeks again staying within that 9 to 10 rep range. After those two to three weeks are over you're going to switch to a rep range of 5 to 7 reps. Again find the maximum weight you could do for that rep range which should obviously be more weight than what you were doing for 9 to 10 reps. Now you're going to stick to this new rep range for another two to three weeks once again trying to up the weight whenever you can as long as you stay Within that 5 to 7 rep range. Finally after youre done with those weeks you're going to do a rep range of 3 reps for all those compound exercises again for two to 3 weeks before switching back to the original 9 to 10 rep range. When you come back to the 9 to 10 rep range you'll notice that you were significantly stronger & able to lift more weight. And you just continuously work through these Cycles. Every time you come back to an old rep range you want to try to increase your weight load even if it's by 2.5 lbs. This method helped me break through some of my biggest plateaus that I've experienced with building muscle. Literally do exactly that & I promise you won't be disappointed with your results. Let's move on to the second tip increase meal frequency. Now I know this goes against my typical advice that I give for fat loss. For fat loss meal frequency doesn't matter that much but building muscle requires a lot of calories especially if youre struggling with building muscle you're going to need a lot of food. The only way that you're going to be able to eat enough throughout the day is by eating more often.

In this video I discuss the best back training workout that utilizes exercises for a big back, as well as exercises for a wider back based on current scientific literature and our anatomical understanding of the back muscles. It’s important that you not only choose the right exercises when performing a back workout for mass, but to also perform these exercises in the correct fashion to target the right muscles. If you’re looking to add more mass, depth, and width to your upper back and lower back while targeting muscles that are important for scapular and shoulder stability, then this is the best back workout video for you. Within the video I’m going to discuss 5 exercises that I believe are essential to grow a powerful and attractive looking back: the deadlift, pull-up, chest-supported row, lat pulldown, and scapular pull-up. I will go through each of these exercises and show the muscle anatomy worked in each exercise, as well as the best variations of these exercises based on current research. It’s also equally important that you are targeting the right back muscles when you perform each of these exercises. I discuss a few “cues” and tips that have helped me minimize the involvement of secondary muscles and focus on using my back throughout each movement. Don’t forget to give the video a like and leave a comment if you enjoyed it and found it useful! In this video, I walk you through the 5 key principles to building muscle over 50, so use these principles along with our free resources to get started today! *Use Compound Exercises (1:25) The 5 key exercises to include in the best workouts for men over 50 are Squats, Deadlifts, Rows, Bench Press, and Military press. You may have done these exercises before, but here at the Fit Father Project, we show you how to tweak them to keep them safe for aging bodies. Incorporating these exercises into workouts for men over 50 can be done in a couple of ways. Firstly, you could do a full body workout that has you completing all 5 exercises 2-3 times per week, just like we show you in our free video (https://fitfatherproject.com/get-free-muscle-workout). You could also do them as an upper/lower body split, where you would do Bench Press, Rows and Military Press on one day and Squats and Deadlifts on another day. *Understand Your Nutrition Needs (3:31) As you look to build muscle over 50, it’s more important to consider your nutrition needs than you would have in your 20’s and 30’s. This is because your metabolism lowers as you age and any excess in calories is more likely to be stored as additional body-fat. You need to prioritize a lean bulking nutrition plan to fuel your body for building muscle. What I mean by lean bulking is to have the optimum number of surplus calories above your TDEE (Total daily energy expenditure) to aid with building muscle. This should only be between 250 - 500 calories over, so as not to cause too much excess that will mean fat gain. To calculate your TDEE, here's the Calorie Calculator We Mentioned → https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uTgdg9q3I-zz18w34MG3br8vCbpkW-kxLnWw46qxjdI/edit?usp=sharing *Use Proper Supplementation (7:12) The first thing I tell all the guys I train is that supplements are exactly that… supplemental. They are used as a way to optimize the 2 principles above: exercise and nutrition. If you are not following those 2 principles, any amount of supplements will not lead to muscle gain or improved health and wellness. My recommendations are: Creatine - Increases strength and your ability to push more weight. Also helps preserve muscle, especially in aging guys. 5g to be taken daily. Protein powder - Supports your protein intake and can be taken as Whey, Whey/Casein Blend or a plant based blend. Should be taken post-workout. Vitamin D3 - Increases testosterone and keeps your immune system strong. Multivitamin - Ensures you are getting optimal levels of vitamins and minerals. Fish Oil - Helps with joint care and brain health. Turmeric/Curcumin - Reduces inflammation, especially in joints. *Get Enough Rest & Recovery (9:42) A little R & R is always good for you, right? Well, when it comes to building muscle over 50, it’s incredibly good for you and very important. You need to aim to get an absolute minimum of 7 - 7.5 hours of undisturbed sleep each night. To help with sleeping well, you can use Melatonin supplements, Herbal teas, and should avoid using screens for at least 1 hour before bed, to blue blocking light that can disturb your sleep patterns by tricking your body into thinking it’s still daylight. *Optimize Testosterone Naturally (10:30) Testosterone is the most important hormone when it comes to building muscle, but as you age your testosterone levels decrease by 1% per year after 30-35 years old. This makes it harder to put on muscle, but easier to gain fat. For this reason, you need to optimize your testosterone levels. I would recommend doing this naturally by following the information in this guide ►► https://www.fitfatherproject.com/natural-testosterone-supplements-that-work-guide/ I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy this holiday workout routine. I wish you the best of luck on your journey and don’t forget we’re here for you all the way! Get the complete workout plan to build muscle in 90 days http://athleanx.com/x/what-skinny-guys-use-to-add-size Skinny guys and hardgainers have a very difficult time building muscle. Usually the issue is two pronged with both their workouts and nutrition plan to blame for their lack of muscle size. In this video, I’m covering the mistakes made in the workouts and giving you a workout plan for skinny guys that will help you to start adding muscle to your frame without having to sacrifice your low body fat level you likely are starting with. In order to build muscle as a skinny guy you have to look yourself in the mirror and confront your fears first. I know it sounds odd but it is a common problem that sets the roadblock up, preventing you from making any progress. Many hardgainers will fear going to the gym because they don’t want to face the ridicule of the bigger guys around them. That has to stop today. In fact, you’d likely find that if you talked to the majority of these big muscle guys that they would admire your pursuit of change and might even sympathize with you having taken that journey themselves already. Once you get to the gym it’s time to start simplifying your workout plan. The biggest problem with skinny guys is that they try and to more rather than less. It’s an obvious mistake and one that I can see why people make so often. That said, if you are not enhanced and are a natural lifter, doing less is almost always the first step to take rather than trying more. That said, you want to pick just one exercise for each of the six major muscle groups in your body. These are your chest, back, shoulders, legs, and arms. The exercises you choose should be compound in nature and hit multiple muscles at one time. Not just that but these exercises allow you to gradually load up the weight over time as you get stronger. This is why you would pick a barbell curl instead of a concentration curl. Once you identify the exercises you are going to use (my suggestions are provided in the video) then you want to actually lower the weight you might be inclined to try and use. Remember, your discomfort in the gym might make you try and compensate by swinging around weights that you simply cannot command. Don’t do this. Instead, back down on the weight and make sure you can actually lift it with good form and own it. From here, the fun begins. Add weight to the bar on every exercise at every opportunity. Soon you will see that your muscles will grow almost before your eyes. You will gain confidence and you will see muscle growth that will inspire you to keep going. Your only goal at this point should be to be sure you are pushing yourself as hard as you can. Only when you get comfortable being uncomfortable will you see the gains continue to come at a rapid pace. If you are looking for a complete workout plan that helps you to build the foundation of strength needed to pack on muscle size and mass, then head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. Start training like an athlete and start looking like one faster than you ever thought before. What's more, a broad back makes the rest of your body look that much better. With your lats flared out like a cobra snake, for example, your waist will appear to shrink in comparison, even if it's the same circumference it's always been. The question, of course, is how to build such a prodigious back. Folks, welcome to Jake Alvarez's back-attack workout. Class is in session. In the video, Jake demonstrates five back exercises. Before beginning each set of a new exercise, Jake typically does a single warm-up set of higher reps to prime his body for the upcoming movement. It would be wise for you to do the same! Train with me for 90 days - http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW If you have been wanting to build muscle but you just haven’t been seeing the results that you have been looking for with other workouts, it is time to rethink your approach. In this video, I’m going to give you a muscle building 101 course on the most important things you need to focus on when it comes to building bigger muscles and achieving muscle hypertrophy. No gimmicks or phony shortcuts needed here. Just pure muscle building science to help you get over the hump and start packing some size on your frame. To get you started, it is important to understand that everything comes down to just one concept and that is the intensity of your training. Now I don’t just mean how psyched up you are to tackle your next workout. I mean, in addition to that, how intensely focused are you on achieving your goal? If you are as much as you say you are, then you will realize that there are many things that need to be addressed outside of just showing up to the gym and trying hard. It starts with a plan. No successful lifter has ever built appreciable amounts of muscle size without having a plan for getting there. I’m not just talking about knowing what you are going to do in the gym that day (although that would be a great start)! I’m talking about knowing how this workout is going to impact the next one and the next one after that. With a goal in mind you need to have a map for getting to your goal and it starts with knowing what steps you are going to take from one workout to the next. With that in mind, it is now time to actually start lifting the weights. From here, the intensity that I hinted at in the beginning becomes crucial. Are you simply counting to 10 or 12 or are you pushing with every bit of effort with the rep count secondary? I hope it’s the latter. When it comes to training for more muscle size you need to realize that your effort will dictate everything. Overload is critical. The use of compound lifts to build up a strength base is a must in order to set the stage for growth. Your use of other techniques (like volume training) should still equate to an overall overload if the end goal is to get bigger. This is where many people fall off the path. There is simply no way around hard work when you are trying to build muscle. Which leads us to the next point and that is, once your set is done what are you doing with your time. If you sit around and let far too much time pass between sets then you are dramatically decreasing the effectiveness of the workout. Rest times should be prescriptive and serve to keep your muscles stressed for the entire workout. They should not be looked at as times to jump on social media and take you out of the frame of mind necessary for building muscle. In fact, some people ease into their rest periods too quickly. I believe that the use of some sort of set intensifying technique (like drop sets, forced reps, negatives, super sets, etc) is a great way to ensure that you tap into the reserves that your body was likely hanging onto that your mind was unwilling to let go. If you want to achieve greater muscle size you are going to need to interrupt that thought pattern and train harder. I always say, you can train hard or you can train long but you can’t do both. Finally, every natural lifter knows that the only way to build bigger muscles is to allow your body to recover between workouts. This simply can’t happen if you aren’t prioritizing it. In fact, I would say that even if you get everything else right up to this point, if you screw this up, you will blow all opportunities to grow as big as possible. If you are looking for a complete program that helps you to do each of the steps laid out here day by day, head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. I will literally coach you through every single day and make sure you never forget how to apply each of these concepts to your workouts and meals. In no time, you’ll be looking like an athlete by training like one. When it comes to the “best chest workout”, it really comes down to choosing exercises that allow symmetrical growth in the upper chest, middle chest, and lower chest while still providing overall mass to your chest. If your chest workout is unbalanced and favours one portion of your chest over the other, overtime this will lead to imbalances and take away from the aesthetics of your chest. In this video I’ll show you guys the best workout for chest based on scientific literature and our anatomical understanding of the body. It includes the best upper chest exercises, middle chest exercises, and lower chest exercises to help evenly shape and build your chest. The upper chest will be prioritized through movements that involve shoulder flexion. The middle chest will be prioritized through any horizontal adducting movements that don’t involve shoulder flexion or extension. The lower chest will be prioritized through movements that involve shoulder extension. Although the chest exercises in this video have been carefully chosen through my analysis of many studies, it doesn’t account for every individual. So feel free to swap out some exercises for other chest exercises that you feel better chest activation with. Build muscular, ripped legs here - http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW Anyone that has ever struggled to build muscle has likely dealt with skinny legs and become frustrated trying to add mass. In this video, I’m going to give you 4 leg workout tips for mass that will help even the hardest of hardgainers to pack on size and start bulking up your legs in no time. The first thing that most guys with skinny legs get wrong is that they allow their ego and self consciousness get in the way of what they should be doing in their leg workouts. No doubt, it can be a bit intimidating to watch others around you squat multiple plates while you are struggling to lift even one big plate for clean reps. That’s ok. Everyone starts somewhere and if you choose to start further ahead of where you should be it is a mistake that is going to hold you back for years to come. Most guys with skinny legs will put more weight on the bar than they can handle in the squat and then proceed to crank out quarter reps. Not only is this robbing your legs of the stress that they can handle but you are doing this at the exclusion of doing the reps you should be doing to build bigger legs the right way. What you need to do is lower the weight to those that you can handle and get your intensity not from the heavier weights but from the high rep sets that you do in good form through full range of motion. The next thing the hardgainer has to do for his legs is learn how to properly push from the ground. There is no way that you are going to lift as much weight as you can in your leg workouts unless you learn how to push through your feet. An equal and opposite force is needed to lift the weight that is on your shoulders during a squat. There is no better place to learn this than with the deadlift exercise. The deadlift demands that you push through your legs during the first half of the left, beyond which point it becomes a pulling exercise. If you practice just the first half of the deadlift or combine it in one and a half rep fashion, you will build more strength through the legs off the floor. The will dramatically help you to increase your squat and lift heavier weights over time. Multi-dimensional leg training is also important to fully developed legs. Almost all of the leg exercises that hardgainers use only stress the legs in the sagittal plane. Squats, leg extensions and leg curl are all one plane exercises that don’t mimic the functionality of the legs and limit the amount of growth that can be had by training the adductors and abductors of the legs as well. Finally, I like to include exercises for the legs that are technically easier to perform than the squat and allow for someone just starting out to add weight faster. The Bulgarian Split Squat is a great exercise for doing this since it literally puts you in the right position to perform the exercise. The quads get loaded and the safety of the exercise is intact since you can simply dump the weights if you need to at the bottom of the squat without risk. For a complete program that hardgainers have used to build muscle and keep low levels of body fat, head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System. Build athletic legs and get ripped without compromising your long term health or gains by using the same program relied on by today’s top professional athletes. Whether you are following a total body workout split or a bro split (or any variation of) you are going to want to watch this video. Find out the best workout split for building maximum muscle gains and overall performance. There is a key message that you will not want to miss when it comes to answering this question truthfully and without relying on simple studies to do so. When we talk about workout splits we are referring to the way that you break up your training over a period of time. Generally, this is the amount of workouts that it takes to complete one cycle of training and that ensures that you are hitting all of the areas you are attempting to target in your workouts. One of the most popular ways to split up workouts right now is actually one of the oldest in the books, and that is total body training. This refers to performing three total body workouts per week, generally on a Monday, Wednesday and a Friday with the remainder of the days either being reserved for conditioning or rest. The benefits to this type of training are the higher focus on compound lifts that are designed to hit maximum muscle in each lift as well as the increased time for recovery. Additionally, as science would indicate, hitting a muscle (even with a lower daily volume) more frequently in a training cycle is one of the most effective ways to make it grow. This would mean that if you were once following a more traditional bro split where you trained say chest just once per week with twelve to sixteen sets you would now be doing it as four to five sets per day over the three days in the week. The restimulation of the chest every 48 hours is sufficient to increase muscle protein synthesis without waiting too long to hit the muscle again (as would happen with a bro split - or at least a poorly planned one). Does that mean that bro splits don’t work? Not at all. In fact, this is one of those instances of throwing the baby out with the bath water. Nobody could argue that the single muscle group per day routine has been effective for some. Maybe not as much as total body training, but there are many instances of it working well, and quite well to be exact. How can that be? How can something that is somehow proven by science to be inferior actually produce results that in some cases are superior? That is because the real best way to split your workout for maximum gains is to switch what you are doing when you can honestly answer that you have stopped making gains in either strength, size or both. Just because something is supposed to be the best doesn’t mean that it is best for you at this time. Changing your split may reveal to you that certain muscle groups of yours are more responsive on a different training cycle. The best you could do at that point is take the observations that you have made and use them to adapt your workout plan to idealize the volume and frequency that your body responds to the best. This video is meant to open your eyes to that possibility. If you are looking to change your current workout split and want to be sure you are putting the latest science into your workouts to make sure you get it right, head to the link below to pick the program best suited to your goals. Secrets to Staying Ripped at 60: http://go2.sixpackshortcuts.com/SH2ZN Hey Guys! Toby Buttle here with Abs After 40. Competing as a college athlete as well as being a former US Marine, fitness has always been an important part of my life. Now, since reaching middle age, I can say that I’m in the best shape ever, even at the age of 60. Today, we’re going to go through my favorite upper-body cable routine. When executing these workouts, make sure to choose a weight setting you are confident in executing 10-12 repetitions with - no need to go heavy on this workout since we’ll be focusing on control and muscle contraction. Make sure to have your first set be a warm up, that way you can better figure out the weight you want to use and let your muscles get warm for the movement. Let’s get started: 0:51 - Cable Crossover; High to Low - Attach the stirrup handles to the pulleys and position both pulleys to the very top of the station. Get to the start position by standing centered between each pulley, grabbing both handles at the top and take 2 steps forward. Your feet should be positioned almost in a lunge with the front knee bent, back straight and arms bent slightly at the elbow across your body with palms facing one another. Begin the movement by letting the weights descend on the stack and your elbows travel back, keeping arms slightly bent. Once your elbows reach past your torso, return your arms back to the start position. Make sure to keep constant tension on your chest and front deltoids throughout the whole set. 2:36 - Cable Chest Press - Now position the pulleys lower on the cable station, just below shoulder level. The start position is similar to that of the first cable crossover, only this time with palms facing the floor and hands together. Imagine hugging a wide tree trunk with your arms, keeping them bent slightly at the elbow and in the same position throughout the movement. Let the elbows begin to travel back and the weights return to the stack. Once the elbows reach behind the torso, return your arms to the start position. 3:55 - Bent Over Cable Crossover - Return the pulleys to the very top position on the machine. Similar to our first cable crossover exercise, grab the handles and take a step forward. Your arms should be slightly bent and in front of your body, with fists together at the knuckles. The key difference while executing a Bent Over Cable Crossover is making sure that your body is bent at the hip with your back flat and parallel to the ground. From the start position, let the weights begin to return to the stack, stopping once the elbows reach behind your torso and then returning to the start. 5:24 - Cable Pullover - We’re only going to need 1 pulley this time`. Make sure the pulley is at the very top and switch out the handle for a straight bar attachment. Get into the start position by grabbing the straight bar with an overhand grip at shoulders width and take a step back, pulling your hands down to your lower thighs. Make sure your elbows and wrists are straight, knees slightly bent and your back flat with the torso at 45-degree angle bent at the waist. Begin by slowly releasing the weight, letting your arms reach as high as above the shoulder, then pulling the weight back down to the start position. Thanks for training upper body using cables with me today everyone. pelvic floor and kegel exercises for men. Here in this video i talk about pelvic floor and kegel exercises for men. The best exercises are going to be the bodyweight squat, the lunge, and the isometric wall squat, these exercises are going to be best for your pelvic floor area, the best kegel exercise is simply going to be flexing your kegel muscles. Well how the heck do you find your kegel muscles? Very simple. All you are going to do, is simply stoping urinating mid stream, when you stop, you will be using your kegel muscles. Once you understand this, you can now flex these muscles all the time. A very important tip is to make sure you do not stop urinating all the time as a way to train your kegel muscles, this will actually make your kegel muscles weaker and can cause bladder issues as well. So just make sure your not urinating when you are doing the exercises. As for what reps and sets to do for these exercises, its very simple. You do 3 sets of 10 reps, 3 times a day for all of the exercises, i have listed. Do this and i guarantee you will see results.

While the back might not be one of the standard go-to "show muscles" or have an international day named after it—ahem, chest—a wide, muscular back is essential to a well-rounded physique. It's the key to looking dense, thick, and powerful. This upper-body workout will help you lift your way to larger lats, stronger traps, and a muscular middle back. Some of the movements will even hit your biceps and shoulders. Follow my directions, and you'll be well on your way to a barn door back in no time. READY, WILLING, AND ABEL This hypertrophy workout is a high-volume, muscle-building assault. It will most definitely help you build the solid, thick back musculature you're after, but it won't be easy. You'll need to put in some serious work. Get your head ready, because this bomber back session includes a hearty helping of dropsets, trisets, intraset stretching, and good ol' heavy lifting. Lift to failure on all your sets, but stay focused on form. Keep your rest periods to a minimum and don't waste time. During my hypertrophy workouts, I keep my own rest between sets to roughly 60 seconds, and I never exceed 80 seconds. All of these movements emphasize the lats, delts, and traps while throwing in a good amount of midback and shoulder work. Sometimes a workout can get a bit confusing with all these exercises targeting different groups of muscles. In fact, you don't need hundreds of different exercises and use every single fancy-looking piece of equipment. Few people know that if you want to build muscles all over your body, it's enough to know just 3 exercises and do them correctly. Change your workout routine! 8:30 Music by Epidemic Sound https://www.epidemicsound.com/ SUMMARY: - The great thing about the ab wheel roller is that this device helps you to strengthen tons of different muscles. Every time you do an ab wheel rollout, you work more than 20 muscles! - Your bottom shouldn't sag toward the ground during the exercise. You need to keep your back (from head to tailbone) as straight as you can. - Roll out slowly and steadily. Your arms should be straight and even — this will help you prevent the wheel from spinning out of control. - Jumping challenges your nervous system, makes you stronger, and improves your endurance and athletic abilities. - Your vertical jump will be the highest if you jump off 2 feet. This way, the strength of your legs will literally push you off the ground. - Before doing long jumps, it's better to find out which is your dominant foot and leap off it. The best place to practice long jumps is a sandpit so you can avoid injuries. - When you climb a rope, you work muscles all over your body. This exercise not only develops your upper body but also improves your coordination and agility. - To build muscle, you should eat 4–5 times a day. Make sure you have 2 to 3 hours between your meals. This way, your body will always have some energy to build muscle. - Remember to eat a lot of vegetables throughout the day. Spinach contains glutamine, which is excellent for growing lean muscle. Brussels sprouts are packed not only in protein but also in fiber. - Specialists advise that you do not train for longer than one hour if you want to build muscle mass. - If you feel you've reached a plateau where you’re not seeing any progress, start to change your rep range every 4 weeks. Get the complete program - http://athleanx.com/x/all-included Subscribe to this channel here - http://bit.ly/2b0coMW If your trap workout never leaves you with sore traps the day after, it could be that you did not train them hard enough to stimulate them to grow. Delayed onset muscle soreness is not necessarily a requirement for muscle growth however creating overload is. In this 6 minute trap workout routine, I show you a simple yet effective way to train your traps in a way that soreness is guaranteed the next day. Here is how to execute this brief but effective trap workout. Start with a barbell loaded up with a weight that is considered heavy for shrugs but not too heavy since you are going to be required to perform 55 reps with this weight. In this demo, I chose 245 lbs, which is heavy but certainly not approaching what I could do for max poundage. Start by performing 10 reps of a barbell shrug and then immediately follow with a 10 second hold in the contracted position. The key for the effectiveness of this trap workout however is the way in which you move the shoulders and bar on each rep. Rather than lifting them straight up and down, you want to lift up and back at an angle, pulling your shoulders up towards your ears. On the way down, rather than lowering them in a straight line instead let the shoulders round forward a bit. This extra excursion of the shoulders forward will place a much greater stretch on the trap muscles. This is due to the insertion of the traps being on the lateral aspect of the clavicle and the acromion. As the shoulders move forward, so too do the traps. Combined with the heavy weights being controlled on the eccentric, this is what provides the added stress to the traps and leads to the mechanical stress on the muscles that results in the delayed onset muscle soreness the following day. After completing your initial 10 reps and 10 second hold, you immediately move onto 9 reps and a 9 second hold. You attempt to keep descending in this fashion until you have completed your final rep and one second hold. If you should finish all reps and there is time still remaining on your running clock of 6 minutes, perform an isometric trap hold for the remaining time if possible. If at any point you are unable to keep the descent going and you need to put down the bar, you will perform the second traps exercise in the workout, the trap raise. This can be done with a single weight plate just outside of the rack you are doing your shrugs in. Raise the plate with both hands straight up overhead as high as you can. Lower the plate back down under control. Perform 10 reps of this lower trap builder and immediately resume the descent to 1 on the barbell shrugs. This workout will show you just how effective training like an athlete can be, especially when you are willing to trade in workout length for intensity. If you would like to see how much more impressive your gains could be by training like an athlete for a full 90 days, be sure to head to http://athleanx.com and get the complete ATHLEAN-X Training System. These ten workout tips are the best advice that I can give someone who is wanting to build muscle, burn body fat, get six pack abs, build an amazing body or just start working out. Your body is a critical component of the image equation. Feeling good about your body is a critical component of your confidence and self-esteem. Creating and executing a diet and exercise plan is necessary for both components! Aaron Marino of alpha m. presents his top 10 fitness tips to help you realize your 'sexy-ass' physical potential. 1. Lift each body part once a week - your body needs rest. You can make progress and gains by lifting each body part once a week. Alpha explains, in detail, the cycle of exercise, rest, and building blocks. 2. Each body part includes your lower body - you need to do everything for a well-balance and symmetrical physique. 3. Don't be afraid of cardio - it's not 'muscle eating', and it's key to keeping your body fat low and keeping your heart & lungs healthy. 4. Most workout supplements are 'crap' - a lot of the products have no scientific based research backing their claims. Some of the stimulants get you 'up' but coffee will do the same thing! Buy and take a multivitamin first and foremost. Nutrition first, supplements seconds. 5. Change your body part workout every time - you will get results by the body responding and growing. If you do the same thing, your body will stop responding because it gets 'used to it'. 6. It's all about consistently - your body represents what you do most consistently. 7. You don't need a gym membership in order to exercise - there are a ZILLION things to do around your house. Use YouTube as a resource! You don't have to spend a lot to look great. 8. If you are going to the gym, know and respect gym etiquette such as put back dumbbells back on the rack and unload plates, don't drop or slam the weights, no selfies while working out, and wear deodorant and clean clothing, 8. Develop a program that's right for you - exercise to feel good about yourself and to experience the benefits. Starting is the hardest part. 10. You need to have a healthy diet! No exercise program works alone - it needs to be combined with a sensible diet. 80% of how you look is your diet! BONUS TIP - if you're not satisfied with results of your fitness routine, go back to tip #10.

Get every workout laid out for you phase by phase here… http://athleanx.com/x/every-workout-step-by-step Determining the best workout split is one of the most popular questions being asked by every person that works out. The answer however is not a simple one if you want to be truthful. Anyone that pretends to tell you the one best training split should be avoided when looking for helpful advice. This is because in order to know how to best split your muscle group training you need to ask many questions. The first thing you need to understand is what your current training goals are. Are you trying to build new muscle? Are you trying to improve your conditioning while losing body fat? Are you trying to develop explosive power and athleticism? The answer to that question can greatly alter the training split that would best fit your goal. Next you need to understand what type of training split you just completed. For instance, some workout splits are much more successful than others depending on the one that immediately preceded it. Following a period were you were doing high volume low weight training, your muscles are more primed and ready than ever for a change to lower volume. Whether or not you accompany that with an increase in weight would depend on whether strength was a priority for you or not. Additionally, not all splits are right for every body. If you were going to attempt to build bigger triceps because they were a weak muscle group for you then you would want to prioritize them with additional volume over the course of a training cycle. This could come in the form of a few additional sets at the end of 3 workouts in a week or as an additional day of training per week geared at the triceps. Finally, while push and pull muscle group splits have their advantages in helping to manage training volume they can’t be relied on as gospel for how you should train. For example, biceps and back are two muscle groups that act to “pull” when active. Training them on the same day would allow you to work the two similar functions without subjecting yourself to overtraining by continually training them on back to back days. That said, thinking that a push and a pull muscle group can’t be worked together because of this synergy would prevent you from realizing the gains you could see by training this way. See the example of how the back and triceps work well together in this video for an example of this. At the end of the day, the most important thing to do is make sure you are strategically varying your training splits. Never listen to someone that tells you the best training split to do unless they are aware of what your goals are and where in your training plan you currently are. They need to know what you’ve been training like leading up to this point as well. If you’re looking for a step by step workout plan that varies training splits from phase to phase and does so with science leading the way, be sure to head to http://athleanx.com and get the ATHLEAN-X Training System For more workout videos and best ways to split your muscle groups when training, be sure to subscribe to our channel here on youtube at http://youtube.com/user/jdcav24
