One Day in Hong Kong | Expedia

01:51
Consider yourself lucky when you land a long layover in Hong Kong, China, because you’ll have just enough time to explore the magnificent harbor city. Ready to ditch the airport terminal and paint the town red before your next flight? Delve into the culture, visit the hottest attractions, and nosh on some local grub to get a taste of the Pearl of the Orient. When you only have one day in Hong Kong, make Victoria Peak the first stop on your itinerary. As you venture to the top of the highest mountain on Hong Kong Island, you’re in for a real treat—the sweeping city views. At its peak, you’ll find a viewing deck, restaurants, and even shopping centers. For your next stop, make a beeline to the Tian Tan Buddha, located on Lantau Island. Standing 112 feet tall, the gigantic bronze statue sits on a lotus, surrounded by The Offering of the Six Devas statues. While you’re in town, hitch a ride on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car over the Tung Chung Bay, search for the Bruce Lee statue along the Avenue of Stars, and try some authentic dim sum. If you still have time to spare, climb aboard a junk and cruise around the archipelago of 260 islands. Don’t underestimate 24 hours in Hong Kong. Take advantage of your layover and soak up the culture outside of the airport. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on social media: TWITTER: twitter.com/expedia FACEBOOK: facebook.com/expedia INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/expedia GOOGLE+: plus.google.com/+expedia ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Follow us on our travel blog, Viewfinder: Viewfinder.expedia.com

Do you remember that scene in Pinocchio, when our favourite lying doll is convinced by honest John to take a vacation and then placed on a stage coach on its way to Pleasure Island where other misfit kids can do smoke cigars, drink and break things without any thought of consequences but are then turned into terrifying mini donkeys, the thought of which still sometime haunts my dreams by the way. Macau Travel Guide - Macao Day Trip from Hong Kong

16:54
Come join us for a day trip from Hong Kong (香港) as we visit Macau covering the best things to do in one day in our Macau Travel Guide (澳門 - 澳门). We started off our day waking up early in Hong Kong to get to the ferry terminal to take a TurboJET ferry to Macao. *Important* remember to take your passport as you're crossing one special administration region in China to another (Hong Kong to Macau) and you'll need to go through immigration on both sides (it doesn't take long). After arriving we took free transportation (provided by the casinos and hotels) to check out the Venetian Casino and Parisian Hotel. Then we were off to Taipa to mostly eat Macau street food and enjoy the old colonial architecture. We then made our way to Senado Square, the ruins of St. Paul's and Forte Monte while munching on plenty of Macanese street food before heading back to Hong Kong on a TurboJET ferry. As you can see you can do a lot in just one day in Macau but a few things we didn't get to do included gambling at casinos, going up Macau Tower or checking out the A-Ma temple. For more of the things we missed out on but are worth considering doing in Macau see our two lists below. Things to do in Macau Travel Guide: 1) TurboJET Ferry ride from Hong Kong to Macau (噴射飛航) which takes approximately one hour - 00:15 2) Visiting the Venetian Macao (澳門威尼斯人度假村酒店) luxury hotel and casino resort - 02:36 3) Visiting the Parisian (Chinese: 澳門巴黎人) luxury hotel in Cotai, Macau, China - 03:30 4) Visiting Taipa Houses–Museum (龍環葡韻住宅式博物館 - Casas-Museu da Taipa) - 04:13 5) Visit Taipa (氹仔) to eat street food in Macau and wander around - 05:05 6) Macau egg pudding - 05:31 7) Macau Pork Chop Bun (豬扒包) - 06:49 8) Portuguese style Macau egg tart (蛋撻 - 蛋挞) also known as Pastel de nata - 07:39 9) Free shuttle by from the casino hotels - 09:00 10) Senado Square (Largo do Senado - 議事亭前地) town square - 10:04 11) Ruins of St. Paul's (大三巴牌坊) - 11:22 12) Macau honey glazed pork jerky (豬肉乾) - 12:03 13) Macau almond cookies or biscuits (杏仁餅) - 13:25 14) Macanese Bubble tea with taro (波霸奶茶) - 14:24 15) Macao Museum or Macau Museum (澳門博物館 - Museu de Macau) - 15:26 16) Monte Fort (Fortaleza do Monte - 大炮台) - 15:44 17) TurboJET ferry ride from Macau (澳門 - 澳门) back to Hong Kong (香港) - 16:29 Things to do in Macau that we didn't have time for on our day trip 1) Gambling at the casinos in Macau 2) Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre (澳門旅遊塔會展娛樂中心) for views of Macau 3) A-Ma Temple (媽閣廟) 4) Grand Prix Museum (大賽車博物館) 5) Drink Portuguese wine 6) Macau Fisherman's Wharf (澳門漁人碼頭) 7) Macau Wine Museum (葡萄酒博物馆 - Museu do Vinho) GEAR WE USE Olympus OM-D E-M5 II: http://amzn.to/1OchS7t Canon G7X: http://amzn.to/1YdjsYX Olympus 14-150mm II Lens: http://amzn.to/1Y79zeM Rode Video Mic GO: http://amzn.to/1WDKtVM Joby Gorilla Pod: http://amzn.to/1PgoY5F SanDisk 16GB Extreme Pro: http://amzn.to/25KEErs SOCIAL MEDIA & TRAVEL BLOGS AUDREY: blog: http://thatbackpacker.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thatbackpacker/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbackpacker twitter: https://twitter.com/ThatBackpacker SAMUEL: blog: http://nomadicsamuel.com/ facebook: https://www.facebook.com/nomadicsamuel twitter: https://twitter.com/NomadicSamuel instragram: https://www.instagram.com/nomadicsamuel/ Our visit Macau travel guide documentary covers some of the top attractions including a food guide (best restaurants and street food), top museums and Macau at night and by day. DAY 106 - THE BEST OF HONG KONG IN ONE DAY! 🌃

08:26
Open me ↓ ↓ ↓ DAY 106 - THE BEST OF HONG KONG IN ONE DAY! // 24.01.2017 If you are typical tourists like us and have a limited time in Hong Kong, today's itinerary would be perfect for you. You can start your day with the wind in your hair by catching the Star Ferry from Kowloon to Central Hong Kong. Once you have arrived, head to Hollywood Road, where you will find Man Mo Temple; perfectly nestled in between the biggest skyscrapers we have ever seen. If you have the stamina, you could queue for the famous 'Peak Tram', which will take you up to Victoria Peak. Alternatively you could also do what we did and grab an Uber or even hike (not for the faint hearted). Once you reach the top and your ears have popped; you can look out towards some of the best city skylines in the world. Only from here can you fully appreciate just how impressive this city is. When you come back down to sea level, you can simply head back to Kowloon by train (no need to take another ferry...if you don't want to). The metro in Hong Kong is cheap and easy to navigate. You will find that here, the main language is English (alongside Cantonese of course), so you won't get lost. If you did hike up to Victoria Peak, then you would definitely hungry. We are always hungry (if you haven't already guessed), so we hit Temple Market. You can find clothes, gadget and souvenir shops here. Plus many places to eat. Things to do in Hong Kong - Day trip to Macau (2018) | Best use of Free Shuttles in Macau

12:58
Macau is the perfect day trip from Hong Kong. There are so many things to do in Macau, from checking out the casinos in themed hotels, such as the Venetian and the Parisian, roaming around the Senado Square eating egg tarts and bubble tea, bungee jumping from Macau Tower, clicking a picture with the ruins of St. Pauls Cathedral - these are just to name a few. This video is a perfect one day itinerary of Macau, and a guide to using free transportation - because all the casinos there have free shuttles which you can pretty much use throughout the day without paying for travel. The best way to go to Macau from Hong Kong is to take the Turbojet ferry, and it drops you there in an hour. Gorgeous views from the ferry by the way! Hong Kong: Traveling for $20 A Day - Ep 17

07:46
Hong Kong is one of the most expensive cities in Asia, but is it possible to travel in HK with 20 dollars a day? In fact, there are two methods for traveling HK with 20 USD (155 HKD) and I'm gonna show you how it's done! Support me on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/monkeyabroad First method to travel HK with 20 bucks: Book a hostel (~$18) and buy an egg sandwich at 7/11. Second method to travel HK with 20 bucks: MAKE A FRIEND, sleep on their couch, have 20 bucks left over do actually do stuff for the whole day (the method I chose). How I spent my day traveling in Hong Kong: Star Ferry ride - 3.4 HKD Subway ride - 4.5 HKD Breakfast - 25 HKD Lunch - 35 HKD Subway ride - 13.5 HKD Hiking Victoria Peak - FREE Sports drink - 19.5 HKD Dinner - 55 HKD Accommodation - FREE (friend's couch) TOTAL - 155.9 HKD ($20.10) Sick BEATS provided courtesy of The Passion HiFi http://www.thepassionhifi.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- About Me: My name is Kevin Cook. I'm originally from Dallas, TX, but I've been living and traveling in Asia since 2013. After graduating from university in 2011 and working a few unfulfilling jobs, I saved enough money to move to Asia and work as a teacher for a few years. That opportunity allowed me to travel around and experience new foods and cultures, and ignited a passion for blogging and making videos. Now I travel full-time and make videos with the goal that I can encourage YOU to pursue your own dream of overseas traveling and living. Shenzhen is an awesome energy packed place with shopping bazaars and malls everywhere you turn. If you are looking for inexpensive and bargain shopping while your staying in Hong Kong then Shenzhen is the place to go !! Visa on arrival cost was 168 Yuan (Chinese money - must be paid in Yuan - not hong kong dollar). (i have an Australian passport but cost does not vary that much). Most Hong Kong ATMS give RMB (Yuan). https://www.expedia.com/Hong-Kong.d178263.Destination-Travel-Guides Hong Kong, a former British territory, is one of the most densely populated places in China and in the world. You’ll find quiet neighborhoods full of temples and a dazzling skyline loaded with shopping and dining opportunities. Your Hong Kong tour must include visits to the many religious sites scattered around the city, where incense wafts from shrines and monasteries take over entire hillsides. You’ll have a marvelous time shopping in tax-free Hong Kong, where you’ll be able to find clothing, jewelry, furniture, and everything else under the sun. Don’t forget about Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, which overlooks the stunning Victoria Harbor. From there, your Hong Kong sightseeing may detour to Central, the city’s main business district, which looks like something out of a sci-fi film. The observation deck atop the International Commerce Centre will show you fantastic views of the city. Hong Kong isn’t all cityscape, of course; there are many gardens, parks, and other green spaces for you to explore. You’ll also find beaches, national parks, and quiet islands for you to indulge in natural beauty and serenity. This city truly has everything. One Day Visit to Ocean Park (Highlights), Hong Kong

09:41
Ocean Park Hong Kong, commonly known as Ocean Park, is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and amusement park situated in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District of Hong Kong. Opened in 1977 by the then Governor of Hong Kong Sir Murray MacLehose, Ocean Park became popular but by 2005 was unprofitable and widely expected to lose out to the new Hong Kong Disneyland. However, the Park responded with a HK$5.5 billion development plan that saw it expand to over 80 attractions and rides, and steadily grow visitor numbers to 7.6 million in 2014, making it the world's 13th most visited theme park, and the largest theme park in Asia. Half of all visitors now come from mainland China, in growth that parallels rising mainland tourist visitor levels to Hong Kong over the same period. Since this high, visitor numbers have declined to around 6 million in 2016 under the background of declining tourist arrivals in Hong Kong. Covering an area of 91.5 hectares (226 acres), the park is separated by a large mountain into two areas, The Summit (Headland) and The Waterfront (Lowland). These areas can be reached by a 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) cable car system, or the Ocean Express funicular railway. To ascend the Headland comprises several hills, visitors can use Hong Kong's second longest outdoor escalator. The theme park has various attractions and rides, including four roller coasters, and also animal exhibits with different themes, such as a giant panda habitat, rainforest and polar displays, as well as an aquarium featuring the world's largest aquarium dome. Between 1979 and 1997, Ocean Park was most famous for its signature killer whale, Miss Hoi Wai (海威小姐). As well as being an amusement park, Ocean Park Hong Kong aims to merge entertainment and education, including conservation advocacy. However it has been criticised by wildlife advocates for practices including the wild capture of large sea animals, such as dolphins and orca, and the presentation of shows featuring such animals performing. How to reach there: Catch Hong Kong metro and reach Admirality station. Change here for South Island Line and reach at Ocean Park station. The Ocean Park is situated adjacent to the metro station. First Timer's Guide to Hong Kong Disneyland | Tenani

Our South East Asia Trip continues with a stop at the one and only Hong Kong Disneyland! This first-timers' guide to Hong Kong Disneyland is a how-to guide to the best way to see the park! My first time at a non-US Disney Park was an amazing experience, definitely Disney but a slightly different feel. We rode Hong Kong Disneyland exclusive rides like Mystic Manor and Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars, as well as Disney Parks favourites like Space Mountain, it's a small world, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. A surprise to us was just how good the food was - best meal we had in all of Hong Kong! Definitely kept the magic alive, if you're a Disney fan Hong Kong Disneyland should definitely be on your list! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- South East Asia Trip 2016: PREVIOUS VIDEO: HONG KONG NIGHTS - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eC-qeQLo3OA NEXT VIDEO: NEW YEARS IN VIETNAM - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvUjQ5neZiM WATCH MORE DISNEY PARKS VIDEOS - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLhLPBDMrpg0nvVxyAj9E2a1ICETxSHIme ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Music: Broke For Free - The Gold Lining (https://soundcloud.com/broke-for-free) Disney Paint the Night Soundtrack ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's be friends Google+ ► http://www.google.com/+nanisnap Twitter ► http://www.twitter.com/tenani Instagram ► http://www.instagram.com/tenani Snapchat ► Tenani Facebook ► http://www.facebook.com/nanisnap Show your support on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/tenani

Hong Kong Street Food Tour — Roasted Meat and Amazing Dai Pai Dong Experience!

27:54
►Subscribe to my videos: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe ►25 Must-Eat Dishes in Hong Kong: https://goo.gl/8tLKwN ►Hong Kong Travel Guide for Food Lovers: https://goo.gl/AlcXel On Day 38 of our Round The World Trip for Food with Star Alliance, I wanted to make it a full on Hong Kong street food tour. We first started with some amazing Hong Kong roast meat, then had lunch at a legendary Hong Kong dai pai dong street food stall, and then continued on to a local Hong Kong dai pai dong for dinner. 00:50 Kwan Yu Roasted Meat (君御燒味) - Starting off the morning, we first ate at Kwan Yu Roasted Meat (君御燒味), a small and friendly Cantonese roasted meat restaurant. I ordered roast pork, char siu, and also got a soy sauce pigeon on the side. Everything was good, but the soy sauce pigeon, a local Hong Kong delicacy, was the best. Nothing like starting off a Hong Kong food tour with some roasted meats! Total price - 81 HKD ($10.44) What is a dai pai dong? A dai pai dong officially means a restaurant with a big license plate, but it refers to usually open air cooked food stalls, or Hong Kong street food stalls. 7:20 Sing Kee (盛記) - One of the legendary Hong Kong street food dai pai dong’s located right in the heart of Hong Kong central is Sing Kee (盛記). They serve all sorts of stir fried dishes that you order to make. I ordered a plate of sweet and sour pork ribs, chicken with ginger and spring onion, and clams in black bean sauce. The street food stall has an amazing atmosphere, slotted between sky rise buildings within an alley. The chef was pretty friendly, and when I was taking photos, he offered me a taste test of the sweet and sour ribs, right out of the wok. Sing Kee (盛記) is an amazing Hong Kong street food stall to eat at when you’re in Hong Kong. Total price - 169 HKD ($21.79) 13:27 Chan Kun Kee (陳根記) dai pai dong (Thank you to: http://www.strippedpixel.com/ for this recommendation) - Finally for dinner, I decided we needed to take a little food mission to Fo Tan Station, Wo Che Estate, Sha Tin, Hong Kong, in search of a properly local Hong Kong dai pai dong experience. The restaurant was tucked back into a neighborhood, far removed from the everyday hustle of Hong Kong. Yet in the midst of the condos, there it was, Chan Kun Kee (陳根記), an incredibly huge open air restaurant serving all things Cantonese food. I ordered the drunken chicken, fried fish, mantis shrimp, and a spicy fish pot. The food was awesome, and the loud and hectic Hong Kong environment was perfect. This was a stop on today’s Hong Kong food tour that was well worth getting off the eaten path for. Total price - 402 HKD ($51.83) It was an amazing day of eating Hong Kong street food on this food tour. I don’t think I can choose a favorite meal or dish of the day, they were all so delicious! Hong Kong Food Tour - Breakfast, Bamboo Noodles Won Ton, and Chinese Dai Pai Dong Feast!

28:26
►Hong Kong Travel Guide for Food Lovers: https://goo.gl/AlcXel ►25 Must-Eat Dishes in Hong Kong: https://goo.gl/8tLKwN ►Subscribe to my videos: http://bit.ly/MarkWiensSubscribe On Day 37 of our Round The World Trip For Food, we continued the food tour of Hong Kong starting with a classic Hong Kong breakfast of lemon tea and a beef and scrambled egg sandwich. We then had some delicious bamboo pounded noodles and wonton, and then continued to have dinner at a famous dai pai dong. 00:29 Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記 Thank you to Josephine for this recommendation) - For breakfast in Hong Kong we headed over to Sham Shui Po and went to a classic Hong Kong cafe and restaurant called Sun Hang Yuen (新香園 堅記). I ordered my usual hot lemon tea, a glass of black tea with a half of a lemon chopped up inside. It was wonderful. We then had a beef and scrambled egg sandwich, which was surprisingly much better than I thought it was going to be. The bread was toasted wonderfully and the beef and eggs on the inside tasted so good, fried in what I think was butter. Total price - 33 HKD ($4.25) 4:58 Sham Shui Po market - After eating breakfast we walked around the Sham Shui Po market, a local fresh wet market in Hong Kong. The market was busy and stocked with everything you could imaging that goes into Hong Kong food. 6:29 Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面) - There are many famous restaurants in Hong Kong that serve egg noodles and wonton, but I really wanted to find a restaurant that specialized in bamboo kneaded noodles, which is becoming harder and harder to find in Hong Kong. So finally I found a place called Kwan Kee Bamboo Noodle (坤記竹昇面), a new restaurant that uses the owner's family recipe and technique for making his noodles. I was hoping to get to see the noodles being made, but unfortunately they weren’t making them at the time we got there to eat. Nevertheless, the noodles were still made using a bamboo pole to knead the dough. The noodles were amazing, had such a fantastic texture to them, and the wontons were equally as delicious. It was a fantastic noodle eating experience in Hong Kong. Total price - 84 HKD ($10.83) 13:11 Mong Kok, Ladies Market - Mongkok is one of the most famous areas in Hong Kong for shopping, and we walked around the area for a little bit. Ladies Market is a walking street flea market where you’ll find everything from clothes to souvenirs to luggage. 16:40 Tsim Sha Tsui, Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Star Ferry - 2.3 HKD ($0.30) - After walking around Mongkok we took the bus over to Tsim Sha Tsui to walk around and enjoy the views of the skyline of Hong Kong. 18:26 Tung Po Restaurant at Java Road Market (Thank you to Charles for this recommendation) - For dinner, we went to Java Road Market, and to a restaurant called Tung Po, that’s a well known dai pai dong restaurant within the market. They serve a huge menu of different Cantonese and even Thai dishes. My wife and I ordered a couple of different dishes, the highlight of the meal being the razor clams stir fried in black bean sauce. In addition to the food, the ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what you want in Hong Kong. Total price - 464 HKD ($59.83) 26:00 A Symphony of Lights - Finally to end this day of food in Hong Kong we went back to Tsim Sha Tsui to see the symphony of lights show. Disclaimer and Thank You: Thank you to Star Alliance and their Round The World tickets (http://www.staralliance.com/en/round-the-world) for sponsoring my business class flights. Hongkong Disneyland 2018 (Part1)

12:54
This year (2018) we visited Hongkong. This is my birthday gift to my daughter Chesca for her 7th birthday. One of our itinerary is Hongkong Disneyland. The happiest place on earth! The weather in Hongkong (on our trip) is very cold. As you can see on the video I am chilling. Try to prepare for the cold weather for your next trip. Chesca enjoyed disneyland especially the parades. We did not have enough time to visit all the attraction as the queue is very long and the waiting time will take most of your time. Definitely one day won't be enough to visit all the attractions. Better plan your visit if you are planning a one day trip. Just visit all the attractions you want the most. HongKong Trip 2018

12:01
This year (2018) we visited Hongkong. This is my birthday gift to my daughter Chesca for her 7th birthday. The weather in Hongkong (on our trip) is very cold. As you can see on the video I am chilling. Specially at night time. Try to prepare for the cold weather for your next trip. Places we visited are NongPing 360 cable car, NgongPing Village, Tian Tan Buddha statue, The Peak (peak tram), Temple Street night market (nearby our hotel) and Hongkong Disneyland. We also visited Macau for a day trip (separate video). TIPS: I booked all the ticket attraction using the app "KLOOK" (not sponsored). It will save your time & money as they offer cheaper price and express lane so you don't need to wait & queue very long. You can download the app or go to their website www.klook.com For more updates, follow me in IG: @francisjon14 https://www.instagram.com/francisjon14/ Book with booking.com to get 10% discount on your stay using the link below: https://www.booking.com/s/22_8/jon14083 Enjoy the video!
