Ever had a requirement to add fuzzy search to your APEX application ...? And did you know that Oracle Database and APEX provide everything you need? This Application Express Office Hours session shows how to provide error-tolerant searching to your end users using Application Express and the Oracle TEXT database feature. Oracle TEXT allows to build just one Index for all your data and it provides linguistic and fuzzy search capabilities. The APEX Interactive Grid component allows to declaratively integrate such an index - however, other APEX components can leverage Oracle TEXT as well. The session shows how to build the Oracle Text index and how to use it with various APEX components. Tips and Tricks for practical usage will wrap the session up. FIXED 500 Internal Server Error on WordPress https://youtu.be/OhWUvQU2diU Grab your free 17-Point WordPress Pre-Launch PDF Checklist: http://vid.io/xqRL The 500 internal server error is not a WordPress-specific error. It is a general server error that may be related to your server settings or your WordPress files. Use the information in this tutorial to troubleshoot the 500 internal server error you are receiving. Here are the things you'll need to troubleshoot. 1. Your htaccess file may be corrupted. Try renaming it and see if that fixes the 500 error. If it does then the problem is in the htaccess file. 2. You may have reached the memory limit on your hosting account. Try increasing the limit using one of the methods outlined in this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WmlGHje1V50 3. Try replacing the wp-admin and wp-include folders with fresh versions of those folders. This one is more complicated. Basically you'd backup those two folders in your hosting account and upload those two folders from a fresh version of WordPress downloaded from WordPress.org. Check Your Plugins The first 500 internal server error troubleshoot is by deactivating all of your plugins. To do this log into your site files using FTP or going through cPanel. If you go the cPanel route, click on File Manager in your cPanel. The find your website’s root folder. It is usually in the public_html folder. Then navigate to wp-content and locate the “plugins” folder. Next rename the Plugins folder to something different like “plugins-old”. This deactivates all the plugins on your site. If that fixes the problem, then you know the problem is with your plugins. Now that you know the problem is with your plugins you can go into the Wordpress back-end and activate each plugin individually to isolate the cause. You do this by activating one plugin, then reload your website. If you do not see the 500 Internal Server Error then it’s not that plugin. Then activate another plugin and do the same until one of them breaks your site. Once you know which plugin is causing the 500 Internal Server error, you can either delete that plugin, replace it, or contact the developer for more help. If deactivating the plugins didn’t fix the problem, keep on reading. Increase Your Memory Limit The next step in the troubleshooting process is to increase the memory limit on your website. Go cPanel and open the File Manager again. There may be a file in your website’s root called php.ini. If there is not just create a file with that name. Now, open the newly created file in the code editor and type memory=128MB in the file. This should increase your memory limit. Now refresh your website. If the error is gone, the cause was a memory problem on the server and you have identified the problem. You should now contact your host support to figure out what is draining your memory and remedy the problem with their help. Replace wp-admin and wp-include Files If increasing the memory limit did not clear up the error, then copy in a new “wp-admin” folder and “wp-includes” folder in your WordPress site. This can be done quite simply, but you want to follow the right process to protect yourself in case anything goes wrong. First, go to your root folder and compress each of the current “wp-admin” and “wp-includes” folders into a zip archive. Just in case something goes wrong you’ll have a backup of those files. Now go to wordpress.org and click on the “Download Wordpress” button. The downloaded zip file will contain the latest versions of “wp-admin” and “wp-includes”. Unzip that WordPress file. Find the “wp-admin” and “wp-includes” inside the WordPress folder on your harddrive. Highlight both of them and compress them. Upload them into the root folder of your website using cPanel or FTP. Now go ahead delete the uncompressed versions of these folders in your website root. Next, extract the compressed folders and now you have fresh copies of them on your website. Refresh your website to see if that fixes the problem. If it does fix the problem, you can safely delete the compressed backups. I hope this information helps you! What is Autonomous transaction in Oracle. This is very frequently asking question in Interview. Hello Friend, in this Video You can learn how we can give the answer of Autonomous Transactions. An autonomous transaction is available from Oracle 8i. It is a very cool, useful, unique and powerful feature in oracle. An autonomous transaction is an independent transaction that is initiated by another transaction. It must contain at least one Structured Query Language (SQL) statement. When an autonomous transaction is called, the original transaction (calling transaction) is temporarily suspended. The autonomous transaction must commit or roll back before it returns control to the calling transaction. Once changes have been made by an autonomous transaction, those changes are visible to other transactions in the database. Autonomous transactions can be nested. For use Autonomous Transactions feature in program we have to use PRAGMA AUTONOMOUS_TRANSACTION Key word in Program When to use Autonomous Transactions? • Logging mechanism you need to log an error to your database log table. On the other hand, you need to roll back your core transaction because of the error. And you don't want to roll back over other log entries. • Commits and rollbacks in your database triggers If you define a trigger as an autonomous transaction, then you can commit and/or roll back in that code. • Software usage meter You want to keep track of how often a program is called during an application session. This information is not dependent on, and cannot affect, the transaction being processed in the application. Mutation Error Using autonomous transaction we can avoid mutation error. The way you create a table is to use the CREATE TABLE command. CREATE TABLE users() So in this situation, the name comes right after the TABLE keyword. The next thing we do is put all of the columns on a line that we want to put in our table. CREATE TABLE users( user_id, username, first_name, last_name ) Notice the naming conventions here. For this series we are going to make columns with what is known as snake casing. This is where each individual word is separated by an underscore. if you have more than one column, all of them have to have commas except the last one. The comma is a way to say that another column is coming, so you don't need to do it on the last one. Now you would think we were done, but we also have to say what data type each column is. Later we will extensively discuss data types so we can focus on them exclusively. For now, here are the data types we are going to use: CREATE TABLE users( user_id NUMBER, username VARCHAR2(50), first_name VARCHAR2(50), last_name VARCHAR2(50) ) Now, inside of the parenthesis for varchar2, we pass in a number... This is the max length of the string. But the question is, what is it measured in? The default is actually in bytes, not characters. For example if we have the string hello, it is 5 characters, but it might take up a total of 10 bytes of storage. So I would recommend adding the keyword char right after the number so it defaults to 50 characters, not bytes. CREATE TABLE users( user_id NUMBER, username VARCHAR(50 CHAR), first_name VARCHAR2(50 CHAR), last_name VARCHAR2(50 CHAR) ) This will work to create a table, but it's really missing a lot of information… which column is the primary key? Are we adding any indexes? Is there any thing else we need to say about these columns? So as you can tell, we are making progress, but there is still so much to learn. The biggest gotcha to remember from this video is that the data type VARCHAR ends in a 2, stupid, right? who would end the name of something with a 2? In this tutorial, you'll learn will learn how to use with clause PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) is Oracle Corporation's procedural extension for SQL and the Oracle relational database. PL/SQL is available in Oracle Database (since version 7), TimesTen in-memory database (since version 11.2.1), and IBM DB2 (since version 9.7). Oracle Corporation usually extends PL/SQL functionality with each successive release of the Oracle Database. PL/SQL includes procedural language elements such as conditions and loops. It allows declaration of constants and variables, procedures and functions, types and variables of those types, and triggers. It can handle exceptions (runtime errors). Arrays are supported involving the use of PL/SQL collections. Implementations from version 8 of Oracle Database onwards have included features associated with object-orientation. One can create PL/SQL units such as procedures, functions, packages, types, and triggers, which are stored in the database for reuse by applications that use any of the Oracle Database programmatic interfaces. PL/SQL works analogously to the embedded procedural languages associated with other relational databases. For example, Sybase ASE and Microsoft SQL Server have Transact-SQL, PostgreSQL has PL/pgSQL (which emulates PL/SQL to an extent), and IBM DB2 includes SQL Procedural Language, which conforms to the ISO SQL’s SQL/PSM standard. The designers of PL/SQL modeled its syntax on that of Ada. Both Ada and PL/SQL have Pascal as a common ancestor, and so PL/SQL also resembles Pascal in several aspects. However, the structure of a PL/SQL package does not resemble the basic Object Pascal program structure as implemented by a Borland Delphi or Free Pascal unit. Programmers can define public and private global data-types, constants and static variables in a PL/SQL package. PL/SQL also allows for the definition of classes and instantiating these as objects in PL/SQL code. This resembles usage in object-oriented programming languages like Object Pascal, C++ and Java. PL/SQL refers to a class as an "Abstract Data Type" (ADT) or "User Defined Type" (UDT), and defines it as an Oracle SQL data-type as opposed to a PL/SQL user-defined type, allowing its use in both the Oracle SQL Engine and the Oracle PL/SQL engine. The constructor and methods of an Abstract Data Type are written in PL/SQL. The resulting Abstract Data Type can operate as an object class in PL/SQL. Such objects can also persist as column values in Oracle database tables. PL/SQL is fundamentally distinct from Transact-SQL, despite superficial similarities. Porting code from one to the other usually involves non-trivial work, not only due to the differences in the feature sets of the two languages, but also due to the very significant differences in the way Oracle and SQL Server deal with concurrency and locking. There are software tools available that claim to facilitate porting including Oracle Translation Scratch Editor, CEITON MSSQL/Oracle Compiler and SwisSQL. The StepSqlite product is a PL/SQL compiler for the popular small database SQLite. PL/SQL Program Unit A PL/SQL program unit is one of the following: PL/SQL anonymous block, procedure, function, package specification, package body, trigger, type specification, type body, library. Program units are the PL/SQL source code that is compiled, developed and ultimately executed on the database. The basic unit of a PL/SQL source program is the block, which groups together related declarations and statements. A PL/SQL block is defined by the keywords DECLARE, BEGIN, EXCEPTION, and END. These keywords divide the block into a declarative part, an executable part, and an exception-handling part. The declaration section is optional and may be used to define and initialize constants and variables. If a variable is not initialized then it defaults to NULL value. The optional exception-handling part is used to handle run time errors. Only the executable part is required. A block can have a label. Package Packages are groups of conceptually linked functions, procedures, variables, PL/SQL table and record TYPE statements, constants, cursors etc. The use of packages promotes re-use of code. Packages are composed of the package specification and an optional package body. The specification is the interface to the application; it declares the types, variables, constants, exceptions, cursors, and subprograms available. The body fully defines cursors and subprograms, and so implements the specification. Two advantages of packages are: Modular approach, encapsulation/hiding of business logic, security, performance improvement, re-usability. They support object-oriented programming features like function overloading and encapsulation. Using package variables one can declare session level (scoped) variables, since variables declared in the package specification have a session scope.
