Starbucks can be found all over the world, from Shanghai to Guantanamo Bay. But there is one continent that was uninterested in the coffee giant. Australians largely rejected Starbucks' attempted takeover, which led to an embarrassing retreat for the brand. » Subscribe to CNBC: http://cnb.cx/SubscribeCNBC About CNBC: From 'Wall Street' to 'Main Street' to award winning original documentaries and Reality TV series, CNBC has you covered. The Circular Flow Model of a Market Economy

12:37
By this point in your course you may have learned the definition of a market: A place where buyers and sellers meet to engage in mutually beneficial exchanges. But what is a market economy? Two basic types of markets exist in any market economy: resource markets and product markets. The exchanges that take place in these markets benefit both the households and the firms that engage in exchanges. This lesson will introduce the circular flow of money, resources and goods and services in a market economy. We will examine how resources flow from households to firms, and goods and services from firms to households. We will also seek to explain why individuals are willing to engage in the exchanges that characterize the market system. Want to learn more about economics, or just be ready for an upcoming quiz, test or end of year exam? MUSIC Missing Someone (Vlog Music ) by Dj Quads https://soundcloud.com/aka-dj-quads Music provided by Audio Library https://youtu.be/D-c-gGRYKUs Some more thoughts on this; We really wanted to make a guide to help others sell handmade products at craft fairs, online, and wholesale, and share some of our experiences with each type. Everyone who has tried these methods has a different take on them of course, and it depends on what types of projects you are making and selling, but hopefully our personal experiences will help others who are interested in selling handmade products. We think one cool thing about selling handmade is you can do it as a full business or as a side hustle, so it's easy to dip your toes into it. We started out doing pop up shops and starting an Etsy page, and these led us to joining the West Elm local program where we started selling wholesale. We'd love to hear others' tips and tricks as well, since we are still learning lots the more we do this. Do you guys prefer small craft fairs, bigger trade shows, selling online on Etsy or your own store, selling wholesale, etc?

Afghanistan markets its brand of pomegranates

Mid of pomegranate trade stall, salesman with customer 7. SOUNDBITE: (Dari) Khalid, Nuhda Pomegranates Company: "I am sure that this pomegranate exhibition will be very beneficial for exporting pomegranates. So far we have been contacted by some Indian businessmen who are interested in buying our pomegranates and even Iranian and European businessmen." 8. Mid of pomegranate stall 9. Close of pomegranates 10. Wide interior of exhibition 11. SOUNDBITE: (Dari) Lal Mohammad Bahari, Head of Farah province Farmers Union: "If we consider pomegranates as an alternative to poppies, pomegranates are more valuable and will generate more income for our farmers. Poppy cultivation has simply become a habit, otherwise it does not have any benefit for our farmers." 12. Close up of inside of pomegranate 13. Market stall with shoppers buying pomegranates 14. Close up of money in hand 15. Mid of pomegranates sellers in street market 16. SOUNDBITE: (Dari) Abdul Basir, fruit seller: "It is a good step because it will persuade our farmers more into farming legal crops and they will farm more fruits." 17. SOUNDBITE (Dari) Abdul Rauf, school teacher: "I believe that before exporting our fruits outside we must make sure that we have consumers in the country. And we can have consumers in the country only when the price is affordable for the people. Foreigners can buy them but locals cannot buy pomegranates because they are so expensive." 18. Wide of market STORYLINE: Afghan officials are hoping that the pomegranate may provide its farmers with a lucrative and legal alternative to growing opium poppies. A large trade exhibition has been organised in the capital Kabul, and everyone with a stake in the revitalisation of this old crop has gathered to promote the pomegranate. It is the latest step in a 12 (m) million US dollar, US-funded initiative to modernise and expand Afghanistan's pomegranate industry, which has long depended on domestic sales and small-scale exports to nearby countries. Even these exports have been severely hit by years of border fighting. Even though the Afghan pomegranate is considered one of the best in the world, it has been very much a local delicacy. The fruit is about the size of an apple, with a thick, reddish skin and hundreds of seeds embedded in tough, white pulp. At this time of year, the red seed casings are consumed everywhere in Kabul: as juice, spooned straight from the fruit, or piled on a tray and sold by the scoop to picnickers in parks. The country will stamp a logo on all boxes of the pomegranate for export: a drawing of the sliced, red fruit with seeds spilling out and a label that announces, "Anar, Afghan Pomegranate." Anar is the word for pomegranate in various regional languages. Pomegranates are riding a wave of popularity in Europe and the United States, where they are celebrated for their high levels of antioxidants, which protect cells from damage by compounds called free radicals. The US domestic supply comes largely from California's San Joaquin Valley, augmented by imports from Israel, Turkey, Lebanon, Greece and Mexico. Salesmen at the trade fair say they are encouraged, with interest expressed by importers from around the world. Last year, Afghanistan exported its first pomegranates to outlets of the French chain Carrefour in Dubai. Afghanistan's best export, agricultural or otherwise, is opium. What You Need to Know Before Exporting to Australia

05:29
With a shared culture, stable economy, and 24 million English-speaking citizens, Australia is one of America’s strongest trade partners. There are many lucrative business opportunities in Australia thanks to the Australia-U.S. Free Trade Agreement, which allows for 99% of U.S.-made goods to enter the country duty-free. In addition to its openness to trade, its geographic location makes it a logical springboard into other nearby markets like New Zealand, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea. The U.S. Commercial Service has offices with experts in Sydney, Canberra, and Perth to help American companies export to Australia. Watch the Export Destinations video to get a better taste of what business opportunities lie in Australia. For more: http://www.export.gov/article?id=Australia-Market-Overview September 19, 2017

More from Inside Edition: http://bit.ly/2bF0iuC Shoppers are on the hunt for bargains this holiday season, but buyers beware. Inside Edition found great prices on many items around the country. But in some cases, those deals were too good to be true. At a neighborhood festival in Utah, we found high-end sunglasses that looked like pairs made by Oakley or Ray-Ban, which sell for $150. These were being sold for $30. We then showed an undercover agent for the Utah Attorney General's Counterfeit Task Force, three pairs of sunglasses.

Importing from China - Sourcing Products from Chinese Suppliers

06:35
Importing from China is a fantastic way to source private label products. Chinese suppliers are high-profit, low-cost! Interested in making $10,000/Month? Download our free ebook here: http://wholesaleted.com/4-step Please note: this description contains affiliate links Importing from China is something that I strongly recommend. It is much cheaper to purchase product from Chinese suppliers compared to USA suppliers. Some people find this idea very daunting, especially the cultural barrier. To help you, we’ve created this video outlining some of our top tips when importing from China. Tip #1: Order the minimal order quantity to start with when importing from China To be on the safe side, you should always start with the minimal order quantity when dealing with a new supplier. I understand that a lot of sellers want to start out by ordering larger quantities. This makes sense, because the more you order the lower the cost is per-item, and the higher your profit margins. It also means that you will have a smaller chance of running out of stock. In Spite of this, when importing from China with a new Chinese supplier, I recommend starting with the minimal order quantity (EVEN if you know it’ll sell well) because you want to test the quality. It is much harder to go from producing 1 unit to producing 200… and even harder to go from producing 200 to 1000. On that note, you should ALWAYS be ordering a test product when dealing with a new Chinese supplier! You’ll have to pay for the shipping, but it is extremely important to do this to check the quality even if the supplier has a lot of reviews on Alibaba. Tip #2: Do due diligence on the supplier That said, reviews on Alibaba are very important. When using Alibaba to source Chinese suppliers, check the reviews. Only work with suppliers that have positive reviews. Be sure to check the address of the supplier on Google Maps. Ensure that there is a factory at the address noted. If there isn’t a factory, then it is likely a middle man… which means you’re paying inflated prices, and not the at-cost price. And pick up the phone and give them a call. Make sure someone picks up the phone and talks to you (yes - this may seem obvious, but a lot of people don’t do this simple thing). Even better is if you can find people who can personally recommend Chinese suppliers to you. This way, you can work with suppliers that you can trust from the get-go. Tip #3: Build a strong relationship with your supplier and representative This is an important lesson not just when importing from China but for business and life in general. Treat people with respect and they will treat you with respect as well. Think about it: If someone was disrespectful to you, would you want to help them? On the other hand, if someone is nice to you, don’t you want to help them? Be respectful, and friendly. In addition, Chinese suppliers like you to be formal in your communication style with them. They like to be told directly that you appreciate their business and are happy with the products being produced. They will be hoping to turn you into a long-term client, and want the positive feedback, so be sure to give it to them. Tip #4: Don’t feel you need to speak Mandarin When importing from China, some people get put off by the perceived language barrier. “But I only know English… can I still import from China?” Yes - you can! Chinese factories have English representatives specifically for people like you. Their English is good and you’ll have minimal language barriers. Don’t let this stop you from profiting from the very cheap products you can source from China. Now, when importing from China there are some things you can do to minimize the language barrier. One, use short sentences, and do not include extra fluff. Be straight to the point. Two, use professional language, do not use slang. Three, be aware that there are multiple types of “English.” Four, don’t assume that your representative knows YOUR particular flavour of English. Avoid country-specific words and isms. Tip #5: Remember that when importing from China “yes” doesn’t always mean YES. In China it is considered impolite for the suppliers to say no. So, even when they want to say no… they are unlikely to, and will often say yes instead. However, this doesn’t mean it is a yes. It is a no. But they will say “yes” anyway. It is one frustrating quirk. If you sense any hesitation in their “yes” ask them the same question, be reworded differently multiple times. If you ever get a “maybe” that is almost always a no! We hope you enjoyed our video and learned some tips for importing from Chinese suppliers. Do you want to learn how to earn over $10,000 a month on Amazon, with dropshipping? Wholesale Pallets Customer Returns - think twice before buying!

07:31
Find Wholesale Pallets @ https://www.liquidatorsguide.com/guide/ No matter where you will be reselling liquidation goods, i.e. Amazon, eBay, flea markets, or a traditional storefront, there are a few considerations one must understand and properly prepare for. Here are a few important issues in no particular order: Logistics – The thought of having large pallets or even truckloads of merchandise delivered to your door can be a little scary at first. There are a lot of questions one might have when scheduling multiple pallets shipped by freight carrier. Aside from freight costs, the biggest consideration when having pallets delivered is removing pallets from the truck. Without a forklift, a liquidation buyer must have pallet loads delivered with a trailer that is equipped with a lift gate. A lift gate allows the truck driver to lower pallets from the trailer to the ground. If you do not have a forklift make sure to request delivery with lift gate service. Storage for inventory – A full 53′ trailer will hold 24 single stacked pallets. Standard pallets are 40″ x 48″ and stacked as high as 6-7′, depending on the type of merchandise ordered. If we do the math, a pallet takes up almost 13.5 square feet of space. A full truckload of 24 pallets equals 324 square feet! To give you some idea as to volume, the average 2 car garage is approximately 425-475 square feet in size. You may be able to fit 24 pallets in a garage, but this would leave no room to sort and process merchandise; this is also assuming the garage was completely empty before adding the pallets. Unsellable – While overstocks and shelf pull items (MOS – Marked Out of Stock) may not be damaged, customer return pallets will contain items that are damaged. You must have a plan in place for damaged items. Some items can be fixed, while others may need to be resold as is, or thrown away altogether. Items that cannot be sold due to condition affect overall profitability. Missing pieces/parts – Customer returned loads, depending on the type of merchandise, will inevitably contain items that are missing parts and pieces. Some short items can be resold as is, while other items must sit in storage until you can order replacement parts from the manufacturer. Brand & store resell guidelines – Some department stores impose resell restrictions when buying customer returns and shelf pulled items. Some restrictions to look out for are: Cannot resell liquidated goods with a specified mile radius of store originated from. Example – Sears customer returns cannot be sold through a physical location within 50 miles of a Sears department or outlet store. Store branded items must be defaced before resold. Example Macy’s Store brand Charter Club merchandise (clothing) must be defaced with a line drawn through the label Some stores require liquidation goods to be exported out of the country Most, if not all, department stores forbid liquidation buyers from advertising where goods originated from. For example, if you bought pallets of clothing from Macy’s you cannot use Macy’s in any form of advertising when reselling goods. As you can see from the considerations above, it’s not a matter of ordering pallets of merchandise, and figuring out the details later. There is much preparation involved in working with liquidated goods. All of the topics and considerations listed above are discussed in great detail within the pages of The Liquidators Guide. Undercover investigation: Black Market tobacco trade exposed

01:48
Subscribe here: http://bit.ly/1bmWO8h An undercover investigation for Channel 5 carried out by journalist Paul Connolly reveals the scale of the £4 billion black market in tobacco. Connolly's investigation begins with him setting up a stall at a car boot sale outside London, offering cheap cigarettes to genuine customers - to see whether they'll put a bargain before their health. He admits he has no idea who's made them and where they're from - yet still makes sale after sale. Connolly discovers that once you know where to look and who to ask, illegal cigarettes are plentiful, right across Britain. He gets hold of fake tobacco that's 10 times as dangerous as the genuine product and reveals that some tobacco has dangerously high levels of the toxic metals cadmium and lead. The shocking investigation ends with Connolly posing as a black market buyer, setting up a deal to buy 20,000 pounds worth of smuggled tobacco - before confronting the dealer. NEW MAYBELLINE 3 DAY BROW TATTOO | Review & Demo

08:47
The Online Makeup School Is Live https://theonlinemakeupschool.com/ My eyebrows are naturally invisible so I'm a BIG fan of semi-permanent brow tattoo/dye products and I'm very excited about this new release from Maybelline. While they're not the first brand to release a product like this (some Asian brands have had them for a while), Maybelline is very accessible, affordable widely available - Asian products can be a bit hard to find in some places. This product was sent to me by Maybelline but this video is NOT sponsored, I'm under no obligation to review or say positive things. How I Do $250,000 a Month Selling Alibaba and Ali Express Products on eBay & Amazon

21:11
BEST CONVERTING SHOPIFY THEME https://bit.ly/2TbVsqV Jungle Scout Analytic Tool http://affiliate.junglescout.com/idevaffiliate.php?id=618 SETUP YOUR OWN SHOPIFY STORE http://bit.ly/26SUDFb LINKS TO THESE PRODUCTS http://rulesforrebels.blogspot.com/2015/10/how-i-do-250000-month-selling-alibaba.html eCommerce is not rocket science, it's simply the process of finding products which sell well on platforms like eBay, Amazon, Etsy, or your own Shopify store or WooCommerce store. You want to find products which you can source cheaply either from Chinese suppliers and manufacturers on sites like Ali Express, Alibaba, Saleshoo, or domestically through something like ThomasNet. You want to find products which you can buy cheaply on those platforms and resell for more money on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, etc. My intention with this post isn't to have you run off and sell these exact products. It's to show you the process, to show you how to find items, etc. While you can probably make money just copying this exact method I would rather see you use the overall concept to find your own products and niches which you can sell. Money can be made selling random one off products, however a better way to build a longer term sustainable business with better margins, less competition, and loyal customers who make recurring purchases is to stick within a niche. Rather than selling a mixing bowl today and a tactical pen tomorrow you find a niche to settle into in which you can build content, a social media following, etc and then market and sell to that audience. If your selling all kitchen goods or cooking items people may buy multiple items from you or come back and make more purchases. If your selling a nintendo controller extension today and a pair of Yoga socks tomorrow your items are not crossover purchase items that the same consumer will buy, however if your selling multiple items in the Yoga niche for example there's a good chance the buyer who purchases Yoga socks will come back for a Yoga mat. Something I hear alot is how can we possibly compete with the low prices of Chinese manufacturers selling direct to consumers on platforms like eBay and Amazon. While that is making selling more challening, pricing isn't as big an issue as you may think. Sure someone can buy an item for $2 form a Chinese seller but it will take 4-6 weeks to arrive, the quality may be spotty, the listing probably isn't well written, and returns are difficult, often leaving the buyer paying expensive return shipping. Simply by putting together quality listings with good pictures and descriptions you can often outrank the manufacturers and sell for a higher price by that alone. You can also employ strategies like bundling products and private labeling which can also help you sell your products at higher prices than the manufacturers and suppliers are offering them for. I explain that in more detail below. Bundling refers to packaging items together. Let's take for example something like the fire starter. You can buy this for 0.20 cents and maybe sell it for a couple bucks right? Okay, well what if we now add a fire starter, a compass, a paracord bracelet and a folding credit card knife. All these items are very cheap. We could probably buy one of each for say $1. When we bundle these items together and call it a "Survival Pack" something along those lines we create added perceived value and can maybe get $16.95 for these 3 or 4 items which maybe cost us a buck and some change at most. How does private labeling add value to a product? Most people prefer buying brands as opposed to generic products. Sometimes it's because the brand product is superior, while other times peole just like a fancy name on a box. Think about it, if your at a store and your looking to buy a HDMI cable. Are you going to buy the one in the clear plastic bag with no name that just says "HDMI Cable" or are you going to buy the one in the box called "Lightening Cable" that has diagrams showing how the connections are gold, its faster than other HDMI cables, etc. Most people will probably opt for the branded item. Same thing with most other products, people want a branded product more and will typically pay a couple extra bucks to get it.
